  • @ritz2467 Gracias! I had no idea.

  • THIS CUT WAS SO HOT IN GERMANY UNSUNG.

  • How very Top 40 / TDK C90 !

  • Thanks!

  • Great 80s tune - still sounding polished in 2011!

  • I heard this song played inside Joe's Crab Shack in San Francisco recently. First time I've head it in years! Still sounds good.

  • definitely a cool Jellybean job to an outasite song with June out front for once!

  • excellnt copy!

  • one of their best hits ever.

  • Analog synths FTW

  • @Mugicha808 That's all they had back in the 1980s. Digital ones didn't come out til a few years after this, I believe. :)

  • 3 people r jack offs

  • 1983 the year of the farlight synth keyboard everybody used it ..........

  • Perfect to listen to in the malibu club...

  • First time I heard this in the 80`s I wasn`t sure who it was but I too thought it was a male singing it. I knew it was the pointer sisters but I thought at the time that maybe they let a male join them and they thought his voice fit the song better.

When I found out it was a female I was surpised. But there`s other 80`s songs where a female sounds like male,, Such as the great synth pop group "Yaz" with their tune "Situation" we thought for years a male sang it.

  • This song is so hot. Ruth Pointer sung this song in a lower registry. It just shows her range. Legendary RIP JUNE POINTER.

  • Right with ya, Passion4Gotten,, thats me exactly, only I was no kid in the eighties, and of all the females I could have possibly been convinced was the vocals, Pointer Sisters would have about last on list,, so un-Pointer Sisters-like (I wouldve bought Weezie from The Jeffersons sit-com back in the 70s). But, no matter, I still like it to this day.

  • I never heard the extended before!

  • it was just on VH1!

    GOD BLESS THE 80'S XD

  • Nice vid man!

  • Call me crazy, but this song always sounded like something Culture Club or Duran Duran would have sang in the 80s

  • WOW !!! THE MEMORIES THIS SONG BRINGS !!!!

  • THANK YOU!!!! ,,, tune's been in my head for years on end! I vividly remember roller skating to this here jam as a child! Cheers and many blessings to you for this upload!

  • 3 People R Tone Deaf, iJs!!!

  • This is a timeless anthem! Pointer Sisters tore the roof off here!

  • that guitar sound like Nile Rodgers from chic.

  • hell. back then guys sang like girls. that voice is deep as hell. if you like the song you play it. why worry about who sings it ? its not like you are gonna live with that person.

  • rip june pointer

  • this rocks

  • I want to have this disk!

  • 80s baby!never gets old...dig

  • This is so 80s... I love it.

  • I knew it was a woman because it was the Pointer SISTERS! lol

  • Cachey

  • THE ONE WHO SANG LEAD ON THIS WAS RUTH POINTER!!!! LOL SHE IS THE OLDEST POINTER SISTER, AND HAS THE MOST UNIQUE VOICE FROM THE GROUP, in my opinion anyways hehe

  • @dutico the best............so true

  • Fantastically Beautifully Gifted Dynamic Sisters of Soul! There music is a Blessing to all those that here it! I wish we never had to get old.

  • The Pointer Sisters were such a great sisterly group.

Our sisters were so gifted, dynamic, sexy and full of great classics that make you dance and dance.

The Pointer Sisters were a class act and that's a fact.

    RIP, Sister June Pointer

  • Great sound. Great tune!

  • ...YEAH YEAH YEAH...VICE CITY...SO WHAT...

  • timeless!!!

  • Pointer Sisters tearin' it up on exquisitely-preserved LP--thanks so much for posting this classic!

  • So far, three retards mistook the "don't like" button for their ravaged bungholes.

  • Awesome song! Omg, I feel so bad. I thought it was a guy singing this song with two women backing up. I didn't think The Pointer Sisters sang this song. Wow...awesome! I heard this song back in the day. And I got to hear again, but I couldn't figure out who sang it. Again thinking it was a guy. *feels bad* Well my long search is over. The Pointer Sisters are great! I remember them by "I'm Excited", and "Jump(For My Love)". Thanks for posting this. I been searching forever!

  • @flowerstar087 Sort of like the opposite of the Scissor Sisters - I thought Jake Shears was a woman the first time I heard them.

  • Wow you crazy bitch thats the sh-t keep hitten it

  • Bangin' old-school track. Why, oh why, is this not on the radio again? For the record, Ruth (on lead vox here) is the best Pointer Sister.

  • @LastBastion9999 Sirius-XM 80's channel plays it from time to time....

  • what a stylish song

  • Damnit, this reminds me of when I was 7 and this was playing in the car en route to school. Amazingly, now when I mention The Pointer Sister's...people foolish think of 'Jump' and that's it! THese were some sangin' sisters!

  • This is great !

    I'm gonna play Rebbie Jackson's ' Centipede ' next ! lol

  • Love the pointer sisters! RIP June!

  • Alot of people thought this was a male singer. This is one of the best Female baritone tracks ever (even though there is technically no such thing as female baritone)

  • @fireballmodels ty, very much, so true!

  • @fireballmodels I thought it was a guy aswell but its simple....theres no Adams apple..

  • A classic like this, I'd happily part with $50 just for the single. I wouldnt give 2 cents for the stuff coming out today but again would pay $50 for a good set of ear muffs...

  • DIDN'T REALIZE I MISSED THIS 'GROOVE'

  • thought this was a guy and his band not these girls.2 Guitar cracking riffs in this i think it sounds like it.but mean beats and rhythmns go dance

  • @shanzei23 I think its three gals that sing this. Not a dude and two dames, granted the one woman has an awful masculine voice.

  • long versions rule.and thinking this rare song was a dude and his band is amazing 2 that the girls hav great voices.in 1984 number 2 in the UK and number 5 in the US should of been number 1

  • This always cheers me up

  • I know this is gonna sound really bad, but when i was a kid, I thought this song was put out by a dude. I never knew it was the Pointer Sisters. I love this song and I am sorry if I offended someone by saying that it sounded like a male singing it but it's still a hot song. Love it. they dont make em like this anymore.:):-p

  • @Passion4Gotten no, you are spot on 4 a kid! I thought dude too! Lol

  • @Passion4Gotten - yeah, I thought it was a white dude, lol.

  • @Knyte77 me 2

  • @Passion4Gotten

I don't see it's offensive to be honest. Plenty of women have baritone voices :-)

  • @Passion4Gotten. No offense. she had a slighty husky voice. Great song though, isn't it?

  • @Passion4Gotten ...I DID TOO...

  • @Passion4Gotten me too so dont worry

  • @Passion4Gotten don't feel bad because I thought a man sung this song , too! I'm surprised to find out that it was the Pointer Sisters! Wow!

  • @Passion4Gotten Nah don't feel bad at all...EVERYBODY thought The Pointer Sisters had a guest artist singing with them on the record! LOL

  • @Passion4Gotten what are you apologizing for? a lot of us thought the same thing. heck, i was arguing with my sister just the other night as she insisted that the pointer sisters did not sing this song but indeed some unknown man. you're right...it's a hot song.

  • @Passion4Gotten OMG! I thought I was the only one who thought this was a dude. I remembered this song but I did not know who sang it until about 2 weeks ago. I kid you not. I was listening to KISS 104.1 in Atlanta GA and there's a show called "Lost in the 80's" when the dj said this was by the Pointer Sisters, I almost passed out. Another of life's great mysteries..SOLVED

  • @theoriginalladypimp right here with you, just found out today it was the sisters

  • @Passion4Gotten i thawt it was a dude 2..lol

  • @Passion4Gotten no, I agree, didn't know til today it was the pointer sisters.

  • @Passion4Gotten me too, came on the radio the other day and i thought they had the song labeled wrong...but man I love it!

  • @Passion4Gotten your a fanny.

  • @Passion4Gotten I just heard it for the first time today at some restaurant and thought it was a dude too until my mom told me! haha

  • @Passion4Gotten Understandable, I don't know why anybody should take offense. Besides, think of how many dudes sound like women. Good song. :)

  • @Passion4Gotten You're not the only one! Ruth Pointer really has a deep voice.

  • @Passion4Gotten: Me too!!! I didn't know it was the Pointer Sisters until much later. This song is the sh@t; nice roller skating jam.

  • @Passion4Gotten I thought the same thing!! no worries great song

  • @Passion4Gotten same here,i reckon these are chicks with dicks, good tunes but they dont half sing like they have got a pair of BALLS.

  • @Passion4Gotten dont feel bad.......i thought they let their brother sing tooo!!!lololol

  • @Passion4Gotten you are not alone...I thought it that too...used to think it was a Prince song or something until I got older

  • @Passion4Gotten I though the same thing at the time, lol

  • @Passion4Gotten i thought the same thing when i first heard this song!!! LOL

  • I've always loved this song, and this version sounds even better! Thanks!

  • i love these ladies

  • WOO HOO!!!!!!

  • Im down with mrminidick.....this song kicks ass from start to finish! GREAT LYRICS!

Bring back the ole' school playa's!

  • Awesome. One of my favorite jams of all time. I remember listening to this back in 1984. For many years, I never knew that the sisters actually sang the song. I guest because I didn't hear that trademark Pointer Sisters vocal attack. I always through is was just some RNB funk guy with some back-up singers. Anyway, classic jam. RIP, Sister June. Much love for The Pointer Sisters.

  • Man the first time i heard this in GTA Vice City I though the lead singer was a dude! Then again it was the 80's, dudes sounded and dressed like chicks!
