one thing I always had hard time getting.

when there is a mess pride fight, or even hyena clans fights, there are many lions/hyenas, so how they can tell who's with who ? animals go by smell and look, but when there are many animals involved and they all look the same, and the lions/hyenas are angry, I bet they fight the same pride/clan members.

That is very true. I broke that scene down to it's individual pictures and found that in slow motion the attacking lion as she stepped back from the initial attack spun to her right and bit one of her own pride. They move so fast though you can't really notice it in the video.

hehe no they weren't playing. I imagine the pride males for both prides were off marking their territory, typically matches like this don't occur with the pride males at home. Because they will stand at the front and roar at each other to proclaim territory and the fight you saw doesn't follow.

No, I figure the tail had a mishap when that lioness was a cub probably. At the start though you can see lions on both sides of the bus, it was 2 different prides. It looks like one because the female that started it got mistakenly attacked by some of her own pride.

It's always interesting to watch lions interact. Search Kevin Richardson lions here on youtube, I think you'll be amazed at that guy. He has30 or so lions, his own pride.

He does really well with them, they have a huge range for the lions there. Kevin uses them to make commercials, the money he makes from that goes towards the care of the lions. The 2 males he raised from cubs and consider him their brother. He also has hyenas and leapords and cheetahs.
