  • i love ur cage

  • They are sooo cute! And they realy know how to dance!:):D;)

  • ugh they're so cute!!!!! <3

  • Your piggies are so adorable. I see that this vid was taken in 2008. I have to admit, I just adopted two male piggies and they both look exactly like these two. Just wondering if you still have these two....

  • @homemaker2003 Thank you. The darker one, Willow, is still around. I lost Pippin just over two years ago. How funny that you have a matching pair! I hope you have them for many years and they make you laugh like mine have.

  • That guinea pig with the brown back, what a thumper he is!

  • Lol I made I cage like that but mines a bathroom and there food bowl is the minni toilet!! Great idea I think I should put carpet in my guinea pigs cage ! Lol they deserve it!

  • i absolutly ADORE your fleece, and you cute guinea pigs ! gosh they are so cute when they run and hop up to the platform. you are a great owner and i lovelovelove your setup !

  • what a spoiled guinea pigs! XD

  • I love this cage!! I love the little second level its very creative! Your guinea pigs seem very happy in that cage. :]

  • nice for winter should i buy a heat pad just learin awesome and were did u get the stuff to make it

  • @chezyteddie My house doesn't get below 60F, so I haven't needed heating pads. Please check out GuineaPigCages. com - they have a search for supplies and have more details on the type of grids you should get (or wire shelving if you can't find the grids).

  • @paintedthread i know the website for the grids it cheap ill make a video on it soon

  • I have a guinea pig and I hate cleaing her cage. I want to get a cage just like yours... Should I buy a cage or find the right materials bcuz I hav a very small cage now and I only have one guinea pig and its too crowded a.d it cost 50.00$ plz tell me

  • @98burton Build a cage. You can find the instructions on guineapigcages. com. You should be able to buy materials for under $50 if you shop around for the coroplast. A cage this size would cost well over $100.

  • @98burton i brought a guinea pig cage for £60 and i only have one guinea pig and its still small for her :( I'm planning on getting another guinea pig but for that i need a bigger cage which i'm going to try and make one when i move house and have a bigger room, which is soon :) hopefully

  • "maybe if i keep running in circles, lettuce will appear....."

  • Aww look at the little hammock

  • oh i thought i was missing something. I know exactly what you are talking about. I will get some on monday. My guinea pig absolutely loves lying on the fleece. I wish I could so, i would make her a little pillow. But i ordered a hammock from amazon and it should be here sometime this week.

  • but one question. How do you get your fleece to fit so perfectly? mine keeps moving around when they run on it

  • Kudos for the appropriately sized cage. That's so funny that one just jumps up on top of the loft, mine I think would want a ramp instead.

  • thank you so much for telling people how you made this. I just completed my own c&c cage just like this but I am having a bit of an issue when it come to sewing the fleece for the top

  • @longlostcurls I'm glad you found it useful!

  • @longlostcurls Ha! I had forgotten - do you know that rubber-mat stuff that they sell to line kitchen cabinets with or for putting under rugs? I had some of that between the coroplast and the fleece at the time I shot this video. I now have a pad that's the size of the floor that is a sandwich of fleece and flannel, and that also will keep it from sliding too much. And binder clips are your friend. If in doubt, binder clip it.

  • do they really use that hay bathroom?... is it a bathroom thingy? if so.. that's just awesome >w<)b

  • @kaos1109 The hay is to eat. They're not litter box trained. They pee and poo where ever they want in the cage.

  • whats that green grass stuff on the ground?

  • @saraurby77365 Corn husks are on the ground, hay is in the tissue box.

  • Your cage is so lovely!

    Cute guinea pigs also!

  • love your cage!

  • I really like the cream guinea pig is very cute!!

  • i LOVE this- very nice cage. and i love that little popcorn thing they do :)

  • do you need to have grids on the botem to make the cage

  • @bardock4250 It depends. I have to have grids on the bottom of this cage, because the table it sits on is smaller than the bottom of the cage. But if you had it on the floor, or on a big table, you would not need grids on the bottom of the cage.

  • hi..i love your split cage....mine looks like yours but doesnt have that loft...how can i make that...!!!

  • @JorgeAlfredoUrzua There's links to a how-to in the video description.

  • its a guinea pig workout

  • "I has a clean cage! popcorns!" Nice to see happy piggies.

  • do they lay in the hammock?

  • @PiinkBunniie Willow likes the hammock best, and would really sack out in it. Pippin would hang out in it every so often.

  • love da cage

  • Wow, that's a really nice set up! I'd love to do something like that for my mini lop after I move out.

  • hello, is their hidey hole cardboard or wood please?

  • @lindsschou

Its made of wood. Ash or aspen, I think.

  • Love these cages. I have 4 chinchillas. They would jump out in a second. I wish I could make them cages like this. :)

I use fleece for the cages. I made several floor pannels. While washing some I have extras to use. Much easier to keep cages clean. :)

  • that looks awesome!!!

  • i love the little ledge at the far end -- it reminds me of a coach =)

  • what is that thing you use for hay?

  • @gracelovechristian - its an empty Scotty's tissue box.

  • @paintedthread thank you for the idea. now my piggies not makinga big mess while eating their hay / grass. i upload some videos of they new tray.

  • won't the pigs pee on the fleece? its a cute idea. but my pigs would destroy it! unless you change the fleece. if thats what you mean about a clean cage. but still, love the pigs! :)

  • @bargudodo They do pee on the fleece. It needs to be changed often (which is why I tend to use shavings).

  • @bargudodo Yes. But they pee on shavings or any bedding. Fleece is cheap and only needs to be changed as often as any other bedding. In fact with spot cleaning fleece bedding can last longer before a change.

  • @bargudodo Yes they will pee on the fleece which is the whole idea, once fleece is washed 3+ times the urine will go straight through it which means your guinea pigs feet are nice and dry and it locks in some urine too. Underneath the fleece you put in some towels to soak up the urine, and a good idea is to put some newspaper under that too. It is the best bedding you can give your guinea pig, Doesn't smell if used right. Private message me for more info.

  • omg i love ur cage<33nd piggies...how did u make da cage???

  • @ILOVETHECNO9151

There are links how to build a cage like this in the expanded description of the video.

  • its kinda small.....

  • The cage? 2x3 is minimum for two pigs. That cage was nearly 2x4. Its not huge, but not small, either.

  • COULD YOU PLZ TELL ME WUT CAMERA UR USING ASAP!!IT HAS SUCH GOOD QUALITY!!!

  • Aww mine do that too! I love your fleece. My piggy would totally jump right out of the cage from that top level though, lmao. I have a video of my cage up too xD

  • Lol mine dose the same thing

  • Omg my guinea pig does the same thing!!!!

  • they're just too cute to be true

  • also what do u do when the fleece gets pooed and peed on?

  • There are links in the video description that have details on using fleece bedding. Click on the (more info) to see them.

  • don't they want to escape? Like hamsters and mice do it all the time?

  • Depends on the guinea pig, but generally speaking, no. If the cage is big enough, and they're happy enough, they're not likely to try leaping out of the cage.

  • cute pigs, cool cage, and nice fleece!! Great video :)

  • they have an awsome cage! very cute piggies!

  • cool cage!

  • the creamish and white looks like mine, only mine is albino! ^-^

  • cant they jump out???

  • They could, I think, if they put their mind to it. But my pigs are not interested in escaping, so this setup works well.

  • They can but not very high. All guinea pig cages with open tops have to be over 8 inches o r they are at risk of getting out. The c&c cages like this work good.

  • Pigs can climb, too, if they're motivated enough. I had a baby pig climb a 10" barrier to get to a pig on the other side. And I've seen videos of an adult clearing a 14" barrier in a single bound. So C&C cages work, as long as they're not determined to escape.

  • my guinea pigs popcorn in the morning non-stop until like 2 or 3 hours later hahaha its so funny!

  • lol thats so cute. Willow must be so happy!

  • thats a really cool cage

  • nice C&C cage!

  • how did u make the top??

  • Link to instructions are in the side-bar info.

  • aww cute piggies and loving ur cage

  • they are popcornning, they do it when exited. love your cage

  • Depends on if you need to grid the bottom of the cage. Minimum for a 2x3 cage is 10 grids. Minimum for a 1x2 loft is 6 grids. The cage I have pictured here, because of the bottoms grids, the extra support, and the ones used on the top, uses 26 grids total.

  • do you have to grid the bottom not the loft but the actual bottom? oh ok, ya i dont know how many grids i will get, bcuz i didnt get my c&c cage today i MIGHT get it tomorrow so ya... and i found a way how to make a c&c with 14-16 grids......a 2x 2 with a 1x1 loft or 1x2 loft if i have enough grids!

  • i think i will do a 2x3 with a 1x1 or 1x2 bcuz a 2x2 is WAYYYYY TO SMALL!

  • You have fast piggers. :)

  • Lol. the guinea pig that wasn't running around is probs rolling his/hers eyes lol

  • how did you make the loft! (or is it just grids)

  • Its just grids and coroplast.

  • I just Ordered a C&C Cage, Today And How Long Does it take till ill get it and i live in Australia?

  • What is your cage size 2x3?

  • Its a 2x3 with a 1x2 split-level extension.

  • Also, How many times do you clean the cage?

  • I don't normally use fleece bedding on the lower level - so I'm guessing it needs to be changed out every 3-7 days. They don't tend to pee on the upper level, so it gets changed every 2-3 weeks.

  • how do u get guinea pigs to not be shy? just hold them?

  • Great video! I love watching my own pigs in a clean cage, and your pigs are also very adorable (but what pig isn't?!). I like how you did your little loft across the whole cage, I've only ever made "bunk beds" with just one grid.

  • wow love the cage thats really creative eith the loft and fleece bedding i use flannel for my pet rats and my 2 gunie pigs.

  • that is a really creative cage i like it =]

  • omg seriously. i burst into the loudest most embarassing laugh when he jumped up on the 2nd level.

i have to teach my fatso how to jump

  • How often do you have to clean the fleece? OMG, I was wondering how your pigs got the the second level when he jumped up! My guinea is a coouch potoato.

  • i clean mine once a week and spot clean between that week

  • is a fleece bedding better than wood chips? How do you clean it?

  • Its personal preference - both wood chips and fleece have advantages and disadvantages. Most people shake it out and throw it in the washer.

I added a link to the information section to a page that goes into detail about fleece bedding.

  • The upper level is built the same as the lower level. Basic instructions can be found on the GuineaPigCages website. Its just a 1x2 grid cage. Never realized this loft was so popular! If you want specific instructions, email me.

  • NO! lol not the hammock. I mean the thing with the pink fleece, THE UPPER LEVEL.

  • how did you make the futon thing on the right corner?

  • The thing in the upper level? That's a hammock. You can buy one at any pet store, especially if they sell items for ferrets. Its basically just two square pieces of fabric sewn together, with loops of cord in the corners, and hooks to attach it to the grids.

  • does anyone know where i can buy chloroplast

  • Local places can be found on the GuineaPigCages website. But generally, coroplast (corrugated plastic) can be found at any sign shop (look in your yellow pages under "Signs"). Call around for the best price.

  • U must be really creative to do that how do u make a awsome cage like that so cool!

  • Instructions can be found on the GuineaPigCages website. They're inexpensive and easy to make!

  • thx but i still live with my mother and she wont let me:( i really wanna make one cause i love my guineas!

  • Would you like to mail the description of how you did that cage to me =) It´s the coolest cage I ever seen!

  • Absolutely. Its Willow's favorite place to hang out when the weather is warm.

  • do the guinea pigs actually use the hamock?

  • I'm interested in that loft you made, do you have any better views of that somewhere?

  • I do. I can't seem to post links on this - I will email them to you, along with instructions.

  • Could you please send them to me aswel? And how did your guinea pig jump that?I know they can jump high but my piggie is really lazy LOL

  • AWW adorable :) your piggies match! ~ creative cage

  • Isn`t it hard to clen fleece? How do you do?

  • I don't use fleece all the time for bedding. For those who do use it as a regular bedding, they just shake out the poo and hay, and throw it into the washing machine. Since I use it rarely (when on vacation, so I don't have to pack shavings) I end up hand washing it (time consuming!) after letting it soak in detergent, oxyclean and vinegar.

  • Okey =)

  • I use fleece all the time in my pigs' cage, I vacuum the poop, and then each week, I wash the towels and fleece after shaking off hay and hair.

  • Okey ^^ It look verry nice for the gunia pig to have fleece. I think I will use it in my cage later =) Thanks! But I think I´ll have one place in the cage with some other material in so they mabye can learn to poo there?

  • were would they do there poop though plz explain

  • They poop wherever - just as they would if I used shavings instead of fleece. The poos can be vacuumed or swept up or the fleece shaken out every day. Some people have a litter tray for their guinea pigs to use, but I was only using fleece for a few days, so I didn't set one up.

  • hahha1thats soo funny and cute!wow i love ur cage its soo big-aa!the piggies are rly cute!i wanna have a cage like that lol :)
