The Realm of the Senses is not pornography (unless you find any display of sexuality on screen to be porn). If you feel like learning about it you should read Donald Richieès essay In the Realm of the Senses: Some Notes on Oshima and Pornography.
i notice you have criterion collection as well as the eclipse collection box sets, you should also purchase the films released under Home vision, because they are basically criterion dvds, if you notice almost all criteiron dvds are branded HVE which is home vision. I have several of these which include Mr Klein, The Rocking Horse Winner, Claude Chabrol films such as Story of Women, and Masques, and Warm Water under a red bridge which is also a Shohei Inamura film.
i get man with the criterion 4 release Michael Bay films!!!!!! he's at the same high like Kurosawa, fellini,Bunuel,Passolini,Bergman,Kurick or Renoir?i don't think so
The Ugetsu movie is amazing and the specilal features wow
u don't have Onibaba one of the greatest Japanese films? Empire of passion by Nagisa Oshima is really a great film
i own In The Realm Of The Senses [is porn] and i didn't like it
Thanks! I have probably 80% of all the Japanese Criterions that have been released. I am missing a few " random" movies as well as the Seijun Suzuki movies. i will be sure to buy most of them over the next months.
Unsure about Chinese and Vietnamese though. Only have The Last Emperor. I wish Criterion had more Chinese cinema and at least one or two Korean and Vietnamese films....
I just finished watching Ugetsu and I have to say it is an amazing movie. Unsure what I was expecting beforehand and seeing this was my first Kenji Mizoguchi film I was really amazed by the story and the style of Mizoguchi.
Awesome movie and indeed one of the best early examples of Japanse cinema.
I want the Oshima eclipse box set sooooooo bad.

Yea, Micheal Bay was weird to see. Maybe for the popularity.
Onibaba, I have not yet ordered....definitely next time.
In The Realm of the Senses, hearing that it is porn, isn't very good to hear. Oh well, I will check out later on....
First some more Mizoguchi greatness!

I watched it yesterday and it was really an amazing movie. The Criterion itself is really good as well. Highly recommend Ugetsu!
