  • thats one ugly man xD

  • i wonder what he was doing under the desk @ 1:03

  • Is that Ron Burgundy?

  • It would be hilarious if there was a sudden earthquake in HIS studio.

  • i was in a 9.0 beat that

  • @gc3k nehhh you can have that record if you want :P

  • not as good as judge judy when a earthquake happeds

  • hahaha the camera crew are standing like nothing!!!

  • At least they're doing what they should be doing, for the most part. Unlike most people who run for the damn door like idiots whenever theres an earthquake.

  • love the cameraman :)

  • @iamaladycanyousaveme

Ehhh, earthquakes are so common in L.A.

  • i think letterman should be the victim of the earthquake.

  • One of them looks like will ferrel

  • i been in a 7.1

  • I grew up in California and this is funny as hell Hahahaha

  • east coast people think earth quakes are funny until they had a 5.1 little quake and they paniced like pisseys

  • @tryby12 Try 7.2 ~ Anchorage, AK.....

  • Camera man: Oh shit! where's my desk!?

  • @iamaladycanyousaveme you are right. The news should go back to showing negative criteria with the absence of fear as it always does. just kidding I'm not a hypocrite

  • @iamaladycanyousaveme take a joke...

  • @iamaladycanyousaveme

If you're from California, you know that a small quake like that one won't really do much. It's comical that the cameramen didn't move but the people who are supposed to keep calm while reporting the news did.

  • @iamaladycanyousaveme no but its funny the news anchors all hid while the cameramen were standing like nothing was going on...lighten up there scrooge

  • Under the desk. under the desk. pussies

  • @OdiseyThe pussies? yea, you'd be the guy that gets killed when a piece of the ceiling falls on your head.

  • @OdiseyThe pussies? yea, you'd be the guy that gets killed when a piece of the ceiling falls on your head.

  • @exploremagic23 It's funny because the camera men kept shooting while the anchormen actually hid, and also it's funny because you're a faggot.

  • @iamaladycanyousaveme if you dont see the comedic value in this your a prude and should keep to yourself.

  • Check Kent Shockneck of CBS2 News he was the first guy in LA to annouce to the Nation in 1994 that the quake had caused damage in the San Fernando Valley.

  • if i wa sthe camerca id be like

(Shoves camera) Fak The Cameras I QUITT (runs into hiding)

  • lol the camera man just stays calm like "fuck you...Im the cameraman"

  • whos seen anchorman? At the beginning they say they cant show real names or give clues to who the story is based on, but i swear its that anchorman..!

  • @ensuredrink1 nah i aint im just being realistic... and u knw it

  • Is it just me or does 0:49 look like a deleted scene from Anchorman with Will Ferrell? lol

  • I actually remember seeing this news cast at the time and it's still funny to watch.

  • This isnt funny at all this guy is such a punk u dont joke with mother nature

  • If David was sitting at his desk like he is now when an earthquake hit, I guarantee he'd be under the desk too. What a creep.

  • That's exactly the right thing to do, especially with a bunch of heavy lights hanging above you.

  • Ain't so funny now eh. well it's funny for us in CA :D

  • Comment removed

  • @iamaladycanyousaveme Yeah there's a lot of stuff hanging from the roof in a studio like lights, but it's still a little bit funny that they crept under the desk on live TV ^^

  • So thats where they got the Ron Burgundy character from!

  • See...

    iamthewitness. c o m

  • Thats some Anchorman shit LOL!!!

  • cameramen are supposed to stay there ground,it makes them badass

  • Letterman you would be the first person to hide under the desk.

  • under the desk under the desk lets not run the risk . classic

  • I'm 42 and have been in California my entire life and I never wait to determine how big a quake my get. They get big fast and if you wait you might be too late. But this Letterman clip is pretty funny.

  • @gordon5cc Taking a falling stagelight to the head doesn't make you manly. It makes you dead. Or retarded. Or, if you're lucky, it just hurts like hell. But yeah, if nothing ends up falling, you do look pretty wimpy.

  • Camera man: "Uh, I stand behind a camera, I don't have a desk..."

  • @tedperez He's the couragace cool guy that doesn't panic or the one that dies if it was the big one.

  • @tedperez NOw that same camerman "lifts things up and puts them down".

  • At first I was like "Will Ferrel?!?!?" lol

  • LMAO. I know, i thought the same thing. Its like Ron Burgundy

  • The white guy says "pardon us" before he goes down.

  • LMAO 0:49 Ron Burgundy.

  • What pussys haha.

  • The news anchor sounds just like Ron Burgundy.....hilarious.

  • America's bravest and best, our news anchors.

  • Starting to think Letterman has laugh tracks that play during his show.

  • LOL, that guy looked like Ron Burgundy without the mustache.

  • that white guy at 0:49 looks like a will ferrell saturday night live character . lol

  • 0:50 I thought the other guy was Will Farrel for a second which made it kind of funny.

  • @rleary1 hahaha he even sounds like Ron Burgundy

  • Its really funny, they are even making fun for earthquake also.hey, news reporters, save yourself under the desk ,ha......ha.......

  • to be an audience member on the letterman show, i thinktheres an IQ requirement of under 10

  • Classic David Letterman; nothing funny but the audience laughs their face off.

  • how is that funny?

  • i was in that earthquake and yes it was that frightening, i saw vehicles' front wheels jumping off the ground 12 inches, explosions of fire coming out of the streets, entire buildings collapsed, power transformers exploding like bombs, i did we think we were being bombed, the entire freeway system was destroyed, you couldn't even drive out of the zone, it was like a war zone, amazing how well the infrastructure was reestablished in such a short time

  • @fictfact being in a large earthquake and seeing such destruction and death ect is something that you can never forget. the most haunting noise iv ever heard waz an earthquake and then the complete silence apart from the od car alarm and scream from people.

  • @dddave999 I think they found it funny because we in California experience earthquakes, or rather tremors that amount to nothing. Plus, this was a very long time ago as you can tell from the clothes. No please, we don't need any pretentious attitudes do we?

  • love how the cameramen just like .. uhhh

  • Dude that is LAME look what happen to haiti and japan....woukd you laugh if it happens to us??

  • Everyone is trained to go under their desks in Japan!

  • Wait...I don't get it...what's funny?

  • I don't find this to be no laughing matter Dave

  • @lsatep double negative. So you DO find this to be a laughing matter.

  • I was looking everywhere...

  • where can I fing that video of them?

  • Of course it does that, the earths crust is always moving.

  • from me (profile) ...

  • this is ron burgandy, under the desk under the desk

  • the fear in the black guy's eyes

  • i'll laugh when david letterman is on air and there is an earthquake and the light fixture goes straight through his skull.

  • I hate TV talk shows they are always making fun of EVERYTHING and that paid audience laughing at their "jokes" all the time pisses me off. I mean there was a freaking EARTHQUAKE idiots! But they laugh to get the money.

  • you think this is funny!?!?!? this is life and death on the line!

  • LOL

  • under the desk

    AND ME?UNDER WHAT?

said the cameraman under the desk...it will only be more hard to find you later, stupid

  • i would like to see the reaction of Letterman live with an earthquake - so after we can make fun about it as he does with the others

  • News Anchor: Let's stay calm. Under the desk. Under the desk.

Cameraman: SHUT THE F*** UP! I DON'T HAVE A DESK RIGHT HERE SO I'D KEEP ON FILMING. IDIOTS!

  • This will forever remain a classic. Amazing and funny!!!! LOL LOL LOL. That camera guy deserves a metal and an award for "NOT GIVING A SHIT ABOUT NOTHING" lol lol lol lol lol lol!!!!!!!!!!

  • 99 people are cameramen.

  • The guys eye when HUGE lol! The camera man is awesome!

  • Dates please! It would be nice to know when these things happened.

  • @hannahfontana69: Read the description

  • @hannahfontana69 earthquake in LA in 1989.

  • In many disasters people don't react. Or they stick to the familiar. Watch the next time there is a fire drill: people won't move an inch. They won't use the emergency exits.

  • what were they doing under the table?????? OMG!!!

  • Gosh, they were DTF.

  • 98 people work in the studio

  • The show must go on! The cameraman stays put!

  • LOL

  • That cameraman got shafted, where does he hide?

  • what do you mean by "you camera people" ?!

  • I hate letterman.

  • hmm , i think its not funny

  • I feel the earth move under my feet

  • This is the Funny!!

  • Lol I thought there was going to be a little earthquake while Dave was talking

  • Classic expression on black dudes face. js :|

  • Pussies!

  • I guess it looks funny but they did exactly what you should do at that point

  • press no. 6 continuously. .let's see what's ur reaction. . xD

  • @AmericanPowerBase Maybe your first clue was the apparel? Or the video quality? Or Letterman still has hair? Moron.

  • They did exactly as we were trained to do in school. The old nuclear attack/ Air

Raid "Drop Drills" of the 1950s, were changed to "Earthquake Drills" in the 1970s. Every last Thursday of the month we would hear the sirens wail and we had to "Duck and Cover" under our desks. I couldn't understand why people would make fun of public figures (sitting under 300 lb light fixtures) doing exactly what we were taught to do.

  • anything to shut that ugly dog up is great!

  • lmfao at lets not run the risk

  • that cameraman has either lived in Japan or Indonesia or both

  • The real Ron Burgandy.

  • what a controll fail!

  • Pardon US * !

  • Okay it gets funnier with each time. But you gotta admit better safe than sorry & it's smart to go under the desk a moment.

  • @jebsievers mo it really isnt cause if the roof collapses than your fucked and it comes down on the desk then squish its over

  • oddly enough, their careers didn't take off after that...

  • Cameraman: Hey, what do I do? Hello? Hi?

  • letterman isnt funny anymore idk i dont find him funny at nowadays

  • Overhead studio lights must have been TERRIFYING to be under.

  • Holy shit....he has hair! :O

  • I'm certain that at some point in their lives these 2 guys got tricked into doing something ridiculous thinking everyone else was gonna do it.

  • @Wyatt — There's vid on YT from WFIE and WAVE in Evansville when a quake struck in the 5 AM hour during the morning news... Granted, it wasn't a severe quake, but this is an area that really doesn't get any noticeable seismic activity at all, yet the reaction from the anchors there was considerably more gentle.

  • Cameraman: Man i win a lot of money:))

  • I really wonder... what do they actually do if they're on the news and there is a quake. Has anyone seen a video of something like that?

  • I don't blame them. Those overhead TV studio lights are rather heavy.

  • hahaha what a bunch of pussies

  • Fuck you new york.

  • You EastCoast bastids think this shit is funny??

  • getting under anything during an earthquake will kill you if the structure your in would actually fall down on you.. getting next to an object will save your life because it'll create a "triangle of life"... google it.

  • @docshuck The Triangle of Life theory encourages people to put themselves at far higher risk seeking safe zones which they are statistically unlikely to discover while the seeking of them places them at much higher risk during the shaking. You should instead instantly seek a doorway, furniture, or get near an interior wall.

  • @RacmusDK ....or move the fuck out of California!

  • LOL!

  • lol the camera guys refuse to save themselves, I can just imagine them shouting, "No, the show must go on!"

    xD

  • @ParamorexxTwilighter lol! as the whole building is going down they have one hand on the camera as theyre buried in rubble

  • Ron Burgundy!

  • here's the best advice anyone can give you

    are you ready?

    Advice: grow the fuck up

    have a nice day

  • lettermans a dick

  • I remember that guy with the fro. It's been so many years. I wonder what he's up to now?

  • He looks so young or im just blind.

  • will ferrel?

  • That was a minor earthquake the one in 89 was more destructive

  • @xCrazyKidNoventax In reality, there is no difference. Both ways you're dead. How about just running outside? Not being under things falling is way more safe than being under a desk. That's what the buildings in California and other earthquake zones were built for: Just enough time to evacuate. And before you say, "20 story building falling outside is worse," if it's falling outside, you have a better chance of not getting squished.

  • @xCrazyKidNoventax Well, a ton of wood, metal, and concrete falling on you directly as opposed to falling on a flimsy table (yes, flimsy in relation to the rest of the building). I don't think there's much difference. In a single story house you might get away with it, since there's less over you, but two stories or more and you're looking at tons upon tons of debris.

  • @xCrazyKidNoventax They tell you to get under a desk or table when there's a nuclear blast as well. You think that's really going to save you?

  • got to hear more cow bell....

  • #LOL @ cameraman

  • never saw david letterman as a young dude

  • wow they are telling people to get under the desk and the audience is just laughing... I will be laughing when their ass gets smashed by something falling...

  • Cameraman: "come on you pussy's" lmao

  • Camerman was like "I don't GIVE A FUCK."

  • @PrUnEJuIcEtHeThIrD The camera man was just laughing and shaking the camera.

  • @PrUnEJuIcEtHeThIrD That's because cameramen are hardcore.

  • @PrUnEJuIcEtHeThIrD shut up

  • @PrUnEJuIcEtHeThIrD

Camera man was like "Fuck, i don't have a desk!"

  • @PrUnEJuIcEtHeThIrD Cameraman: DILLIGAF?

  • cameraman was like... wtf u idiots

  • @sofilina1

But the idiot was the cameraman him self...

  • @niettevragen but it was just a lil shakin

  • @sofilina1

Look around you...how many things are hanging above your head and next to you ? you know how many lightes and iron bars are hanging from one side of the wall to the other ? First thing you do is to go under the table, or stay between 2 rooms (under the horizontal part of the door)...

  • @sofilina1

running, jumping from windows taking elevators are things idiotic monkeys doing...try to avoid frenzy subhuman who loose it in times like this...you probably going to get hurt or worsed die from their madness...

  • @niettevragen OHHHHH... i havent been in any seriously damaged earthquake... but there was one situation i was freaked out.. and i was run out like crazy out of building.. but it was just a lill earthquake.. but the sound of that freakin thing make me crazy... i am a panic girl.. but i dont need to worry.. we dont have an earthquakes here :* sorry if I made some mistakes.. i just got back home from the Discoteque.. and i am an europe girl.. so... if my spelling was bad.. i am drunk and im sorry

  • fuck letterman

  • that was funny

  • David Letterman looked really young back then. He looked like Conway Twittty

  • lmao
