its proven fact that on christmas in stalingrad soldiers from both sides actually met eachother on terms of friendship, had drinks, joked, and had a good time, they even exchanged gifts, it ma be hard to believe but its true
Good attention to details by the director. The Wehrmacht often had to commandeer Russian tanks and PPSH's because top of the line equipment was nearly always diverted to the SS, while being issued a bolt action rifle and maybe one or two MP-40's (Which were not nearly as common as we think) to an assault sqaud. Scavenge was the name of the game throughout the Eastern campaign on both sides.
@IamDayoldHate1 that was indeed the case as most of the top - notch weaponry was saved for SS Panzer Divisions and Elite divisions within the Wehrmacht such as the famed 'GrossDeutschland' (Greater Germany) division, leaving the grunts to scavenge for themselves! besides, the PPSH was a weapon to be feared in close-quarter combat with such a high rof and was prefferable to the Schmeisser mp40 and the T34 outclassed all German armour up to that time in the war! war makes gr8 history eh?!
It happened even more,i read alot books by Sven Hassel, the danish soldier who enlisted into wehrmacht, and believe it or not, most of germans didnt cared about Hitler,or russians about Stalin,it sayed that sometimes they were eating togheter in those holes that artillery made on ground, showed pictures of their mom/wife, home, exchanged food and all, even if they werent speaking the same language
@roykuo4 There were indeed hate from each side towards the other but sometimes your comrads are more important than fighting each other + most of the soldiers were just following orders not really avenging for the motherland or the fatherland.
@roykuo4 in berlin it was different. in stalingrad. both sides were tired of seeing people die, and fighting. not having much sleep or what to eat. they could give two shits on what is going on.
@ImJustBoredLol I myself have no Russian, and what they were talking to each other does not make sense to a German asked what you do with the wounded? A Russian responded well but you go first!

@morbidangelofdeath1 That guy Muller, he fired first, and then, all hell broke lose. Captain Wizland had the scare of his life! (ironically, Muller got promoted, as he later on teases them with some scraps of bread)
DECIDED TO END THE TRUCE!?!?!?

@SkadTheReaper Sven Hassel is not the best source on WWII historical data. Most soldiers in German Army were NS. The Wehrmacth was a NS organazation.
