well tasosk your country has certainly made up for giving them zero points here as we can see it seems in pretty much every contest Greece gives Cyprus max points - odd right?
Cyprus and Italy were, IMO, the two most underrated countries in the 1983 contest. Maybe this isn't as great as "Monika", but it sure is as good as "Mono I agapi", if not better.
I agree, this does have the potential of a beautiful melody but the arrangement is way too loud for it. I'm really mystified as to why this video has got over a thousand views in four days; perhaps it's got some kind of cult value. When I first saw this, my jaw dropped as I saw Evridiki; she looks so innocent and modest in this clip, almost in direct contrast to what she'll be doing later, both in this contest or not (see the Cypriot entry for '92 for a full, saucy demonstration).
Yes, indeed, I was very surprised too - I would never know it's her if I hadn't read so! As for the song itself, the studio version is truly lovely, the kind of folk-melody-with-a-hopeful-message that was very popular in Greece at that time (I remember this kind of music was all over the radio during my childhood). Even with this performance, it might get in my top-10 when we get around to voting for '83 (which could be quite soon, actually... ;-))
This is a beautiful song!

Yes, but one of the backing vocalists is Evridiki (at a very young age, so you may be hard-pressed to recognize her).

I think that in general this song got what it deserved. Maybe 1 or 2 places higher could be possible.
The pianist in '81 entry was Doros Georgiadis, the composer of that entry.

Oh, yes. you're right, sorry about that - I should have checked before I wrote that. I'll be sure to correct it ASAP.

the one thousand views is probably ONE PERSON blind drunk watching & listening this garbage over over over again - probably Evridiki herself
