The mexican fenders were crap at the beginning but they are finally making decent necks that dont buzz or frets that are so unfinnished and sharp they cut you hands like they used to . THey are just about as good as the American ones these days.
@maliester Yeah, I shouldnt have worded it like that. I really dont even remember what I was thinking that day. But yeah, to have folks wanting to groove along s a good thing.
Of course I believe that the American made models are the best you can possibly get, but if you can't afford one, the made in Mexico ones are the next best thing, and for half the price.
mexican fenders are the same or even better than american fenders. the only difference is pickups which can be swapped out of a mexican. and of course the price. mexican fenders are cheaper because the company saves money by having them made in mexico.
You are wrong. I would love to see a Mexican Fender that is better than an American. The Trem blocks are made from zync and a tampered, plus the zaddles are cheap zync. The nuts are sometimes made of plastic causing tunning problems. The frets sometimes are off and require some work. Then the pickups are weaker. All this can be fixed and I have fixed that one some Mexican Strats and Teles. If you think they're the same then your ears are messed up and your eyes and hands have problems.
I don't hate Mexican Fenders but to say they're same or better than the American Fenders is reiculous. I have Squiers, and while I love the great price I can't say they're as good as an American Fender. Do they feel, play and sound great? Yes, but there is a reason why the pricing is different and it's not just because the labor is from another country. -Rock on
I've heard Fender MIM stuff is USUALLY better quality than MIJ stuff, but I believe Japan has a far larger selection. There some really cool fenders made in Japan that aren't even sold in the states and Japanese build quality is improving.
