Wow, some "alternate costume" lame that the only thing changed here is the addition of a ph helmet. *wonders if ph helmets really would have rusty spikes inside or if that's a huge lie*
Since the various Silent Hill games were inspired by Western - primarily American - writers (whose names adorn all the streets of the town), and since it bears mostly American Weird Horror ideas of cult and parallel dimensions (Lovecraft, anyone?), and since it borrows its ideas of the unconscious from Freud and Jung (Germans), you might consider that the reason you like the earlier games better is not because the Japanese are so original or better, but because it was newer to you then.
This would have been a perfectly acceptable part of the SH series if they'd scrapped the loading screen tips and HUD as standard for first time run-throughs (unlike in previous games where health bars and things could be unlocked). TOTALLY RUINED THE ATMOSPHERE!
@frkenloodles How so? First of all, it's my opinion. Second, I'm very punctual and and when it comes to games or movies I want to look at every detail. And third, even a smallest mistake, error or a ridiculous thing can ruin the whole thing. And usually that's what they do. They make either a really great game or a movie, but when they decide to add something "cool" to it, the whole masterpiece goes to waste.
@LeNNaKo I dont know what your fav game is so ill use CoD for example say They put in an optional ending that you DONT have to do the game would suck?
@frkenloodles I didn't mean an optional ending by that "cool". And it depends of the ending. If it's just normal and little different then no problem. But if it's ridiculous as the Dog ending in Silent Hill 2, it ruins the mood of that game. It's the same thing when you think someone is very nice and kind. But would you consider him/her nice anymore after he/she has murdered somebody innocent?
@LeNNaKo I had to go watch the Silent hill 2 ending to see what you were talking about and yeah I agree its restarted but it doesnt ruin the entire game, the entire game just that single ending Ive only played 1 silent hill game and thats Sh1 and that was years ago everygame i can think of has somthing stupid in it thats meant to be a joke just like that dog ending

Besides "hey bro whats ur str lvl" is written right, the words are just short versions from the originals which people use quite a lot in games because they are too lazy to write. Also good grammar is needed if you want your future to be bright. But it's America in this case so yeah, maybe don't need it.

@pgranada76 You don't need to get the Young Alex costume for anything, except for if you want to fill in all of the question marks for the Costume Select.

@TheReverantChoir why did Japan stop making the game? I'm pretty sure Japan worked on silent hill 3 and let me tell you in my opinion that was the best silent hill ive ever played, even the menu music in number 3 creeped me out. Seriously i believe that Japan should make the silent hill games they were way better.
This game was good, but the Wii version was so much better. And that's a super rare thing to happen (That a Wii version of something is better than the PS3/360).

I would have to imagine that the PH weighs quite a bit. plus i personally think myself that having the full costume would be sweet. (the one that hes in when they put it on him in the ending)
ive said this once and ill say it again - better graphics makes the game less scary, the old silent hill with...acceptable graphics were way creepier with those jagged looking monsters and there ability to twitch real fast while moving! who else agrees?
@4trooper4 agreed and the dark was actually dark u couldn't see shit.. in the much newer games sometimes you dont need a light you can see the outlines of things and where the walls are which downed the scary level
@4trooper4 Yea better graphics does make it less scary. Fear is most effective when you cant really make out the situation so it puts you in a state of panic. On the older consoles the graphics were perfect for horror games because they were good but also they can make things not look so clear like ps3 does and it keeps you wondering how the creature really looks.
I liked Silent Hill homecoming, probably more than an 'old school' silent hill fan should have. Even though im pretty young to be considered old school.
Anyway, i wish they would have given us the full Pyramid head/Bogey man outfit, and not just the helmet.

@andrey2793dec im going to agree to disagree with you. this game was shit in the fact it isnt a true silent hill game. this was a different developer and they used so much from the movie and as great as the movie was it was not a good representation of silenthill :P if you know anything about the original 3 then you would realize why true SH fans hate it.

@SadShade thank you :D so many people try to say how awesome this game is when it wasnt good at all. downgraded graphics from what they shoulda been, story was horrible compared to the first 3, and the combat was worse than 4 :P and i repeat this game wasnt the least bit scary
@fanaticmonk dude are you retarded? im a silent hill fan i have beaten each one and gotten every ending and all the unlockables (except for origins for i have to own a working ps2 and find a working copy of the game). this games story made absolutely no sense. because certain decisions you made in the game pretty much ripped plot holes like a hookers underwear and what about this game was scary?

@Dantethedemon16 i completely agree they should change some stuff but the combat in 4 was more like the way sh should be eventhough it was garbage. it seems like SH anymore is trying to compete with RE. which is impossible. because SH is true survival horror and to me after RE4 that series is now an action game.and the way SH5 looked in the earlier pics was better than the final draft. i just wish they wouldnt have raped the movie for ideas :P
@Twistedimagination12 Silent Hill5 is awesome. I love it. I have completed it and it is now one of my favorite SH games. The Silent Hill Atmosphere is in it but you have to play the game to recognize that!!

I would of thought if you wear the Pyramid head Helmet all the monsters would try to Avoid you I mean if I was a silent hill monster and I seen some wearing that Helmet I would be like "Oh god he is a part of them now, RUN AWAY!!!!!!"

ive said this once and ill say it again - better graphics makes the game less scary, the old silent hill with...acceptable graphics were way creepier with those jagged looking monsters and there ability to twitch real fast while moving! who else agrees?

@4trooper4 agreed and the dark was actually dark u couldn't see shit.. in the much newer games sometimes you dont need a light you can see the outlines of things and where the walls are which downed the scary level

@4trooper4 Yea better graphics does make it less scary. Fear is most effective when you cant really make out the situation so it puts you in a state of panic. On the older consoles the graphics were perfect for horror games because they were good but also they can make things not look so clear like ps3 does and it keeps you wondering how the creature really looks.

I liked Silent Hill homecoming, probably more than an 'old school' silent hill fan should have. Even though im pretty young to be considered old school.
Anyway, i wish they would have given us the full Pyramid head/Bogey man outfit, and not just the helmet.

@andrey2793dec im going to agree to disagree with you. this game was shit in the fact it isnt a true silent hill game. this was a different developer and they used so much from the movie and as great as the movie was it was not a good representation of silenthill :P if you know anything about the original 3 then you would realize why true SH fans hate it.

@fanaticmonk dude are you retarded? im a silent hill fan i have beaten each one and gotten every ending and all the unlockables (except for origins for i have to own a working ps2 and find a working copy of the game). this games story made absolutely no sense. because certain decisions you made in the game pretty much ripped plot holes like a hookers underwear and what about this game was scary?

@Dantethedemon16 i completely agree they should change some stuff but the combat in 4 was more like the way sh should be eventhough it was garbage. it seems like SH anymore is trying to compete with RE. which is impossible. because SH is true survival horror and to me after RE4 that series is now an action game.and the way SH5 looked in the earlier pics was better than the final draft. i just wish they wouldnt have raped the movie for ideas :P
