why is aus judo gay? we have some very talented players and considering the low profile the sport has in the country we do incredibly well internationally. better than mexico per capita thats for sure!
there was 26 people entered in my division at nationals and they all wanted to win the title as much as a mexican wants to steal a wallet (parden the stereotype)
Good stuff Ivo, I'm a Juodka from NZ (U90kg) and it really low profile sport here too but we what we can with what we have to work and I think there are some guys in both NZ and AUS making some real inroads into the international scene and it will be great to see what we can accomplish over the next few years. Oceania all the way!! Ignorant know nothings like this Mexican piss me off. Lets see him fight a high profile comp in AUS and get his ass kicked

firstly no one outside the kodokan can do genuine kodokan judo. even genuine kodokan judo wont work 66kg vs 140kg unless the 140kg player is completely hopeless.
to mimic kodokan judo when a player doesn't have kodokan-standard coaching is pointless so i make use of what i've got, not everyone is japanese and not every japanese is great. judo is universal and different styles arent necessarily better or worse, they are DIFFERENT!
Agreed, there is not a judoka anywhere in any 'system' (Kodokan or IJF) who could go toe to toe with another judoka more than double his weight and expect to win. I bet Ivo could smash a 140kg dude off the street though - no problem.

I hate the " good judo" brigade. they go on about so called good judo when players are winning comps at national and international levels using so called " bad judo" the good judo brigade are the reason for the recent and stupid rule changes which make judo a less efective fighting style.

this guy has plenty speed. A lot of strength. But its not genuine kodokan judo.
I guarantee his technique would not work with a 140kg guy.
