  • There is no safe container to store your values while you’re at work; not living your deepest values will leak on you

No sudden moves: You’re looking emotional commitment right in the eye. slapCompany Question to you: Where do you stand?

  • i have yet to try dmt. wish i could find some.

  • how would one know if they were a shaman

  • depends on whether you are in a culture that recognizes a shaman.....if you aren't, you would feel extremely misunderstood, like an alien.....if you are in a culture that recognizes it, you'd probably be identified more easily, and at least have that level of validation

  • You like this video. Thanks for the feedback! See more videos you liked.

  • 2:06 where can i find that pic?

  • he is the smartest man alive

  • @pulfdiddy if only he was alive.

  • I hate the music! The wonderful words get lost.

  • @Luvina07 I completely agree with you It does not seem to capture his topic and the mood his explanation strikes

  • I was really enjoying listening to this speech, but found it INCREDIBLY difficult to listen to McKenna over that annoying synthetic soundtrack that has been added.

Why was it added? To underscore and add drama to what he's saying? Aren't his words enough? I quite enjoyed the pictures too, but they didn't distract from his words.

I would love to find a version of this recording without the stupid irritating unnecessary poorly-mixed soundtrack.

  • amazing, if only everyone could have the insight and have the awareness of our actions and there effect on everything around us we would all be in a much better place in every conseviable way

  • AWSOME!!!

  • i think what's most fascinating about this man and this talk is that the very message is so strong, our operating systems might go to lengths to reject it by placing it in the "crazy" bin, just like it places the rest of our experience into bins.. the ego is the strongest operating system, and it works hard to not become obsolete- its what says to us that "A is how we understand A to be, and B is how we understand B to be"; "this is how this is and that is how that is" - a very thick firewall

  • And now consider the arrogance of government when they make such substances illegal... idiots.

  • Love the alex grey artwork!

  • Excellent speech. I have never heard about this guy before but my new interest to learn more about the function of what makes the world around me, and myself, has brought me to this video.

  • great analysis

  • hahahahaha....

  • Have you ever tried LSD, true LSD?? Or any psychedelics for that matter?

    Planterzs???

  • so i guess you havent tryed mushrooms lsd or weed have youtry some dmt ? god made them anyway lol like god made your brain no? odd how our brain have receptors for the chemicals in these herbs

  • our brain has receptors for many things. ;o

  • i got high off of newports one time....does that count? O_o

  • lol i couldnt tell you. I never had newports before

  • @planterzs god is everything.

  • @sleepingwhale

I refuse to worship the created more than the Creator.

  • @planterzs we worship the creator for what he has created, otherwise we would not exist and he would not have deserved worship. its not about worship, its about using the tools within our own mind to make the next step forward. however i dunno if i agree with terrence, need to do some more research into this.

  • the medicine is "gods" tool. but one has to be aware of this, one becomes aware of "gods" wonders and a more clear reality of the constant truth at the base of any reality.

  • wisdom, reality

  • so do these entheogenic plants evolve to fit our brains or vice versa? it cant be coincidence.

  • they have evolved us ... the elohim or the mushroom im presuming ... are you talking about where you can get some shrooms?

  • i guess the question was.which came first the chemicals in our brains or the chemicals in the plants. did the brain evolve? or did the plants?

on one hand, plants were here long before us and our brains are extremely malleable so its possible the brain adapted to the plant.

but it could also be that evolution pushed the plants to interact with animal life in distinct, protection-like ways. and so the plant would have evolved.

    any thoughts?

  • id say the mushroom is what evolved the human brain, the question your asking is as old as time itself, which came first the chicken or the egg, perhaps you should look at the bigger question and perhaps the answer is both and the question is both, its like the whole evolution over creationism thing , darwin was a mason and to be a mason you have to believe in a god, therefor when he made the theory he wasnt destroying god,its not always the answer that provides explanation but sometimes the question

  • We need a mushroom geek squad to help our operating systems....

  • thats what i like to hear!

  • i did 15 mushroom trips in one summer last year and i sometimes feel a bit schizo and pshychotic but rare occasions

  • probably just some anxiety...............

  • yup anxiety.

  • i used to do pharmacuticle grade lsd like everday for a year ... and i dont know ... i dont think others are at a level im at ... your probly on the same level ... just smoke a bunch of weed and youll feel fine ... marijuana is the control in the experiment of life

  • Comment removed

  • nah. its probably nothing but anxiety. there is a great program I used, after my first strong acid trip. i had alot of anxiety afterwards, worried about ego based bullshit, that wasn't real. attacking anxiety. its written by psychologists, and in my opinion, gives you just as deep an introspective look into your actions, and reactions to your thoughts. its different, and is highly recommended for anyone. it literally can be used by anyone, to better themselves, and their reactions to stimulus.

  • thanks bastard i will check that out.

  • The only reason that psychedelics have detrimental effects is because they metaphorically reboot your system when a mind that is not ready or willing to be reprogramed it will try to hold onto the old system because through culture the old system is so well ingrained into society that any body that is trying to experence new levels of consionus and realises that the system we are in is one of control and represion is then labled through society as a psychotic.

  • A time machine would be a handy mother fuckin machine right about now. Some cool shit to learn 2000 years back.

  • I am NOT feelin the creepy music....

  • he was married, but you never know. Wouldn't make him less of a person anyway... in fact he'd be even cooler.

  • brilliant. Very provoking.

    1.

  • ...Our psych health system is based on a patholological model. They'll drug you, not reassure you, or help guide you in interpreting your visions, which are sacred. Wait till you're a little older and completely responsible for yourself... or make sure you have a parental system of support for your visions... i'm not saying psychedelics are detrimental - being diagnosed as psychotic, or even misunderstood by 'authority' is hurtful to your development... be aware...

  • I agree, I took psilocybin when I was younger and I realize now I wasn't ready for the experience. Luckily i was never diagnosed as psychotic. That was years ago and I haven't done it since but I'm looking forward to trying it again now that I feel ready.

  • ive dont like a million shrooms and lsd hits and trust me if anything it makes you saner ... only if you are controlled by the ego will the shrooms or trip affect you negatively ... just dont take five different kind of paper hits and look at comics cause thatll get ya ...

  • correct. Well put.

  • thank you ... you know the word jedi comes from the name jedidia ... a name of king solomon ... yoda in fact comes from the first letter of the tetragammaton ... the hebrew letter yod ... check out my vids you might like them ... peace to the middle east

  • I did not know that! thank you wise One!

  • i am only a figment of my own immagination ... you are the smartest person you know ... trust no one ... and check out my vids while your doing that ...

  • I am a fan of McKenna... Nice vid. Wish he'd add some words of caution to adolescents with regard to psychedelics... wait til you're done developing. Seriously. Psychedelics blow open your third eye chakra, and if you're not already somewhat aware of the implicate order, and of your place in the universe - it can be really disturbing... and since you're not of legal age and in charge of yourself, this disturbance can be interpreted by parents/teachers/modern psychology as PSYCHOSIS.... (cont'd).

  • My culture is black, black isnt a skin color its my culture, who I am

  • smoke some dank weed! Pass that shit!

  • put the schwag down

    smoke sativvaaaa

  • Glad to see you are into Mckenna ;-)

Psychedelics (Entheogens) are the way to go

Authorities throughout thousand of years have been trying to suppress this truth and many other basic truths/information, as in an attempt to stop us from evolving.

Know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.

    The truth is within

Know thyself, and ye shall know the universe and the gods.

  • Fathom the Glory

  • mushrooms obviously produce psilocybin for a reason, and i'd like to see some scientists try to argue that it's an evolved defence mechanism like they do with THC...

    because it really isnt

  • i feel sick to my stomach. WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO OUR FAIR SISTER? RAPED HER AND PLUNDERED AND RIPPED HER AND BIT HER.

  • Well not always, but once I got it, it stuck forever.

  • I've always understood the connection.

  • "Weed" is a drug abused be so many people if you studied what this video was about you would learn to appreciate the proper use of MEDICATION like CANNABIS!

  • Weed is really good disk cleaner too

  • A very very very slow one at that.

  • Depends on how much of a master you are In my opinion

  • Very interesting.

  • great video, only the music sometimes a bit loud and hard to understand what Terence say.

  • its usually hard to understand what terrence says lol

  • If you don't claim your right, the judge will acknowledge your omission as consent to be persecuted.

  • fantastic, terence always had a way with metaphores.too bad 95% of the world only sees what they are told and never dares to try and look behind the curtain. thanks BernardoLang!

  • A lot of metaphorical bile that's been said a million times over with no factual ideas on how to move forward or how it works.

It's funny to see people glorify this when it serves absolutely no purpose other then to amuse the mind just one more time, rinse and repeat. I want to hear people with factual solutions or at the VERY LEAST, NEW IDEAS.

Stop kneeling and figure it out on your own so the world can reap fresh perspectives.

p.s.: Good example of the Primack principle.

  • the factual advice here just soo simple...step one...take some mushrooms..and then take it from there....u can figure it out urself unless u are brain dead lol!!!....shift ur consciousness!

  • i think its funny how you say about hearing new ideas and fresh perspectives and then you say primack principle. Did you come up with that principle yourself?

  • No, Joel R. Primack did but that is besides the point. 5 ignorant thumbs down because people think that Terence McKenna is a revolutionary thinker when he is simply repeating "metaphorical bile" but still giving enough credit to the shamans. You need to wake up to some history. I will give a short description of the Primack Principle in another reply. If you don't believe that he stole the idea (Novelty Theory) from the Mayans, you need to watch Ian Xel Lungold's presentation on their calendar.

  • In ancient Greece, Aristarchus of Samos (310-230 B.C.E.) proposed that Earth is not the center of the universe, as Aristotle had claimed, but instead revolves around the sun. He beat Copernicus by 1800 years but was so far ahead of his time that even the most forward-thinkers couldn't absorb this idea.

"A discovery is named after the last person who discovers it. Of course the name of the principle can change if someone else discovers it" -Primack Principle

  • I think you need to stop memorizing history and start thinking critically since you obviously put so much of your self worth in intelligence. Re-read what i said and THINK about it and you might understand what i was saying. By the way i would much rather the thumbs that are pointing down to be ignorant then enlightened, you probably should have made it an even number also......

  • If I had any new ideas, I would get an interview like he did or make a video or write a thesis or essay/assay but I don't/didn't. Hence the commenting and REFERENCING. YOU should THINK about it.

Notice how I wasn't attacking anyone in the comment section but simply commenting on the VIDEO and used a reference. Get your shit straight or get the fuck off the internet.

  • Well your not delusional i'll give you that, but your definitely dumb. You were attacking people, but i might be mistaken so i guess i'll cancel my internet subscription lol. One love my little ego maniac.

  • ♥

  • swyft187, I had to comment since your name's almost as good as mine ;oD The fact is, things which need saying are never said ENOUGH. The things which are repeated on a daily basis to the masses through mainstream media are what is building the new fascism (I think Jordan Maxwell is great on this topic). We need people like this guy more than ever, whatever we may intellectualise about their 'credentials' or sources etc.

  • hey swift i think your missing the point. it does not matter who came up with the theory, but instead only that the theory is right. there is a bug in the operating system of this planet and the only way that we will ever make it through to see the light of tomorrow is to get rid of it. that my good friend, is the point that this man is making.

  • Expansion of consciousness and downloading a new hard drive can be done without drugs.

  • True, but a healthy dose of mushrooms now and again can be seen as overclocking your system to maximise the potential expansion. God dammit with the metaphors now I'm doing it.

  • Only to a certain extent.

  • Old mates hit the nail on the head

  • it's gr8 thanx 4 sharing...*****...love Terence McKenna

  • indeed. an excellent explnation,

  • Mesmerizing!
