  • nah.. all this particlefx bullshit is just mere eyecandy iop.. Mafia2 is beautiful even with physx turned off..

  • So.. it basically adds more debris...

  • Does physx make mafia 2 more cinematic?

  • @DantheMan101395 not more cinematic but it definitely adds a lot to the game

  • off is better

  • ALL Radeon users saying it's shit....hahaha. Buy a great nVidia card, and throw your shitty toy for kids, Radeon card to trasch,,,

  • physx ... just another UNrealistic mess... it even doesn't look good at all... i prefer the OFF version

  • @g0rb4k dumbass

  • so u make a bigger mess with phisx, thats all. and nothing else. Ohh, and the smoke...

  • Music from Call of Duty 2? :D

  • what a poor building! low cost construction!

  • Lol it went way overboard...It makes it look unrealistic.

  • Gz nVidia, you just went fully overboard with the particle effects.

  • i prefer it to be off. it looks much better.

  • PC is dead...

  • @89Ocelot89 You are dead consolefag!

  • @89Ocelot89 Consoles are to shut the kids up, for a year. PC's are for grown ups.

  • PhysX is good shit, but a tiny bit fps thirsty. Like this. (Y)

  • That is why im buying myself GTX480 :) Nvidia forever !!

  • Enabing physx in this game kills performance. had to turn off that crap.

  • @GatewayDXSeries what graphic card u have ?

  • @webko0009 specs on my main page to the left. tried it on both rigs, same results, even tho my six core with my gts 250 seems to handle it better, still kinda demanding. I am sure once i get a 450 or something, it will smooth it out a bit.

  • so this what physX exactly does

throw a couple a rocks here and there ?!

  • @TheRenegade217 Yup, all which can be done by the CPU. Its just a marketing gimmick to sell more cards.

  • at least their developing physx to support mulitthreading now, that should boost my fps :)

  • can someone please tell me if a gtx 460 or gtx 480 can do this exact thing ?!

  • @pashaahsj yes if its nvidia it can do it

  • @Djghost1123 cool ty :)

  • does ATI has it too?

  • @maischoyu no

  • Particles, objects, monsters that just vanishes after destroying/killing has been bothering for a long time. I really hope this will change that.

  • his coat looks so retarded without physX

  • It pisses me off that they couldn't do this on the console. >:|

  • @wahs3

they can but the console can't handle it

  • Genesis Does....what Nintendon't

  • @PatrickRourk Rofl, I was thinking the same thing. BLAST PROCESSING!!!

  • Maybe the video just could be called NVIDIA PHYSX ON ... ATI PHYSX OFF :D

  • conclusion. con physX queda mas mierda en el suelo, jajajajajajajjaja

  • They added particles are not worth the huge performance hit.

  • Let's wait for amd to implement their opencl based gpu physics.

  • @kkmenon Wait forever for a miracle AMD lover. Nvidia is the number one in PhysX and 3D Gaming. Sucks to be you

  • I have nvidia gear, and honestly those particles are just over the top completely i'd want to turn it to 25% or something.

  • @kubuxx1551 ATi is dead? What?

  • now i understand gpu!!

  • all this can be done via havok lol

  • @kkmenon but it really hasnt lol.

  • @kkmenon It can't be done with Havok.. An object explodes (With dated and unrealistic effects compared to Physx) and vanish because the CPU won't be able to render Physx fast enough.. ATi = 12 fps with Physx or no Physx.. Nvidia = superior with Physx..

  • gay

  • @amnesiai Another sucker that has a ATI Fail card and will never accept that it would love that ATI had EVEN physX... you really are a homossexual pal!

  • @TheZombieflesheater You sound like a very unreasonable person. As a proud owner of graphics cards from BOTH companies, I can say that they take turns to leapfrog each other in terms of performance, and by being a fanboy you're only missing out (Especially since Nvidia is a lot weaker at the moment). PhysX is only software that Nvidia own. They're actually hurting the gaming industry by not allowing Intel or ATI to support it, even though they're more than capable power-wise.

  • @3kliksphilip Man I will tell you one thing. A ferrari without a good couple of tires is shit. Same thing with a Radeon card. Software IS important. Im also a linux user and those canadian guys dont release good drivers. Also if you open the GPU-Z the truth is that Direct compute is the only thing that ATI perdon AMD Graphics has to work. PhysX + Cuda + BluRay 3D + 3D vision etc...is only suported by Nvidia. And Sli is 90% advantage, crossfire is 40% go read the facts pal!

  • @TheZombieflesheater Funny, I've never had problems with the drivers from either company. SLI is 90% advantage, crossfire is 40%? Where did you get these 'facts' from? How come the 5970 is so much faster than the 5870, despite being two underclocked cards stuck together?

I don't think you know what you're talking about. Physx, 3D vision and Cuda are just Nvidia's 'brands' for things they do. AMD's equivalents tend to be open-source and less trumpeted. Which I actually prefer.

  • @TheZombieflesheater if he just want the popcorn looking thingys he can just get an Xfire motherboard and buy an Nvidia card to handle the corn popping and a ATI to work the gfx.

  • Mh, sieht schon cool aus, aber die mega große Weltneuheit ist das nicht mit den herumfliegenden kleinen Teilchen.

  • Im the only one that think that here are too much innecesary particles? I was wondering if the gun was shooting bullets or rocks O.o

  • @kitsune0video I totally agree. Looks a bit retarded if you ask me.

  • okay, I feel like a bit of a retard saying this, but would the game not run just as well with and ATI card and does it not use physics and not Physx software?

I'm just wondering as I'm considering buying an ATI card because they are cheaper and I don't want to suddenly find I'm playing games with nvidia specific graphics...

  • @aedryanchklar It would work but with there would be the PhysX feature and it may have a slight FPS decrease because I think Mafia 2 Is a Nvidia Optimised game

  • @dude4Glitches so you'd bet all the physics features no problem without nvidia physx, just it'd require more 'power'

I'm thinking of getting the ATI Radeon 5770 1GB, so it's a pretty good card - so I'm more worried about the software it supports than the software it'll run smoothly with

  • I can run(in Demo :P) PhysX on high with medium graphic&1280x768+AA16x on GTS 250 675MHz xD [I should have 738MHz model but in shop gove me 675 :(] ]

  • @kmi187

Well, everything we know "quite sure" for now is vantage score only. Unigine one is faked, it's as clear as a day. Even HD5870 still beats GTX480 in vantage but it is just a joke when it comes to serious DX11 competition.

    @paronfisk

Those craps are called realistic effects.

  • Instead of programming most of these extra graphical featuers in to the graphics engine they were paid to leave as much as possible for PhysX.

  • halved fps and 10 times more rocks! awesome i love nvidia

  • Phys for the win.

  • so you get more rock with physX.. FUUUKIN AWEESSOMMMEE MANN

  • @mrRocstar96 actually, u get more piece, more smoke, cloth, and more realistic, just play the game and see it for urself, this video just shows some examples.

  • @kubuxx1551 Dream on, there are already benchmarks leaked with the new AMD HD 6xxx, it wipes the floor with the current badge of Nvidia cards, and it's not even tweaked by drivers yet.

  • @kmi187 the unigine benchmark was proved to be fake, other benchmarks that were leaked along with might be fake, too. There's no reason for them to make a fake unigine benchmark if the other benchmarks were real. HD6000 will be faster than the current card, because that's how next gpus are supposed to be but u can only be sure how much faster they are once they are released. And no matter how fast they will be, they can never run PhysX.

  • So there is more crap flying around with physX? ;)

  • @kubuxx1551

ATI brand is dead not the GPU's lol..

  • Daaaaymn

  • Yeah, don't forget every physx detail takes about 0.1 FPS :D

  • NVIDIA, the way it's meant to be played ! I like NVIDIA !

  • They don't dare show the disgusting framerate difference between physx and no physx.

  • @slizza90 eh i dont think you need to...i get 60+ with everything turned up, i just get raped with the AA when i have physx on lol

  • @richardkensington

I gotta call bullshit on that.

Even with SLI gtx 480 cards and a dedicated physx cards you don't get much over 30fps average in the benchmark.

The benchmark is flawed but still you loose a disgusting amount of frames due to physx.

    That's a fact.

  • @slizza90 LOL?

SLI GTX480 and nly 30 fps??

i have 30fps with bei GTS250 and physx on medium oO

  • @THExROBONATOR

I said not too much over 30fps.

And yeh, i get 30fps average maxed out 120 x180 in thwe benchmark.

    With a overclocked i7 920 @3.8ghz and 2x GTX 280 in sli.

Other people with GTX480 setups and dedicated physx cards get about the same.

Visit any tech website forum and you will see what i am talking about in MAFIA II threads.

  • @slizza90 lol nvidia epic fails or what? xD

  • @THExROBONATOR

    Wouldn't say that.

Just physx needs alot of work.

  • @slizza90 but nvidia need really better graphic cards

  • looks good with all the shit flying around

there is too much emphasis on physx... some of the stuff doesn't look real.

  • gpu Physx

    the best ......

  • Is nVidia just TOO awesome?!

  • @Mzilla2 The original technology wasn't created by nVidia.

  • @Mzilla2 yes but it isn't cheap.

  • although physx looks good, it's as though they deliberately added too much particles to showcase the physx capabilities.

  • Yeyeyeye :D So cool ! I mad a gameplay of this on my GTX 480 and I must say it plays pretty smoothly on that card :D PhysX FTW :D

  • y did they even bother making 465s when they made the 460s lol

  • @mikey9890 probably to make people who have a 465 feel better, or since there's still a lower 460 version (768 mb) than the 465's 1GB version.

  • @mda40000 but both 460s are better, the 768mb and the 1gb. y would they even bother making the 465. makes me think everyone who has a 465 is mad now

  • @mikey9890 even the 460 1 gb version is about 2-5% less in performance than a 465. the 460 768mb however, has less ROPS and a smaller memory bus width due to the lower memory amount that get cut off from 1 gb.

  • @mda40000 No it's not. The GTX460 is clearly superior to the GTX465, and then it can also be overclocked ridiculously unlike the 465.

  • @jamie3315 its not CLEARLY superior... the 465 can still be overclocked well (the less shader cores, the more overclock you can get) since the 460 is only 16 cores less than a 465, both can roughly get the same clocks. but with the 465's GF100 gpu compared to the 460's GF104 gpu, the power consumption and heat isnt that reasonable. still ike i said. unless you get the 1 gb version (budget buyers may get the 768mb version), your losing bus width from 256-bit ot 192-bit and like 8 ROPS.

  • @mda40000 I don't care what the specifications are on paper. I've read countless reviews benchmarking the GTX460 in games and, I can't speak for the 768Mb version, but that 1Gb version beats the 465 every time.

They GTX460 is a new card: it didn't precede the GTX465, but proceeded it. The number 465 alone doesn't mean it is superior to 460.

  • @jamie3315 they wouldnt make a GPU thats ment to be lower in performance but still beat it out anyways. DUH lol

  • ATI fanboy! FUCK YOU!!

  • The debris don't actually look that good. I mean, the technology behind what they are showing is great but the rubble just sticks out too much. The debris chunks do not settle on a side that it'd naturally remain motionless on. Instead it looks like some of the chunks will remain stationary while balanced on the tip of a jagged edge instead of falling to one side or the other. It doesn't look natural. Shouldn't there be debris and such on the floor to begin with too?

  • yeah but Im used to no PhysX so I think the turned off is better...

I mean PhysX looks to real to be a video game.

  • vito dies

  • I have a GTX280 and E6600 C2D. Game runs great, but the PhysX performance hit seems unusual, as I've never seen a game be so drastically effected by it as Mafia II.

Awesome feature, but pointless if next to no one can use it.

  • @rushnerd it runs great on my system lol

  • lol it's all scripted and not true physics, Nvidia scam!!!

  • @evilcrow1001 ... They're particle physics, and physx is a hardware accelerator for these kinds of things, so where's the scam?

  • more of an environment enhancer than a physics engine. dont get me wrong theres a bunch of physics going on here but it serves as a more aesthetic purpose than a mechanical one.

  • It could be run greater on cpu if it were codded for that. Shitty nvidia :P.

  • @HardRockLegendx No it couldn't, the cpu doesn't have near the enough computing power to pull it off.

  • runs way faster than mine

    (2x GTX 285's)

  • This game kinda sucks for several reasons

    1. This game is fucking SHORT!!! Lazy assholes , 50 bucks for 10 hours gameplay???

    2. When you're done main campaign you cant play it freelance

    3. Unoptimized engine , horrible FPS even on my Core i7 and GTX 480

  • @medtik

50 bucks for 10 hours is not too bad, unless you compare it with GTA. :)

  • @wujj123456 GTA is the first title that comes to my mind so yeah if u compare it sucks big time

  • Physx is not worth the performance loss in the game

  • @deadmanavir no loss with SLi

  • very good!

  • how do you turn physx off? i turn apex physx off. that just does the clothes

  • fuck physx

  • @Word4329 just cuz u cant run it?

  • @Zillerz3

No because it really does suck. There are others out there that run as good or better than it and it doesn't require a nV gpu to run it natively. And, actually, I can run it.

  • Would be nice if the video was HD. or does Nvidia not support HD yet?

  • @IamApple fail TROLL

  • i love the clean look better

  • @2much2teach you aint gonna be able to get the "Clean Look" in real life now would you :)))

  • So does this mean they fixed the PhysX problem for Mafia 2?

  • Say Nvidia ,How about some 1080p Video here?...

  • am gona purchase ati 5750 cause nvidia is too i mean tooooo expensive in my country

  • @Mscorpion001 But no matter what country you're in a 5750 is going to suck.

  • @falubii

its not the best, but try to find a card with the same performance and the same price on nvidia side ^^ i like both, but nvidia is too expensive.. and physX doesnt worth that high price...and he should buy a hd 5770, its better and only a lil hihger price ^^

  • @falubii you are confusing me man give me some solid reason why would it suck. 5750 is available for 128 us$ and i saw some videos showing the performance of 5750 and i think its great . alternatively i can get a GTS 250 for 130 US$.what u think?

  • @Mscorpion001 go for the gts 250, it can handle this game very easy and it does the physix better. ;-)

  • @Mscorpion001

I suggest you buy neither, they're both shit tier.

Save your money and buy a real GPU.

  • @SilentSandwich get some voodoo fx gfx if u remember those ;) fkn nvidia....

  • @Mscorpion001 Here's a reason: It's slow. I would recommend picking up the GTS 250 TBH. It is hardly fast enough to play DX11, and the GTS 250 would be faster in every other game.

  • @Mscorpion001 -Get the gtx 460 1gb ,Awesome Card , Runs Very Cool ,Overclocks like Mad , Nearly 2x's the card that ati 5750 is , and they cost around 200$!..

  • @Mscorpion001 5750 is 1-2% faster than gts250,but in dirt2 and mw2 is more faster And It does not require a better power supply, because consumes less energy, dx11 and 40mn very cool to OC.

  • Nice video composing. I'll use some of this ideas :)

  • Nice
