@Jruch123 no, I think thats a myth. I think the best thing to determine how a gecko will look as an adult is to see how it's parents look.

I just got my gecko yesterday. His/her eyes were closed almost all day. They finally opened up today. Pure red eyes. I'm thinking I have a raptor. I tried to put a flourescent light on to get a good picture for identification. The eyes immediately closed and she/he wouldn't open them until the light went off. The eyes aren't as dark as the picture but it seems solid red. Have raptors been known to close their eyes a lot?

Raptors are much more sensitive to light because they lack melanin which would naturally block out a lot of light in their iris. The only way to get decent photos of raptors is to dim the room completely and use flash.

just to let you know there are two types of albinism. Tyrosinase-positive and Tyrosinase-negative. Tyrosinase-positive or T+ albinos are not able to synthesize melanin, but capable of synthesizing tyrosinase, which results in lavender-brown skin color. all three strains of albinism in leopard geckos are T+ albinos. through selective breeding have they become the white, light and pink beauties we know them as today :)

Both geckos need to have the albino gene to pass it on to the offspring.

i love albino enigmas! there so beautiful! but i love em all, its really hard to say which is ur favorite because leos are so addictive! the only albino i have is a bell albino, i'm trying to grow my collection, so i have to gravid females right now, my SHT(super hypo tangerine) and my bell albino.
