When Hillel died (original guitarist for those who dont know) john took over, he loved the band and looked up to hillel. they were good friends. josh was pretty much best friends with john. josh loved the band and loved johns playing. when john quit josh joined. seems pretty damn natural to me. i love john frusciante. but i'm not a retard so i dont hate on josh.
