You know, the washing scene seemed really weird to me when I first saw this movie. It was very awkward and I didn't really understand it. Now after like the 5th time of watching this movie I get it. It's supposed to be awkward and weird because Beethoven doesn't trust anyone before Anna. He's finally realized that he can't treat people like crap and expect them to like him, so he makes himself vulnerable by having her wash him. It's intimate and vulnerable and only someone he trusts can do it.
@plagueofangels666 the fuge was publish as a different opus than the quartet it originally was in as the finale. He was persuaded to write a new finale for op 131 by the publishers for a number of reasons. I don't consider myself much of a purist in many things but in the case of op. 131 my playlist has the fuge as the finale as it was originally written. I just pretend the replacement finale doesn't exist, the fuge is far far superior to it anyway.
@ilaban5 mostly Beethoven fell in love with his students, being young women and everything, kinda seemed to him that he was appealing to them due to his talent. Poor, poor Ludwig van.. Yeah, in fact he is in love with her.

@SoadaroW it isn't, it's the opus 131, the last part of the music piece, NOT 133.

@Moon0Royalty When he bathes himself, he ruins the Goulash.

@Moon0Royalty The great Ludwig Van Beethoven doesn't have time for such commodities as bathing!

Beethoven seemed to be very sorry, when he had let his big mouth and his sarkasm hurt someone, - if he chose to like that someone, man or woman :D
