  • FYI. George W. Bush signed the new lighting law promoting CFL's back in 2007. It's got nothing to do with Obama.

  • lololoolooololloloooolollllololollolololololohahhhhahahaahhahahahahahahahahahah

  • GE should retool the factories, teach the American employees to start making the new LED light bulbs. GE's power in far reaching. GE dictates government policy. They lobby Dems and Repubs. It's GE's decision to close this plant and ship manufacturing to a cheaper labor force. I also feel the Government ban on incandescent bulbs is also back by companies like GE. See this video on youtube... Light Bulbs, Mr Stinky Paints and the CFL

  • Fun fact: GE tried to patent tungsten. It might seem a bit silly since it was discovered 130 years earlier by the Swede Carl Wilhelm Scheele.

  • there were 13 US factories employing 1000's of people that made the Edison incandescent light bulbs until the fascist Federal Government outlawed them.. according to the Green Hell advocates the US factories would then start making the silly straw flourescent CFL bulbs.. but what happened? now the CFLs are all being made in ...China probably with the same contaminated materials they put in everything else

  • @tomsurfing007 No one has ever outlawed incandescent light bulbs! The only law was a Republican one under Bush that required bubs be more energy efficient.

I suppose you'd prefer we keep wasting more electricity than most nations use? We have nothing but fluorescent bulbs in our house & the only difference is that our electricity bill is far lower than it used to be.

  • @tcanders123 u have nothing but flourecent bulbs in your house?? Eww your home must look like the inside of a hospital waiting room with all those gloomy lights. Why do u care what people do in THEIR own homes? If im the man paying for my electric bill, then I will decide what kind of bulbs i want. All you greenies and lib-tards are too much into other ppl's business instead of worrying about urselfs. Ppl like u want the world to live being paranoid. I'l stick with my warm lighting from edisons.

  • @noreaga12326 My home looks just as warm & bright as yours or anyone's.

And seems Conservatives (I'll act like an adult, & refrain from your childish name calling) don't want others or government in their business, but have no problem telling everyone else who they can marry, what women can do with their bodies, etc.

  • @tcanders123 i cant see how your home looks warm and bright when cfls dont give off warm lighting. As u probably know, cfls and incandescents do not look the same. I normally dont speak for anyone else but MOST ppl would agree that cfls dont give off the same warm light as incandescents cuz its just impossible for any kind of flourecent lights to give off the same light output as incands. As far the other things u speak out on, I am nobody to tell anyone who they can marry or what women can do

  • @noreaga12326 That's your opinion, but there are millions of people who agree with me & have nothing but CFLs. So go ahead & happily use your ancient bulbs while you can. Just as with DDT, asbestos, & lead paint .. they are outdated & doomed to the past.

  • @tcanders123 i sure will.. Who gives a shit if incandescents are ancient. Thats what I've always used and always provided me with great natural and warm lighting. Just because technology is new, doesnt mean its good. Enjoy incandescents while i can? I will be enjoying them for a LIFETIME. I have enough stocked up to easily last me a life time and to give in my will. You enjoy your gloomy cfls while i'l enjoy my nice warm and acient ligthing

  • @noreaga12326 You're right, technology isn't always good, but if you think CFLs look any different than the old light bulbs, you've never seen a CFL. My house is not the least bit gloomy. The ONLY difference is my electric bill is a Hell of a lot lower than yours.

And will be even lower, as I will be switching to the new LED screw in bulbs.

    Stop living in the past!

  • @tcanders123 If i was living in the past, i would still be using a typewriter instead of a computer and i wouldnt be using cell phones. Those are just a few examples of new and IMPROVED technology. CFLs and LEDs are new but their light quality IN MY OPINION, sucks. So if me using nicer and warm natural lighting means that im living in the past, so be it. i've seen PLENTY of cfls in all sorts of colors. Just admit u have a bad eyesite for thinking that cfls have "warm light".

  • @noreaga12326 Admit you're an idiot for refusing to accept the FACT that millions of people prefer CFLs and the light they give. If you were at my house & didn't see the bulbs, you would never in a million years think we had CFLs.

  • @tcanders123 awww look how angry i got u.. now u have to call names. Very mature of u dude. 1st off, statistics show that MOST ppl are against the bulb ban and prefer incandescents. I dont know what planet you're living on but you need to come back to earth. Listen to the news and read the paper. Millions of people AROUND THE WORLD are stocking up on incandescents. I love the fact that i can start off the week by ruining ur day. Just admit that ur angry cuz most ppl hate cfls

  • @noreaga12326 First, who started their earlier response with the dumb ass phrase 'libertard'? YOU!

Admit you're no brighter than a burnt out 25 watt bulb, & you're the one who is angry because the world is passing you by, & you want to cling kicking & screaming to your darling old fashioned light bulbs. Well, enjoy, your & their days are numbered, as the smarter people will move on & take over.

    Enjoy hoarding those ancient artifacts!

  • @tcanders123 i started this debate thinking that i can get through your pea-sized brain but i guess not. I dont know what country you're living in but the world is actually passing YOU by because you hardly watch the news or pick up the paper. 1st off, not all incandescents are being banned in the USA. rough service lights, 3way, flood lights, colored bulbs, and decorative lights such as (candelabras) ARENT being banned. Incandescents still and ALWAYS will have their places over ur gloomy CFLS

  • @tcanders123 CFLs dont work in all fixtures in your home. Most of the fixtures that we have in our homes only work with incandescents. Of course u can change ur fixtures if ur a cfl lover. But why in the world would anyone wana pay all that $ to change fixtures for ugly cfls.Yes, my bulbs are "ancient" but their light quality is nicer and pleasent. Let me guess, last christmas you put up "flourecent christmas lights" to save a few bucks?? lol... dude get real, you're a mentally disturbed greenie

  • @noreaga12326 CFLs work in almost every fixture we have. The only ones they don't fit in are the fridge & one chandelier. Didn't have to change a single fixture.

And 'nicer & pleasant' are subjective terms. If you like them fine, but a lot of people prefer CFLs.

As for Xmas, when I need new bulbs I do buy LEDs, b/c they're much brighter AND use far less juice. It's a win win!

But I suppose you wish we still had leaded gas, asbestos, DDT, etc.

  • @tcanders123 u said "Well, enjoy, your & their days are numbered, as the smarter people will move on & take over." Smarter?? Really?? you greenies promote toxic light bulbs that will eventually pollute our landfills. Your brain is about as dim as a gloomy cfl bulb. Ppl like u want the world to live being paranoid about the planet. U probably think that incandescents are causing the ice in the artic to melt. lol.. Dude you seriously are a moron! whether u like it or not, most ppl hate CFLs

  • @noreaga12326 Like it or not, you're wrong, and you sure do not speak for most people. You're an idiot if you think incandescent bulbs don't pollute, not to mention all the extra electricity that has to be generated to run the damn things.

There's a world of difference between paranoia - which you obviously suffer from - and concern. I'll take the word of most scientists over that of a few dimwits.

CFLs are clearly far brighter than you and your ilk.

  • @tcanders123 It's good that we have different bulbs so that everybody can have a choice in what they want. Here in America, they should ENCOURAGE us to save energy. Not ban a product and force people to use something where theres no proof that its good for the country. The fact that they wana force us not to use incandescents is proof that YOU and your green friends are the ones who are paranoid. The last time i checked, america is the land of the free, not the land of the government

  • @noreaga12326 I agree. But no one has ever banned incandescent light bulbs! The only law was a Republican one under Bush that required bulbs be more energy efficient. No one is taking away anyone's choice.

  • @tcanders123 What u said is partically correct. its not really a ban on incandescents. Its actually an efficiency standard, which a lot of incandescents will meet. However. there are 2 things u fail to point out. 1) any incandescents that dont meet the standard, WILL be banned. That includes the 40 60 70 and 100 watt bulbs. 2) in 2020, a 2nd and STRICTER efficiency light bulb standard will take place which almost all incandescents probably wont be able to meet, in which they will be banned

  • @noreaga12326 But there are already bulbs, have been for years! - that use less than 100 watts but give off as much light as an old 100 watt bulb.

In any event, we can't have it both ways. So many Americans gripe about oil prices & dependency of foreign oil, but we still waste more energy than most countries use.

  • @tcanders123 Yes, but thats my point, Its not up to government to tell people how much energy they should or not use in their own homes. Next, government will wana call the energy police because on these cold winter days, I'l have my heat on more than usual. and yes, incandescents do give off more heat than light, but i see nothing wrong with added heat in the winter, especially here in the north east. In the summer, i just dont use the light as much. Very simple

  • @tcanders123 the point that im trying to make is the government should make sensible laws so that we can live in a civilized and safe environment. But banning a product such as light bulbs is going way too far. Next government is going to wana ban flip phones because iphones are available. I see nothing wrong with iphones but if people wana use old skol flip phones, they who is government to tell ppl what phones they can use. government is way too much in people's shorts and it has to stop

  • @noreaga12326 Again - no one is banning any light bulbs! Obama didn't close any factory. CEOs do that, just to further line their pockets at workers & America's expense.

  • @tcanders123 Dude, do a google search and read the article. I already told u that some incandescents will meet the efficiency standard so they will not be banned. Any light bulbs that dont meet the efficiency standard WILL BE BANNED. Bush may have signed this into law but Obama is defnitely involved in this too. He DID close the factory and shipped American jobs else where. So now these people are out of a job thanks to Bush, Obama and these moron tree huggers.

  • @noreaga12326 Obama doesn't own that factory, & had NOTHING to do with closing it!! That's just conservative BS. Get real, corporate execs are the real terrorists in America, & their goal is to have all jobs but their own automated or in some other cheaper country. I've worked in corporate America for over 30 years .. I know what I'm talking about.

  • @tcanders123 As i said b4, obama is in on these efficiency standards as well. In fact theres a video of him telling business and people to go green. Hes not encouraging them, hes TELLING people that they have to save energy. I have no problem with recycling bottles, keeping a clean environment etc etc but again, we are talking about a freaking light bulb. When you FORCE people to use products they dont want, the end result usually isnt good. The end result here is people stocking up.

  • @noreaga12326 He still had NOTHING to do with that factory closing. And again .. if not forced, we'd still be using lead paint, leaded gas, and asbestos. That's why all through history people have had government ... the average mass of people aren't capable enough to be relied upon.

  • @tcanders123 there u go again, comparing lead paint, leaded gas and asbestos to light bulbs. Why is it that you greenies come up with the same comparisons when we're talking about the light bulb ban? Incandescents have been around for more than 100 years. If they were really that bad for us, not only would they have banned them a long time ago, but they would of made them illegal to have. Again, if American's wana use incandescents, they should be able to do so without government interference

  • @tcanders123 u said "He still had NOTHING to do with that factory closing". try telling that to these workers and their families that they have to feed. If you're mom dad or sibling was one of the workers of this factory, i'm sure u wouldnt take it so lightly. By them setting efficiency standards to light bulbs, its the SAME THING as telling americans that they HAVE TO buy efficient lights. Again, in America they should encourage people to save energy. Not force people and restrict their choices

  • @noreaga12326 How does some greedy corporation moving a factory elsewhere so the rich execs can get richer become the President's fault??? When will people realize that the so called 'job creators' are a bunch of greedy money grubbing a-holes who would sell their mothers for a fast buck?

  • @tcanders123 As the pres. Obama could of done something to prevent the closing of this plant. Yes, Bush signed this crazy light bulb efficiency law but again, Obama is also in on this too. Heres an example of the Obamas wanting to control ppls lives. a few years ago his wife wanted to tax people on buying soda because of how unhealthy soda is. I agree that soda is unhealthy but when u tax someone, its gona drive people away from buying the product which can hurt business owners. Use ur brain!

  • @noreaga12326 Conservatives are always saying government should stay out of business, but now you say he should have stepped in & prevented a company from closing a factory?? Make up your mind!!

  • @tcanders123 you knuckle head, the presidents job is to run the country, and to do good for the people Not forcing people out of business because he doesnt agree with how its run. American's think very well which is why we are the best and most powerful nation in the world. What planet are u living on buddy?

  • @noreaga12326 How many other countries have you lived in to be able to say which is best? It's so utterly stupid - like when kids say 'my school is #1!!". America is one of the best places to live, generally, but in no provable way is it THE best.

And get it though your head - the President didn't force GE to close it's factory. GE's execs did, because they're greedy SOBs.

  • @tcanders123 its a proven fact that this country is the best and powerful. maybe in YOUR eyes it isnt the best but im not surprised. you dont seem to enjoy freedom and dont mind government telling u how to live your life. GE AND the president worked together to close down the light bulb factory. So yes, i agree that GE also had something to do with it but Obama is also in on this too whether u wana believe it or not.

  • @noreaga12326 Proven how? What are your facts? We rank about 10th according to almost any survey as the best country to live in.

You obviously don't know anything about business. You actually think the President sat down with the execs at GE & worked out a plan to close a factory?? If you believe that, I have a bridge & some magic beans I'm sure you'd love!

  • @tcanders123 the proof is on the news. MAYB the news media is bull shitting the public but i saw something on CNN that obama ordered that light bulb factory to be shut down. what proof do YOU have that only GE is on on this? Do u work for GE? Have u spoken to anyone from GE about this matter?? I'm willing to bet that u havent

  • @noreaga12326 You clearly know nothing about government or business. A president has no authority to order a business to close a plant. Moreover, why would he? What would he gain from it? Show me a link to an actual news article that has any proof or ever indication that Obama ordered GE to close a plant.

Then, go read the Constitution and take a few basic business courses.

  • @tcanders123 i saw it on TV not on a utube video. i know u wana stick up or cover up for your controlling, democratic parties like OBAMA but facts are facts. as i said, GE and Obama worked together to shut down the bulb factory whether u wana believe it or not. Watch tv or read the newspaper more often instead of spending ur life on utube videos

  • @tcanders123 I saw it on the news, not on a utube video. I know that u wana stick up for your controlling, democratic buddies but facts are facts, GE AND Obama worked together to shut down the plant. People like you dont care about the nation. All you care about is congress wanting to control everyone's life. Your brain is about as foggy as the California smog

  • @noreaga12326 Where on the news? The only references to it are on ultra-conservative blogs - in other words B.S!

You're either a fool or a liar if you think Obama had anything to do with it!

You probably believe Iraq had WMDs, that there was a 2nd shooter on the grassy knoll, & that there's an area 51!

People like me DO care about the U.S. & understand how & why it was founded.

Finally, you sad brainless child ... my home is warm & bright, accept it & accept that you're dead wrong.

  • @tcanders123 dude its ok if you're in denial. Keep sticking up for obama and the rest of these controlling democrats. Eventually they will go down the tubes and America will get our freedom back when we elect better people to run for congress. your home is warm and bright with CFLS?? lol.. your eye sight is probably messed up thinking that a flourecent light has WARM LIGHT. You crack me up

  • @noreaga12326 You're the one in denial, clinging to your old bulbs. The rest of the world will pass you by. I'll see if I can ind some asbestos & DDT in a landfill for you.

Funny how Republicans are all for free market, unless it affects their narrow view of the world. They also want business out of our lives, except to tell people who they can marry, what women can do with their own bodies, & which religion is the American one!

Take your Red states & leave, we'll be better off without you!

  • @tcanders123 Dude im not going anywhere. YOU need to leave this country since you dont appreciate freedom. America was fine until you tree huggers came along. Once again, you're making extreme comparisons to make yourself look better. its not going to work.comparing incandescents to asbestos makes u look silly. Comparing asbestos to what women can do with their body has nothing to do with light bulbs. Thats a different debate. Next you're gona tell me that cfls still stop global warming..

  • @noreaga12326 People will think the nut job is the guy hoarding light bulbs! I live in a major city, work at a huge company, & though I know some people who don't prefer CFLs, I haven't met anyone who thinks they're bad, or anyone who's concerned about switching over. In fact, Home Depot is one of or largest clients, & they say CFLs are selling far more than incandescents, have been for years. But typical conservative, don't let little things like FACTS get in your way/

  • @noreaga12326 America was fine?!? You mean when the air was so polluted people were dying? When rivers were so polluted they actually caught fire? That kind of fine??

  • @tcanders123 Back then, the waters werent polluted and our air wasnt dirty. you CLAIM it was dirty because people like you are paranoid about anything and everything. I've lived in NYC all my life where we have the best drinking water in most the nation. Next you're gona tell me we should ban vehicles because they pollute the air. Or perhaps banning my spray on deodorant may clean up the air a bit. You and all your leaf eating friends are cry babies, which is why u wana FORCE ppl to buy products

  • @noreaga12326 You're insane! How old were you in the 60's? I was there bub, & it was WAY worse than now! City drinking water is fine, but our rivers and lakes were polluted as Hell! How else do you explain the Cuyahogo river catching on fire THIRTEEN TIMES??? You do realize that New York, Chicago & every city used to just dump their untreated sewage & industrial output right into rivers & lakes?

Now go away, you're childishness & lake of knowledge bores me.

  • @tcanders123 "now go away, youi're childish & lake knowledge bores me. I'm not going anywhere. Maybe this is too much for u to take. light bulbs are not contributing to dirty water u moron. Again, if u dont mind government forcing u to use products, that's your business. MOST people would rather make their own choices. my incandescent bulbs are not dirtying up anything, so YOU go away with ur BS... lib-tard

  • @noreaga12326 What you know about this would fit in an LED! ENERGY PRODUCTION DOES POLLUTE AIR & WATER, & CFLs USE FAR LESS ENERGY - LESS THAN 1/4 AS MUCH!!

CFLs have a total mercury emission of 1.6 milligrams

Your bulbs have a total mercury emission of 5.8 milligrams

Most people are making their choice, for the obviously better CFL.

There's a point where government, which knows better, has to push the ignorant masses (i.e. YOU!) along.

Have a nice day choking on facts you don't like!

  • @tcanders123 "Most people are making their choice, for the obviously better CFL. The fact that u think that CFLs are better, is YOUR opinion. dude, look at all the people who are hoarding incandescent bulbs. If CFLs were really better than incandescents, consumers would buy them with out government regulations. use your brain, moron. If you wana be the government's bitch and do whatever it tells u to, go ahead. But most ppl here in the states would rather make up their own minds.

  • @noreaga12326 Which leaves you out - in that you obviously have no mind of your own.

Why then do Ace Hardware, True Value, Menards, Home Depot, Lowes all carry & sell far more CFLs than incandescents?

So you & a few or your Right Wing buddies are hoarding. Probably did the same before Y2K, huh?

  • @tcanders123 "Which leaves you out - in that you obviously have no mind of your own." Really? Since you're doing whatever government tells u, YOU'RE the one who doesnt have a mind of your own, I made up my mind not to use CFLS because of their light quality. And i think i would rather make up MY mind than government do it for me. Those stores probably sell more CFLs because you green bastards in congress forced them to do so.

  • @tcanders123 i dont have a mind of my own? You're the one doing whatever government wants u to. So how dont i have a mind of my own? If CFLs save energy, its because they're as bright as a candle. if u ever went to a fancy resturant, you'd notice that it looks more attractive with incandescents. And i think its safe to say that most ppl who wana get romantic with their loved ones would rather have dimmed INCANDESCENTS. Who in their right mind would wana have flourecent lights in a fancy place?

  • @tcanders123 (CONTINUED) Probably you. Well luckly for me, many incandescents are exempted from this crazy ban. See, if incandescents were that bad and harmful to the planet, they wouldnt have any exempt. Whether u like it or not, incandescents always have and always will have their place. I see nothing wrong with saving energy but i'm not using ugly lighting to do it. And for u to think that using cfls will help clean the planet makes u look like a nut job. Keep them coming

  • @noreaga12326 Those who hoard are the nut jobs. Congress forced these huge corporations to do something??? HA HA HA!!! Corporations RUN the damn government ... especially when Conservatives are in charge. Paranoia is an illness my friend. Seek help soon! Now shoo shoo little one, you bore me. Tilt at windmills elsewhere.

  • @tcanders123 "Paranoia is an illness my friend. which is why your green friends wana force others to use cfls. People like u want the world to use "energy savings" dishwashers and washing machines. the "inefficient" ones did a great job. so why get rid of them? u know why?? cuz not jobs like you are paranoid. If u werent so paranoid, u would encourage people to use energy saving products. Not run them out of business. "sho sho little one " aka.. this is too much for u. Post more please

  • @noreaga12326 CFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFLCFL

  • @tcanders123 lol awwwwwwwwwwww look at how crazy i got u going. Is this what u do when people disagrees with u? Go go crazy?? I love it!! Keep them coming

  • @noreaga12326 Nope, done with you/ It's not worth my time & besides, just talking to you is lowering my IQ. Night night, Luddite!

  • @tcanders123 lowering your IQ? i can hardly tell the difference. Night to u too and enjoy your toxic gloomy swirly lights while i'l be here enjoying the warm and cozyness of my good old incandescents :)

  • @tcanders123 face it, many people have hoarded incandescents and well after 2014, we will still be using them. I bet that makes u wana call the light bulb cops on me now. going green is for nut cases like u. come on, keep going crazy so i can watch u slowly suffer :D

  • @tcanders123 why do u care how much energy other people use in THEIR homes? Its none of your business what me and other people use in our homes. Worry about what YOU use and quit being a little busy body. I'm the guy paying the bills. if i wana burn energy 24 hours a day, thatst what i'l do. if u wana use CFLS, fine. But to force others to do it is the reason why MANY ppl are hoarding incandescents. I can go on forever with u on this subject. So please keep the posts coming.

  • @tcanders123 yeah im hoarding light bulbs because unlike you, i have good taste. See, if you're not proud of how your house looks, and wana make the inside of your house look like the inside of a shopping mall by using gloomy lights, knock yourself out.i dont mind government encouraging people to use energy efficient products. But you're too blind to see that they're FORCING people to use cfls because they know that MOST ppl dont like them. All that mercury you're inhaling is killing ur brain

  • @tcanders123 you're probably one of those insane nutjobs who constantly writes letters to the white house complaining about every little thing. if you're so concerned about "energy savings" then you outa write a letter to Obama and ask him why he keeps his lights on 24.7. If u ask me, thats not saving energy. You lib-tards need to practice what u preach. This coming from someone who thinks that incandescents are responsible for "global warming" ..lol lol.. you really are a nut job

  • @noreaga12326 No one ever said they're responsible for it, but they add to it. See, you're oblivious to facts. But what should I expect from a Conservative, people who deny evolution, think cavemen rode dinosaurs, want government out of their lives but tell other people who they can marry, & think the U.S. is or ever was a Christian nation! You probably also think Obama doesn't have a birth certificate, that he's a Muslim, etc. etc. etc. Juts shut up & go suck an incandescent bulb!

  • @tcanders123 Once again, we're not talking about "government telling who they can marry" etc etc. Where did i ever say that government can tell ppl who to marry?? Dont put words in my mouth. thats what YOU're claiming. I love the fact that i can get u so upset that you tell ppl to "shut up". you're a typical tree hugger. Getting bent outa shape like a little b*tch when someone disagrees with your childish views. Please post more so i can watch you go crazy some more on here. You're making my day

  • @noreaga12326 I notice you conveniently ignore all the facts. Why? 1) You know you're wrong. 2) You're a typical Conservative.

If we keep chatting an actual fact or logical thought may get through your head, & that could be fatal. I'll go talk to a stump or brick wall ... that will be a more interesting conversation than talking to you.

  • @tcanders123 The great thing is that not only will there be exemptions of this so called "light bulb efficiency" but most people are smart enough not to fall for these silly green scams. Millions of people around the globe have hoarded the old fashioned light bulbs. Again, its not up to government to determine how much energy I wana use in MY own home. America is the land of the free. All you tree huggers wana turn this country into a communist nation. Unbelievable!

  • @tcanders123 Thankfully, there will be exemptions to this crazy efficiency standard, such as 3-way bulbs, bug lights, plant lights, flood lights, rough service and decorative bulbs such as the candelabra. As i told u b4 my friend, incandescents will always have their place. to me, CFLs are not appropiate in a lot of applications. And they certainly are not winning any style points, especially when it comes to decorative lighting.

  • @tcanders123 Its hard to take u seriously, Especially coming from someone who thinks that CFLs have "warm lighting color" and who thinks that cfls and LEDs are brighter. Again, this so called "bulb standard" is meaningless. Well after 2014, most of us will have hundreds of boxes of good old incandescents whether u like it or not. Your house must look like the inside of a hospital ER room with those gloomy CFLs u got.. lol

  • They just can't seem to keep their sticky greedy fingers out of anything! Never anything good for the people! More and more theft from those on thrones. And now here comes their children with their higher educations on NBC?? Time to turn off the tv! Hell will freeze over before I watch the Bush bitches or Chelsey Clinton's ugly face.

  • How sad most people do not see this coming ! ! !

  • FUCK OBAMA ..he is NIGGER shit !!!!

  • @patriciaannpat Wow! You must have been Valedictorian of your special education retard class!

  • @patriciaannpat congrats on beein rational

  • HOW STUPID this Republican guys think we can be? The hordes of Republican IMBECILES using anything they can; to play their MORONIC political games of demoting the Democrats. One of the few useful laws enacted by Bush, to help end the energy addiction of this country, being enforced by Obama. The natural evolution of technology working on our favor. LEDs produce the same amount of light using 80% LESS energy. see the number.... 8 0 % LESS

  • @RDELAPLAZA

The Republicans and Democrates are now just the opposite sides of the same coin! And for your information, the major beneficiary of the U.S. "green energy policy" is China. The U.S. is not the leader in solar tech and there isn't one LED manufacturer in the U.S. Both of the these products are now mainly produced by the Chinese; so go ahead and use 80% less energy. I'm sure China will not mind taking 100% of your money.

  • @357223308 Maybe the US should have considered this before investing zero effort in all the energy technologies of the future, and choosing instead to push through with what turned a profit while it lasted. China went with the future, knowing that the US is not the future, but the past. American capitalism ate itself through monopoly and greed.

  • @nakedmambo

No argument from me on those points... capitalism was a very beneficial factor to the greatness of the U.S. and it is really sickening to see that it has been mutated by greed and corruption into something that benefits a select few while gradually destorying the U.S.

  • @douggie7772010 a million monkeys typing wrote "I WANT MY STUFF MADE IN THE USA NOT FUCKING MEXICO THIS COUNTRY IS SELLING TOO MUCH TO THE WETBACKS!!!! "

Please return to Mexico the stolen (disguised as a sale) territories of California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Since when anybody in a country has the right to "SELL" part of his country to somebody. Ask the americans if any president can sell part of the country.. YEAH RIGHT !!

... Talking about STEALING... Thank you Very Much.

  • @douggie7772010 Good .. violence is the weapon of those that don't have the reason or brains to recognize they are freaking wrong, you dumbasss redneck. I am an american citizen. You stupid and I'm not afraid of your threats or stupid rants, same as you the constitution gives me the right to bear arms to face people like you, Thanks. . I can see your intelligence level... in your comments. nice brains... NOT.

You hateful rants don't deserve to be read or even looked at. Looser.

  • Obama is a freaking idiot.

  • @84randomdude Hmm, graduated from Harvard Law School, but is an idiot? Stop blaming the President for crap that has nothing to do with him or the government. Blame the damn CEOs ... they're the ones who lay people off to make a few more bucks. If you think otherwise, you're a "freaking" idiot.

  • @tcanders123 Sorry, I have a strong dislike for that idiot "Obama" anyway.

  • @84randomdude You must have loved that genius 'Bush' then.

  • @tcanders123 both stink

  • @67tr876 Both bush AND obama do stink. The president's approval rating is proof that hes doing a terrible job running this country. Its time we vote him out b4 he does more damage

  • @noreaga12326 Approval polls only show what a sampling of people think, & as we know based on what crap we watch eat & listen to here .. Americans generally don't think too well.

  • They need to make job outsourcing illegal. That will create millions of jobs instantly.

  • @Jerkwad152 You have Bill Clinton to thank for that. He's the one that signed the NAFTA bill. That's the North American Free Trade Agreement. Those slimy bottom feeding politicians in Washington have sold our country to the large corporations. We the people no longer count. God help us.

  • although i think obama is a piece of shit in every way, this was bush's law, passed years ago. not obama's doing.you can blame obama for so many detrimental policies, but not this one. sorry

  • @whitemanwaydownsouth Wrong. Bill Clinton passed that law.

  • @buddybleau george bush in 2007 signed the ban into law

  • @whitemanwaydownsouth What part of NAFTA don't you understand?

  • @buddybleau look it up , george bush signed the bill into law banning incandescent light bulbs. yes, clinton fucked us up with nafta, but this was not clinton. simple as a google search.

  • MidNightRider, you obviously don't bother with "truth" or "real facts" when you can so easily perpetrate misinformation via the internet.

  • what really sucks is that Obama administration gave GE a huge amount of stimulus money!

I will not buy the new CFLs. They have to many heath hazzards. I have been hoarding incandesants for 2 years now. I have About 25 cases of bulbs. I think there are 48 bulbs to the case. Starting in 2012 we will no longer be able to buy incandesants here in the USA

  • Obama fails so hard.

  • Did ya know those new light bulbs that are surpose to be energy effenant , they said old bulbs had to much heavy metals in them guess what the new ones have 3x the amount. that's why they have ya bring them in for recycling instead of toss in the trash, they are classifed as hazzardous waste, To get rid of them cost 12.00 per bulb at our local landfill. seen one brake what a mess.

  • Don't buy GE!

  • @hawkermustang you mean get rid of our Gov't!! GE did nothing wrong. This so called Gov't is killing us. One job at a time!!

  • Yes, incandescents are still available, and mostly GE, made in CHINA!!! Just had 40 watt CHINESE made bulb go out....total rip off. Chinese Garbage brought to you by GE!!! All of GE's bulbs are now made in China. Sylvania also makes incandescent bulbs. High quality (visibly stronger filaments) and are made in Mexico. USA made first, Mexican 2nd. Mexican stuff IS high quality (yes) Only one light bulb factory remains here. They sell in bulk and limited selection.

  • Most of u need to do some more research. i dont know about other countries but in the US, they are NOT phasing out incandesecents. they're only building more efficiency into them. there are incandescent bulbs that are already meeting the energy efficiency to stay on the market such as HALOGENs. incandescents that are under 40watts, over 100 watts, appliance versions, flood versions, colored versions, 3way, rough service and specialty lights (such as the incandescent candle) will NOT be banned

  • see this prove it americans sock at building thing !.

  • @MegaCostenito Your logic is flawed.

  • The Energy Independence & Security Act of 2007 bans the incandescent light bulb in favor of the mercury filled compact fluorescent bulbs. There are environmental concerns with the mercury filled compact fluorescent bulbs. Thomas Edison must be rolling in his grave. The unintended consequences of the light bulb ban are the mandated bulbs cost more, the lighting is insufficient & mercury is a hazardous chemical...

  • @gz1234z General Electric & other light bulb companies that make the compact fluorescent bulbs will not be complaining, though, because there is nothing better for the sale of your product than to mandate it by law.

  • No more GE for me! I won't buy chinese products either. I'll make things myself if I have to.

  • @marialquinonez49

Good luck on manufacturing or "hand-crafting" your own light bulbs, bub.

  • Looks like I am switching to Sylvania and Phillips. GE can go sell lightbulbs to Mexicans

  • @NETWizzJbirk Please understand that GE bulbs are all made in China. Mexico makes light bulbs and high quality ones, too! Of course USA made is preferred, but there are no more (save one small) companies making bulbs here at home. Sylvania is a good choice.

  • hahah ... Pick up you shit and get the fuck off the GE property!

You keep re-electing the politicians who are bending your asses over! Now you'll work for pennies!

  • Actually this is GE's idea to save their bottom line. You pay "Mexican" workers less than Americans. And these standards were put in place during the Bush admin. You can look this up if you disagree.

  • Progressive socialistic government is progressive socialistic government whether progressive neocons or marxist socialists are involved. They’re all serving the globalist agenda and acting treasonously contrary to the will of the People and the best interests of the United States of America.

  • @ghoinn1972 not true/.....

  • What a disgrace. My thoughts are with the displaced GE workers.

Everyone is talking about the economy and the lack of jobs. Barely anything is made in the US anymore and now we can add liught bulbs to the list. However most of us are to blame for that. We flock to 99 cent stores and Walmart for bargains and buy tons of cheap imported products that a short time later fall apart and end up in our landfills.

  • Thanks Obama!

  • @james1844 nothing to do with Obama this was a bush law...GE SUXS!!!!

  • I don't like Obama,, but i think it was Bush either signed it into Law or at Least got it started into Law to help with the $4.00 a Gallon Gas of the past,,

  • Uhhh you do know that this is a result of a bill signed in by GW Bush in 2007, right? And has nothing to do with Obama.

  • @VanceVanGogh

which law is that? I would like to look it over.

    Thanks

  • @commonsense010000 The bill that set efficiency standards that is phasing out incandescent bulbs is the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. Check it on wiki. Even beyond that how is it the governments fault that GE decides to make CFLs out of country where hand labor costs less? Why aren't they refitting this plant to make CFLs? Answer: to get an extra 20 cent profit per bulb.

  • @commonsense010000 ; thanks for the info!

  • Can you say north american free trade agreement. It just goes to show how are government is screwing us over & over. We can give Bill Clinton a big hug & say thank you for opening up N.A.F.T.A . But on the other hand what have are last two presidents done to close down N.A.F.T.A nothing & what is obama going to do about it & what will are elected officials going to about it not a dam thing. More jobs will be out sourced as time goes on & will not help are economy grow by out sourcing jobs.

  • did they take any bulbs to use in the house

  • That's what you call deindustrialization of America. Now you're getting the change that criminal Soetoro promised you all; pocket change.

You want to know the truth? Watch, Endgame - Blueprint for global enslavement. It's here on YouTube.

  • Like that change? Like Cap and Tax? Remember Obama told you all his plans to eliminate incandescent bulbs, right? You know that GE is a huge supporter of Obama's right?

Remember this "CHANGE" in November, 2010 and in 2012. Stop looking for a daddy and try acting like one. Make the wrongs right by getting off your asses and trying.... while you still have a chance.

  • @blownone1 Bush law .....nice try

  • Comment removed

  • Incandescent light bulb made in America: .22¢

CFL light bulb made in China: $5.99

Living in the Age of Obama...Priceless

  • @VeraSt101 5.99 is a lie when we sell them here for 2,00 whens the last time you went shopping??

  • @VeraSt101 What's priceless is the rash of right wing dumb asses I keep finding on youtube who want to blame this, Bush's law, on Obama. Anybody see a parallel between this and the economy?

  • Unfortunately - those we see in office have no real power. They are merely puppets for the upper echelon that sit atop the gov't pulling the strings to screw us all while supporting their own brand of terrorism against the rest of the world. These are the true enemies of humanity. They are agents of the NWO- the same agents who keep milking the LOLocaust / Holohoax to keep us in guilt of what happened and our "late actions" in preventing it. We need to reclaim our gov't for the ppl it's to serve

  • @TheTankinTortuga The NWO? lolocaust, really? you're really that dense?

  • I hate to say it, but the Republicans are "selling us out" too.You know as well as I do, 99% of all Politicians are on the same page. It's me, me, me!!!All the while keeping our "Dumb asses" divided.I hate all of the Cocksuckers! We need AVERAGE,EVERDAY PPL in office, w/ a short term limit and minuscule pay.
