  • and nadia comaneci?

  • American's win the last two Olympic All-Arounds, and don't include either one, even as a number 10? Interesting. Still like the montage though.

  • I approve of Pavlova being on that list.

  • I'm not going to pick out any particular gymnast. All great performaces. That Thomas Salto at 0:22 scares the hell out of me everytime I see it.

  • I think older like in the past gymnasts are better

  • What happened to Shannon Miller, Svetlana Boginskaya, Tatiana Lysenko, and Svetlana Khorkina. Those gymnastics were the best.

  • @frankjunior25 Well, it IS an opinion montage; very WELL done, too.

  • @bdfan4ever I know it just an opinion montage... I was just throwing some names out there as my opinion montage..

yes this was a nice montage..

  • @frankjunior25 It is insane that Shannon Miller is not included in this list. This list seems to have a very eastern slant. Only athletes from China, the USSR and former eastern bloc countries are included.

  • And where are Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin??

  • @LigafanPotteriana It just says her favorite gymnast, not the best ;)

  • @camjay8 I'm sorry, when I watched this montage I didn't know these gymnast, but now I know them and I'm agree :) anyway also American gymnasts are great!

  • Munch: you’re always so appropriate and your videos are great! Here’s my list – only 1 and 2 are in order. And there are 11. 1. Gina Gogean 2. Oksana Omelianchik Elena Zamolodchikova Shannon Miller Ekaterina Lobaznyuk Simona Amanar Nadia Comaneci Raluca Haidu Alexandra Marinescu Roza Galieva Tatiana Gutsu
  • olga korbut?

  • Most of them have really really really bad form on everything they did in this video. The only one that I liked was Anna Pavlova. And did you notice that all of them were from countries who are either Communist/Socialist or were Communist/Socialist at some time??? Mean anything to you????

  • @musicisinmeforever To me it means those are the best gymnasts.

  • @beautifulsarah100

I know that...and you have crappy taste in gymnastics.

  • @musicisinmeforever Spoken like a true Shawn and Nasty fan.

  • @beautifulsarah100

I like Shawn. I don't really care for Nastia, but I don't hate her. Mary Lou Retton, Shayla Worley, and Chelsie Memmel are some of my favorites actually. Anna Pavlova is a favorite of mine too. Way to be judgemental...

  • Thank you for such a well-made montage - excellent choices! I'm intrigued at the quality of your Mostepanova clips! Did you find those on YouTube or did those come from you personal collection?

  • @Ashimrak They come from my sister's collection

  • could u do a montage of just your favorite gymnasts ever? like all time favorite (no matter if they are an all arounder or just a specialist)

  • Zhang Nan? i understand you don't care for American gymnastics, but Zhang Nan over Shannon Miller is just an insult...

  • How can people say this is questionable? This is her own opinion video, of her favorite all around gymnasts, not the best all around gymnasts in the world. And how can people say "so and so belongs on your list"? This is not your list, clearly so and so is not in her favorite all around gymnasts.

  • Nice selection, I too adore Podkopayeva and Silivas

  • Some of your entries are questionable...but Dina Kotchetkova is is a fine addition to any list of all around gymnasts.

  • my favorite gymnasts in that video were oksana olmelianchik and lilia podkopayeva :)

  • I know you say you don't like American gymnasts, but Shannon Miller has a very european quality to her and I think you should have put her in ahead of zhang nan for sure.

  • I like these picks... i was expecting khorkina to be in here somewhere, but i agree with your picks!

  • Thank you Munch for sharing your favorites with us!! :-) Doesn't it get old having to explain that you don't hate American's all the time. I'm American and not offended in the least. This is a list of YOUR favorites and no one has a right to criticize you for it. Thanks again for the wonderful montage and sharing your favorites on each apparatus.

  • Nice list!

Nice to see Mo Huilan on it. She was such a *beautiful* gymnast--my fav actually. A true all-around gymnast in every sense, but hardly given enough credit because she never delivered when it counted most.

My 2nd fav is also LilyPod, like you.

  • I absolutely adore anna pavlova. and may i know the reason u take her as one of ur favourite?

  • @youcleverguy I think she has everything, she's powerful, but has grace and beauty to her gymnastics too. I also think she's almost equally talented on all four apparatus

  • @MunchTheSilivasFan yeah. she has the best style i've ever seen. i consider style the most important element for a gymnast.

  • @MunchTheSilivasFan

    so are these your favorites?

  • I have my faves at tope two. I just love silivas. from the moment she first competed at the euros, she is just a darling.

  • You chose well!

  • Wow, I saw a couple of my fave gymnasts in there too : Milosovici, Kotchetkova, Mo and Podkopayeva. I guess we must be around the same age hahaha

  • I'm glad to see Dina get a nod here--she had about the fiercest eyes in competition of just about anybody I've ever seen and was about as consistant as it gets--Anna, bless her heart, you just never could be sure whether she was going to bring her "A" routine or just diddle away her chances.

  • 10 8 6 5 3 2 and 1 are my fave

  • can you do an all-around top 10 of the gymnast from 2000 to 2009?? pleasee

  • Ok, my favourite all arounders 2000 - 2009? I can do that

  • thanks

  • i know u dont really like american gymnasts (me too, im only a fan of a few) but do u think u could make a montage of ur favorite? doesnt have to be all arounders, just whomever

  • Silivas had a pretty powerful looking vault at 4:00-I remember at Euros in the AA it looked pretty strong. Her vaults at Worlds in 1987 were pretty solid looking as well.

  • Adoro esta música que já conhecia e elas são muito boas!

  • every time i watch Daniela Silivas, i am blown away by her beautiful lines and extreme difficulty. she is definitely in my top three allarounders list. i would also put mo huilan and lilia podkopayeva in there too. and i also never new that silivas performed a double-double on floor.

  • @nimh21 the double-double is named after her. she was the first to perform it.

  • @msalasan - @ the 88' Olympics yes, in fact it really should be named after the Soviet Pryakhina who reguarly through it back in 1986...they need to get rid of the 'clause' saying the gymnast needs to perform it at worlds or Olympics to get the skill named after them IMO

  • @garyj79 I agree. Whoever does is first in a competition and doesn't fall should have the skill named after. The rule now is even more stupid. Not only that you should do it in Worlds or Olympics, but you also need to complete a form and ask to be named after you. Can't they just see who does it and name it?

  • @msalasan - dont tell me, a photo attached to the form and all.....lol

  • Nastia smells like coochie juices...gross.

  • Why can't MunchTheSilivasFan just like who he or she likes?

  • Daniela was a great all-arounder not just because of her talent on all 4 apparatuses, but she was also very genuine and sincere. And Anna Pavlova was always either underscored or had the misfortune of making tiny errors when they counted most for her:/

  • Some of your choices are pretty bad. And putting Silivas first, as much as I LOVE her as a three-event gymnast - she was never a great vaulter - she was pretty mediocre, actually. Dobre was a better all-arounder in many ways, as much as I love Silivas. And Milosovici? Her bars was passable - and the world titles on bars and beam were won by default, not because she was actually the best that day.

  • Lavinia Milosovici is one of the few gymnasts (if not the only gymnast) that have won a gold medal (world or olympic) on all 4 events. Plus, she managed to win a medal in the AA in both in Barcelona and in Atlanta as well as silver and bronze (in the AA) at the worlds, in '94 and '95. I think it is fair enough to consider her an all-arounder.

  • Silivas's superior compulsories compensated for her optional vaults-no one should have been scored close to her in the first phase of Worlds or Olympic competition-but they were often by .10.

  • @TuesdayPillow Dobre's bars were not near Silivas's, and her vault wasn't that spectacular either. Silivas also had consistency and staying power, which Dobre did not have. Silivas also looked like she actually enjoyed the sport.

  • How can you forget and leave out Shannon Miller???

  • I loved this montage!

  • Perhaps with the new code that came out, which emphasizes more dance, you will be more pleased with American gymnasts. Regardless of your approval, they've been doing very well for themselves.

  • Nastia Liukin is number 1

  • Out of cuiriosity, and by no means meant disrespectfully, do you dislike American gymnasts because you devalue their talent level, or do you simply hold against them the fact that they are Americans?

  • Neither. I admit that they are talented, and would be very stupid to deny that. Nor do I dislike people because they are American. Many American gymnasts, and I know not all, go for the powerful big skills style of gymnastics, which I dislike. There are Americans I like, they just are not great AA. Currently I like Mattie Larson and Corrie Lothrop for example, and past Americans I like include Kim Zmeskal, Courtney McCool and Tracee Talavera.

  • @MunchTheSilivasFan I love your list...personally, any list that has Silivas at the top is great with me. But I do think it's weird to include gymnasts like Yang Yilin on this, and not gymnasts like Miller, Dobre, Khorkina, and Shushunova (sorry if that's blasphemy). Maybe even Gutsu? Hmm...perhaps there are just too many to like.

  • @QueenieQue Lol, not blasphemy it's fine. Meh, everyone has differences of opinion. I don't like Khorkina's beam very much, I don't really like Miller or Shushunova, and I do like Dobre just I've never really considered her one of my favourites

  • @MunchTheSilivasFan What about nastia liukin, shawn johnson???

They happened to go 1 and 2 at the olympics.

  • @Gymnast861 Sure they did but they are not her favorite all around gymnasts.

  • @gymnasticsloverxoxo Haha yah that was stupid of me....:0 sorry

  • That would be interesting if I cared

  • This is a really really good video! All of these gymnasts are great and deserve to be recognized more. Nowadays, when people hear "gymnastics" they think of Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin, but there were greater gymnasts before them, and even now.

  • Also, Mo Huilan fell on her dismount of beam in AA Final of 1995 World Champange, otherwise, Lilia Podkopayeva would have just taking Silver in 1995.

Anyway, Mo Huilan is such a shame that did not win any of AA Champange as she deserves so in her whole gym career.

  • If Cheng Fei could fix her bars, surething that she would be in the TOP ONE of AA in whatever case.

    Anyone not agree so?

  • i disagree

using cheng fei's hughest scores at the olympics, she had

    16 vault

    15.7 floor

    15.9 beam

which means she would have needed a 15.7 on bars to beat liukin in the AA... which means she would have to have a bar routine up to the level of jiang yuyuan / chellsie memmel, which would have been quite impossible for cheng fei

  • cheng fei had fear of doing bar all the time, she would never have an ub routine strong enough to be on top! But she is great not as an AllArounder but she is definitive one of the best gymnasts ever in the world!

  • im listing my top ten: 1. Lilia Podkopayeva 2. Ekaterina Lobaznyuk 3. Nastia Liukin 4. Anna Pavlova 5. Svetlana Khorkina 6. Roza Galieva 7. Dominique Moceanu 8. Yang Yilin 9. courtney Mcool 10. Bridget Sloan
  • i like ur list. and this videos list. i would have nastia 7th or 8th. All these gymnasts r gr8. as r the ones in this video

  • *2008

  • does your stupid fucking brain remember that this is my favourite all arounders list and not yours and as such i can put on it who i want.. And a montage has no sexuality you utter noob. And if you can't even work out what Olympics she won don't comment.

  • thks for this vid... and thks for let us know your list...

my list its diferent....well.. i have no list... just for AA Nadia Comaneci is #1

  • dude. its people ,like you who make me hate youtube, you just need to shut your mouth you ignorant basterd, cuz no one gives a shit about your opinnion

  • you seriously need to shut the fuck up and learn your shit about gymnastics before you go ranting on someone else. no one asked for your opinion!!

  • Looks whos "stupid fucking brain" says Nastia won 2012 Olympics. Right now it is 2009, Nastia won in 2008. 2012 hasn't even got here yet. Are you on drugs?

  • Great montage ;-)

  • sorry you got it sooo wrong did you forget nadia olga shannon miller sketlveltan these were just lame routines with half ass stuck landing please

  • You seem to be labouring under the misapprehension that this montage is your top ten all arounders. They're mine.

  • Since we're talking "favorite" and not "best," I will comment with that understanding. My list would include many of these. It would also definitely include Nadia - hard to imagine a list like this without her. Also Miller, Raducan, Gogean and Amanar. I would even include Marinescu, just because I like her. Dina's definitely on my list, and Mo, too. And add Khorkina for attitude if nothing else. (I think I'm gonna end up with more than 10.) GREAT MONTAGE!!!

  • Thank you :). I like many of those you said also, it's so hard to narrow things down to just ten

  • silivas was the master of 87 thru 90 gotta give it to the girl

  • I would put almost everybody from 80s. Silivas is the best for sure.

For me 85 World Championships was truly the most memorable one. It was like looking at whole 80s gymnastics transition scene from old stars like Yurchenko, Mostepanova and Szabo to new rising stars, Shushu, Omelianchik and Daniela....just in 4 days of cometitions.

And I totally agree with you in terms of American gymnasts. They are good, and even great with incredible skills but I'd rather watch compulsories by Silivas

  • I hate how everyone gives all of the attention to the gymnasts that score well. People should realize how good other gymnasts are, I mean for pete's sake. Nastia Liukin for instance, messes up almost every meet, but how often do you see someone like Jana beiger mess,up. ALMOST NEVER!

  • Perhaps Liukin has more noticeable mess-ups, but Jana Bieger has HORRIBLE form, so really, every single time she flexes her feet, has huge leg separations, and doesn't hit 180 degrees in her jumps, she easily racks up more mistakes than Liukin.

  • miller should of been there

  • Finally someone with taste! I may not agree with the whole of that top 10 but I am so glad you included Omelianchik and for me the greatest gymnast of all time Daniella Silivas. I also have to agree with you MunchThe SilivasFan about the American gymnasts, they are not very stylish or graceful but have to agree that Dobre should have been there also Olga Corbett, Nadia Comaneci and a couple of other alround who were the greatest of their time.

  • Thanks :) I do like Dobre, quite a lot. nd obviously I love Silivas :)

  • It's Olga K-o-r-b-u-t. Korbut.

  • i dont think olga korbut did AA did she???

  • Of course she did-at the Olympics she placed 7th in 1972 and 5th in 1976.

  • Is there a reason that you dislike American gymnasts? I mean I know their not all good but Nastia, Shawn, Carly, Mary Lou, and Shannon are all Olympic Champions. Four of them are all- around Olympic Champions. Maybe I'm taking this to personally though because I'm an American.

  • Only three have won AA titels; Nasta, Carly, and Mary Lou.

  • Well Mary-Lou i really very much dislike and (no offence intended) I don't think she deserved to be the AA champ. I don't like Johnson's style of gymnastics. It's too much centred on power alone. Nastia is more the sort of gymnast i would like, but i think because so many people think she's great I'm fed up with having her greatness shoved at me all the time. I'm not saying that aren't good gymnasts, I'm well aware they are, I personally just don't find them that great.

  • i have to agree with you there nastia has alot of flexibility like khorkina and podkopayeva maybie even boginskya all four of them are known for there great artistry but there may be more that i hav not of mentioned??

  • I love your list! I might have switched out Zhang for Dobre but this is lovely.

  • shawn johnson should be #1

  • Yang Yilin deserves that spot

  • Shawn johnson deserves to be on that list #1!

  • I personally enjoy the two gymnasts Ksenia Semenova and Nastia Liukin (I know you dislike her but she is a really good gymnast, as long as you drop the bars dismount =p)

  • Surprised Lavinia Milosivici and Zhang Nan make the list, plus I think a little room could've been made for Aurelia Dobre, but the rest were great! :D

  • I don't like most american gymnasts, either. But the tiny Shannon Miller of 1992 deserves a place on this list. And of course the even better and angle-looking Tatiana Gutsu!

IMO Dudnik is the most talented gymnast ever, though she had bad luck not able to compete a lot... But she's still my favorite!

  • I can relate to the American All Arounder thing. I am American and the only American I think I would include in a montage like this is Shannon. Everyone in this montage is a fave all arounder of mine with the exception of Olga. I haven't had a chance to study her work. Great montage!

  • i dont know but i dont like americans so much :) sorry :]

  • What's wrong with American Gymnasts? They are great, they are improving greatly since 1984. Give them some slack!

  • I didn't say they were bad, I said I didn't like most of them. It's not the same.

  • Although I personally would have had Dobre, Shushunova and Boginskaya on the list, I do commend the creator of the montage for such good work. :)

  • I think it didnt mention a lot of gymnasts who should of been on there: Comaneci, Miller, Shushonova, and even Julianne McNamara and Kathy Johnson.

  • love it! even if i disagree with a few i love the montage...especially the top 3!

  • what happen to nastia and shawn you forgot them

  • They are great compared to the gymnasts of now. However for an all time list? No. I wouldn't put them or Carly Patterson on the list. Shannon Miller and Dominique Moceanu though would deserve to be on it.

  • Thank you! I love this! Thank you so much!

  • It's great!

I agree, those girls are very great All Arounders:)

  • love it!

    but no americans??
