Your pubs are inside, Parisian cafés are open on the streets. And Paris have depth. Even in a lifetime, you will never know Paris ; a long week-end is just enough to see a couple of tourist hot spots, not more. ;-)

Paris does not have a beach or alpine panorama in the background. It does, however, have a river and charming bridges. All European cities need a river to add the charm. Paris is the quintessential European city, but on a large scale. Got to learn French, then I will enjoy it in its entirely, hopefully the French. I really would love to live in Paris when the time is right for me. However, I don't want my experience there to be ruined by people's arrogant and rude behavior. I know of peole who have been there and say that many of the Parisian's are cold and unwilling to welcome "others". What do you guys think? What are your experiences? I went to Paris on a tour with Image Tours. We went to 7 different countries. Our last 2 days were in France and ending the final night in Paris. Unfortunately, I was mugged just outside the hotel by 2 muslim men in the parking lot of our so called 5 star hotel. When I called the Paris police Dept.,the officer told me that this happens so frequently in Paris to tourists, that they don't come to make a report or investigate it. This infuriated me. Needless to say, I will never go back to Paris!

The Metropolitan police tried to run me over twice the same week my best friend was murdered in a hit and run which the police said was suicide. On repeated occasions they have warned me that I will be shot i.e. executed by them if I don't keep my mouth shut. They did these things because hundreds of residents of kensington and chelsea goaded them into it and also because, according to them, I was looking at my watch.
Presently they are engaging in an extra-judicial punishment and torture of somebody they know has a profound mental health problem. They have even gone to the extent of enlisting the French police into going into every shop and restaurant in the Champ-Elysee and spreading one-sided bullshit about someone known to suffer from paranoid schizophrenia. If you don't believe any of this, next time you are in Paris, ask the person serving you in the Champ-Elysee to confirm it

i've been to paris and it is an amazing city

I was in Paris in '05. Still cant forget about Paris. After Paris I visited a lots of europe cities, but no one of that didnt fall in my memory. No charming,people dont understand english,streets are dirty,but Paris... Its a fairytale! Frenchmen(I mean men and women) are so charming,open-minded,polite. There are a lots of good natured people. I am russian. I love french culture,french music,France, frenchmen!) I saw a lots of european cities and europeans,but France and frenchmen are the best!

I really would love to live in Paris when the time is right for me. However, I don't want my experience there to be ruined by people's arrogant and rude behavior. I know of peole who have been there and say that many of the Parisian's are cold and unwilling to welcome "others". What do you guys think? What are your experiences? I would really appreciate honest insights.

@drunkandangry Parisers are not cold and are very generous... but the minimum is to speak a basic french and to be always polite (rules of politeness are not negotiable in France.)

For met the good french people, don't come to paris ! They are more rich than other french and really really arrogant ! They think that paris is the only city in France and the rest are just mountain or campaign ! MDR. Those who say that the French are arrogant and are irritated have only visited Paris! (and a lot of french tourist are parisian!!!)

Paris has it good people and it's bad. I live in Atlanta,Ga and I would have to say that the people in the ATL are alot ruder than Parisian people. Don't be a typical rude American Tourist and most people will be nice to you.

I went to Paris on a tour with Image Tours. We went to 7 different countries. Our last 2 days were in France and ending the final night in Paris. Unfortunately, I was mugged just outside the hotel by 2 muslim men in the parking lot of our so called 5 star hotel. When I called the Paris police Dept.,the officer told me that this happens so frequently in Paris to tourists, that they don't come to make a report or investigate it. This infuriated me. Needless to say, I will never go back to Paris!

If you don't believe any of this, next time you are in Paris, ask the person serving you in the Champ-Elysee to confirm it

truthfully have you been to Paris?? you cant say its boring by looking at pictures!! And No I have not been to Amsterdam but I have some close friends who have been there and they said things there were really overpriced! There is a lot of pickpocketing that goes on there they also said.

I've been to both Paris and Amsterdam, and they're both lovely cities. My personal preference is Paris - I think it is much prettier. But that's not to insult Amsterdam- it was so much fun! Paris just has more touristy things to see.

Hwy, dont moan about Africans in Paris, theyr'e far worse in St Tropez and Port Grimaud, they follow you all day selling you nuts. So you buy some to make em go away and they just come after us saying 'Nuts, nuts, you wanna buy nuts, Les écrous, les écrous, vous achetez des écrous.' The street merchants in Paris are quiet and don't stalk you. Haha. :)

It's not just the place that's beautiful The people there too are beautiful, both in looks and personality. Lively debates over philosophy and politics are commonplace in Paris although some are really philosophie de comptoir (bar room philosophy).

I do not find this video truly representative, it only shows the old buildings, then it is a very dynamic modern city where everything goes very quickly! I find this very kind of video shots! And yes this town is magical and beautiful! With many cultures mix a lot like I lived two years down the I miss it!
