How To Make Your Mac "Green-er"

With a mac book, the default settings only allow start up when the power cable is plugged in and I was wondering If you use those apps (faronics power save/ dssw power manager)  will it enable a macbook to turn on without being plugged into a power source (except for battery power)?

this is a bad title no offense. just please change it to a better title. i mean "How to make your mac as green-er" doesn't make since. maybe you meant to say "how to make your mac green-er" or "how to make your mac as green-er as possible"

Well if one uses their computer 24/7 then i would recommend getting SSDs, they will save you power and they have a longer life expectancy then HDDs!

Nice video.

We usually forget that these subtle changes actually do matter.

If 10 million Mac-users started to save energy like this, they would not see much of a change in their electrical bill.

But the total power saving would amount in huge CO2 savings.

The only beef I have with these power savings things, is that putting the HDD to sleep all the time causes it to start and stop alot.

And that wears alot on the HDD.
