You're missing the main point here.

It's merely stating that if a friend doesn't take your advice and gets too drunk, then you should always be aware of what to do if they pass out.

20% of teenage choking deaths through unconsciousness via alcohol consumption could have been avoided by simply placing them on their side/recovery position.

People underestimate the message in this video. This has happened countless times, and people don't realise that this does actually happen and has killed people before. If anything, I thank the British red Cross for uploading this; it reminds us the seriousness of alcohol (both the effects of it and the other damages it can create, like the one in this video). I like how binge drinking is such a part of everyday life in the UK, that the Red Cross sees fit to run PSAs about "how to make sure people don't die when they pass out drunk"

back in my HS days i remember some kid dying due to choking on his vomit. this spawned a short lived morality escapade. there were a record number of medical calls for passed out people at parties. as everyone was underage there were also some heavy 5 or 6 month juvenile detention sentences along with healthy probation. after a few kids got such convictions people quit calling the medics. in the US i think there is to much punishment for a teenager to call a medic in these situations.
