  • Damn, what a singer and what a performance! Dan was one of the best that's for sure! I miss looking forward to new releases from him. Gone way too soon.

  • Great Live performance

  • Interesting how this song knocks greed, and the accumulation of wealth; so very, very 70's. After the dollar crumbles, the next few decades are going to be horrible for those who weren't "under the power of gold." Only the rich will get to enjoy a human quality of life in all likelihood. (Spent the last 15 years partying, playing video games, watching movies and chasing women? Soon you're gonna wish you were making hay while the sun was shining.)

  • sounds like it was loud as hell.

  • love this song. so sad he is gone.

  • Hearing it for the first time on the Ken Bruce show was exactly the same way as I did, so I had to look it up, and it sounds even better on repeats.

  • Heard this song for the first time this am on the Ken Bruce show on Radio 2. What an awesome record!

  • I heard it too!! Never thought anyone would pick up on it tho'. Well done you!!

  • Thinking and missing Dan on this day. Looked at my framed copy of his birthday announcement this a.m. and could only smile and give thanks for the legacy of music he left us.

  • Excellent post. :0

    Great song.

    Awesome lyrics

    Thanks.:)

  • Hey Tim! Just stopping by to have a DF moment. That is Jim Photoglo singing background with Dan. I kept thinking that I recognized that voice. That may be Robert McKee on the right of Dan. Great song!

  • the power of his voice is better than the power of gold!!!

  • What a dynamic, kick-ass performance. DF was one of our best ... !

  • Dan the Man: This song live is the best. This version OK:

His 2 CD live version much better.

In concert this song was superlative.

I feel so lucky to have experienced it a few times in Southern California.

  • I saw him in concert in Austin around '84 and i was stunned by the power of his unassisted voice. It was the singing of a true magician/musician.

  • Thanks for posting this video.

  • He could really sing his ass off. He was one of the best artists ever... He was better looking without the beard as we could really see the man behinf the songs.. He had a presance that just drew you in...
