The ones in my tanks are not hybrids.But I have noticed some dark blue and white striped ones amongst the shoals of these.Never managed to catch one!These fish are able to tolerate a wide range of water conditions.These live in a lake in the Arava desert that is fed by artesian wells.The water is very heavily mineralsied.I mean if you were dying of thirst, you still couldn't drink it.But these fish thrive in it feeding on the algae.
But this is an "on-going" program.If you check the subsequent videos you will see that now I am not returning the air from the compressor to the aquarium.The air from the discharge goes out into the "ozone-friendly" local air whilst the vacuum draws in fresh air from outside.
After 24 hours running, there was a film of oil on the top of the water in the inverted section.I syphoned this off with the vacuum-pump. I suppose I could make a "mini-oil-separator" to remove oil.These units are available commercially but not for such small compressors.
