Seen the Seahorses in 97 in the Olympia in Dublin and I recall they were shit hot that night, looked them up randomly and I find this. let me just say one thing...JESUS!!! What a performance!
I did'nt even know Chris Helme was still knockin around AND doin Seahorses stuff!..brilliant.
agreed i saw in stockport last year, really intimate gig ,was chatting with him.. his vocals blew me away id say his voice his matured, cant wait to see him again... think because he's in the shadow of squire he is underated which is sad considering his huge talent and songwriting ability
Didn't mean to come across as such a mardy arse! just thought such a sublime performance shouldn't have these Numptys wandering around right in front of stage....Must say chris's ability as a vocalist has soared since t'seahorses, always used to remind me of a rabbit in the headlights!! haha.
It was an informal gig for a kids charity, there were folk there who weren't passionate about music but were there just to suport the charity. Did my head in too but what can you do eh? Check out my vid of the Yards at the minster, & check back after 21st March cos will have vid of their 2nd album launch party.....
right fair enough heres the thing , mr squire thought he found sumone who cud sing and write a and album full of "this is the one" and to be honest i do relly like the seahorses , fantastis harmornies , good lyrics evenn though sum ov it is weird, shame they didnt do a sceond album before they all got pig headed and split up
His vocals sound much better here.. awesome! Iknow chris wrote blinded by the sun ,but has anyone noticed squire never played any seahrses songs just roses and his solo stuff when he toured... thats a question id put to mr squire anyway

People only think of Squires guitar on Love is the Law, when they think of the seahorses, when really Chris's voice made it work ( and Stu's Bass)
