Well it is based on the older model that Toyota produced back in the 80's like a dodge charger redefined a brought back from the olden days. And to really understand the cars concept you have to have that experience about the car. And Toyota's gas pedal problem was a simple mistake gm in the 90's had massive recalls on their cars up to the point where it made gm go bankrupt. Japanese regulation used to cap max hp as 280 for environment.

So ECU limits the fuel line when it accordingly

Same was true for Skyline GT-R since 80s and people tend to unseal the power in aftermarket tuning..quite simply.

Now the regulation's gone, but century stays the same now.. probably for a while until next generation i guess.
