  • Because of these filters and the EGR valves, I think I'll never buy another diesel again. Diesels used to be very reliable..now due to troublesome devices they are anything but.

  • It'll cost you a lot more than £400 in fines if you fail an emissions test and they find that you drilled a hole through your filter...

Do you know anything about emission testing..?

The MOT emission test for this vehicle model year is a visual test to make sure that any visual smoke is not excessive then a smoke meter test that measures soot paticles in parts per million (PPM) - this has passed both easily.

Peugeot also made this model & year with the same engine but without a DPF & this vehicle is now pretty much the same as one of those.

A roadside emission test is done along the same lines.

  • Sorry for delay in updating.

Fitted the DPF and cleared stored fault codes. Engine runs well but 'Emissions Fault' came up on display after a few days. Cleared fault code again & has stayed clear up to now (about 2months).

Hope this info helps :- )

  • @IanAndrews2 Any updates 9 months later :)

  • @jedigman

Not seen the vehicle lately so presume all is well but will ask my mate when I next catch up with him (it's his daughters car).

  • @IanAndrews2 Awesome, thanks.

  • "Will update once fitted & run for a few weeks."

    and the update?
