  • Top ten of all time! Elvis rocked, rolled and inspired.

  • Elvis had the best voice in 'recorded' history. Voice, looks, talent, personality, humor - the best entertainer.

  • There will never be another Elvis!!! His voice still sends shivers and lives on in many hearts

  • Is that Ross Perot in the background at 0:54?

  • Talent, powerful voice, charisma, that guy had - has just everything !!!

  • forever in my heart, my king

  • The best version ive ever heard

  • i've heard better versions of this song imo. Hampton Roads evening show in 1972,which can be heard at the the end of THIS IS ELVIS, and Aloha 1/14/73 top this.

  • @pricepittsburgh yes, the 1972 version was a February Vegas performance and was a bit mediocre in my opinion. As i said before, his performance seen at the very end of THIS IS ELVIS is one of his best and it sends chills up my spine. When this record was released in 1972, the 'b' side was THE FIRST TIME EVER I SAW YOUR FACE and it failed to chart.

  • @msmithstud The rehershal for the Aloha show is actually beter than the live one.

It's a tad more uptempo with a little more emotion without being over the top.

  • @pricepittsburgh are you talking about 1/12/73 aka ''the alternate aloha'? I have that concert on dvd and it's also pretty good. It did become the highlight of his show from 1972-1974.By 1975, he had begun to phase out Suspicious Minds and Trilogy, which were staples of his show in previous years. Triology was eventually replaced with AMERICAN THE BEAUTIFUL. He introduced the song towards the end of 1975 and performed it relentlessly in 1976.

  • @msmithstud Yes.

It seems like he gets a tad more conservative on the 01/14 version where he seems more relaxed on 01/12.

You know as well as I his moods went up and down depending on how he felt from one show to another.

The entire 01/14 Satelite show he's clearly nervous at the magnitude of it all and not cutting lose with the humor and exciement seen in Vegas and arenas. Or he didn't feel it appropriate to get too loose for those around the world who had never seen his 70s live act.

  • my favourite recording of this song is when some idiot shouts "i hate you elvis" and elvis comes right back with "F**ck you" and the audience love it.

  • God bles

  • when i was 16yrs old my bedroom wall was full of elvis i am now 49 and my home is full of elvis and i am proud to say i love elvis till the day i die

  • It still moves....

  • love this song

  • This is of course a good version, but I don't think it is the best in my humble opinion. By 1975 Elvis was a little bit tired of "trilogy"; and in December the american medley was replaced by "America The Beautiful". Nice version anyway.

  • BEST VERSION , WHY NOT ?

BUT ELVIS IS THE BEST & NO DOUT

  • Brilliant as always, but it doesn't beat the Aloha Rehearsal version!

    What year was this recorded?

    Thanks for the upload.

  • Wow!!!! :-)

  • This version will blow....

  • Still sets the standards !

  • did not blow me away .

  • el mejor de toda la historia

  • Had the honor to see Elvis perform 3 times. His voice never failed him. Elvis is the King of Rock n Roll. No one will ever take that away.

  • Long Live The King!♥

  • You lucky duck deannamarie29 to see Elvis live would have been an experience I would have treasured the greatest singer of all time what a concert to see.

  • ELVIS,EL REY. UNA VOZ UNICA

  • it brings a tear to my eyes everytime i listen to this song the world was truely blessed with him and continue to be blessed with his music x

  • Elvis jest jedyny. Trylogia w jego wykonaniu to arcydzieło!!!

  • I cry cause I'm 27 and I've never had the pleasure of seeing elvis. He's the best there ever was or ever will be. Long live the king and love live dixie!

  • @dsgboba7x

Close your eyes and you can see HIM!!!

  • @dsgboba7x I'm in the same boat as you :( I'm only 15 but I'm always told I was born in the wrong era bc of the love I have for the King of Rock n Roll♥

  • I just wanted to say how fortunate we were to have him as long as we did, there will never be another human like him.

  • I am sixteen, and being an Elvis fan these days that makes me incredibly weird but I don't care he's just amazing and beats anything that's around these days

  • @No1RebelRebel Have no shame in proclaiming your love for Elvis' music, as his music will always remain fresh, as music has not improved, on the contrary, of course! I was in the same boat when I was younger but I stood firm in my own belief regarding Elvis as the greatest and all true critics agree with this, so to Hell with the ignorant begrudgers who deride him as some sort of antique! Music has gone full circle and it's sad that the climax is the s''' of today! LLT King!!

  • @No1RebelRebel It's not weird at all. It's more common then you think that teenagers love Elvis :P

  • @No1RebelRebel I have my freinds daughter she is 16 and her room is walll to wall pictures and posters of Elvis!...her room is like a shrine to Elvis..lol...i kid you not! so your not the only one! :)

  • @No1RebelRebel ty 4 having a voice and an opinion sweet 6teen lol :) and u r certainly not weird for liking and loving this music being song by the greatest singer/ voice ever in the history of music :) the only singer/ voice 2 come very close 2 elvis is micheal jackson :0 another great great artist :) but aint it weird :( that they both left us at a very early age :( the like of those 2 we will never ever see :( or hear ever again :(

  • @TheGlenmanusskinhead Hey Dog-Shit - Hows the unbridled mind. ???

  • @No1RebelRebel I am 63 and my kids, grandkids, and great grandkids know Elvis

  • @No1RebelRebel It is great that you discovered the magic of Elvis' amazing voice and it no way makes you weird. It makes you smart to recognize great music performed by American's greatest Idol. I was an Elvis fan by 1959 and I was also listening to everything put out by The Platters, The Five Satins, and Frank Sinatra. My Parents were always playing the music from the 1940's on, so I was hearing all of the different groups of each era. Check out Bobby Darin, a great performer.

  • @No1RebelRebel - being an Elvis fan at 16 in this day and age DOES NOT make you weird, it simply makes you SMARTER than most of the other 16 year olds!!! Taylor Swift or Justin Beiber and others that people your age are calling "all the rage" cannot even compare to talent like this, and would not even be fit to polish this mans shoes.

  • @No1RebelRebel you are not weird i am 51 and most of my friends are not into Elvis that is what there tell me

  • @No1RebelRebel Not weird - just got good taste.

  • @No1RebelRebel And I am speaking as a Beatles fan - no Beatles without Elvis.

  • @No1RebelRebel me too however i get over this by beatng my bullies and down-pressure pig ignorant gits by a blow to the nasal region, downward, this give extreme blood cavaties to explode, ie nose bleeds, bullies need to be bullied.

  • @No1RebelRebel You're not weird you're normal.

Elvis had real talent and charisma, he wasn't a manufactured product.

When he was young he could actually dance naturally and not just do someone'schoreography.

He could actually sing well and sing al genres of music not just one style with pitch machines in a studio and the best parts of each take edited together. He didn't sound crappy live he often sounded better.

How many today are horrible live?

Elvis was and always be the King.

  • @No1RebelRebel

In my mind, you are one of the chosen ones. To be an Elvis fan is something unique and never taken for granted. Most kids nowadays, a lot of them being your peers, don't know beauty if it hit them in the face. They're busy indulging themselves in bad taste with the likes of the music industry today. As for you, being an Elvis fan at sixteen shows something about your character. Take care.

  • @No1RebelRebel can i just say when i was 13 it was 1986 and on my school bag i had rock n roll forever Elvis, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent etc evryone else had Micheal Jackson, Madonna,Whitney, Bon Jovi etc etc but i tell you now i am still a teddy gir always will bel tho all those from school have moved on and seeing them now they are amazed that i am still into the musuc i was then goes to show that it will last forever

  • Elvis is King of Rock-n-Roll, eternally, historic, adamant..&Humanity will never again be graced with a talent such as His.

  • I'm 67 and have growm up with him.He is the greatest. Many people think Mick Jackson is or was the new King. BOLOGNA. On Jackson's best day. he couldn't hold a candel to Elvis ,even on his worsg day, even if Elvis had laringitus

  • He died when i was born. I love him. GREAT voice.

Tobad he was to nice and couldnt say NO to anyone.

  • every version he has done was great!!but this ones not even close to other versions, the aloha version much better!

  • not the version i was looking for but my word that was powerful ..long live the king

  • It is not bad, but it is far from his best version. It is too rushed and clipped. I think the very best version I have heard thus far was from the cd, An Afternoon In The Garden.

  • Awesome upload, loved it,the king at his best, take good care Jerome.

  • Yes awesome Elvis and the Stamps nailed here.

  • Nice to find such a spectacular version. Elvis was NOT "phoning in" this song. He was just really meaning and enjoying singing it. Good for him..,, and us too. :-)

  • Elvis was good lookin, and hit his notes, he was a one of a kind...

  • Ever since my best friend was killed in Vietnam on October 3rd 1969 I just cherish this Song...Hallelu, Hallelu, Halleluya!

  • très très beau

  • this version is good..BUT,THE VERSION HE DID IN ALOHA,14.JAN.73,IS MUCH BETTER..HE HAS A REAL SINGER FOCUS ON THAT SHOW..IN THIS VERSION HE IS NOT SEROIUS AT ALL..BUT ELVIS IS ELVIS ANYWAY,I KNOW THAT..BUT HIS VOICE HAS TOOO MUCH VIBRATO HERE,AND HE IS TIRED TOO..HE IS STRAINED IN HIS VOICE AND HAVE A KIND OF WHEENING IN HIS VOCE IN THIS VERSION. I MUST SAY..THAT ELVIS IS MUTCH BETTER IN EARLIER VERSIONS.(CINCERLYFROM A BIG ELVIS FAN FROM NORWAY)

  • chills!!!

  • Happy birthday Elvis

  • I love his music...my mother loved him all of my early days of growing up and now that she isn't here, I find myself being drawn to him more and more and his music not only soothes me but makes me happy to my inner core...I sure hope Elvis knows how happy he did make us while he was here!!

  • I agree, Elvis was truly the most beautiful man that has ever graced this earth!!!! Love his music, his style, his looks, the whole package. There will never be another!!!!

  • This version was really good, but I think it is second to the one he did for the Aloha From Hawaii, the end of the song was just awesome. Also does anyone know the name of the guy who plays the flute in this song he is awesome.

  • . . . and Elvis was, indeed, the most beautiful man who ever walked the planet; I'm just so sorry he never found true peace and happiness. I had the privilege of growing up listening to him and seeing him in person before he became famous and thereafter and have many photos we took of him during those years, including some of me and my friends with him. I wouldn't take anything for them. The fact that so many people love him worldwide who never saw him is testament to his tremendous talent.

  • Sadly, J.D. Sumner passed away 11-16-98, but before that, he was the owner of that fabulous deep voice we heard on stage with Elvis and on his recordings. For 18 years, J.D. held the Guiness World record for recording the lowest bass note. As of 2011, he has been surpassed only 3 times by vocalists Mike Holcomb (1984), Tim Storms (2002) and Roger Menees (2011). Elvis LOVED J.D.’s voice and reveled in hearing him hit those incredibly low notes, especially when they were singing gospel music.

  • @MsStoneWoman You're so right. Elvis LOVED J.D.'s voice. He used to playfully get mad at him - calling him a "show off." Ironically, Elvis originally tried out to be a part of a gospel group - the Blackwood Brothers I believe....But they said he couldn't sing harmony. Lead yes, but not harmony (not easy for many people). J.D. wasn't officially singing any more, but was the manager for the Stamps, but when Elvis called asking for them to tour he said, "No, I want JD too."

  • Is JD Sumner always in charge of the super deep bass ?

  • @twostrokeornill1 He was until he sadly passed away.

  • Nicew

  • @delhidog Freddy Mercury was truly a monster. But a singer's range is only a part of his/her arsenal. It's what the singer can communicate... For me, when Elvis was at his best, wow...

  • He was rightly named The King of Rock and Roll...no one like him to date...looks, charm, voice...He was The Package...what a shame...still missed...always Loved.

  • Love This Video David Reminds Me Of The Gospel Nights We Had On Your Site You Did An Awesomee Job With The Show And Im Sure We All Appreciated It I Know I Did You All Were Great Thank You For The Great Times With His Shows Luv Ya Both Hugss xxx

  • elvis ...king.....a prince has come...Andy....love them both elvis presley ,,,andy probyn,,,thanks lord..hallla luha,,,the truth does march on..............

  • nice job but freddd\ie mercurys 5 octive range is hard to beat

  • His voice, his looks, his personality he had everything ..God how I wished I was Priscilla

  • If you're interested and have satellite radio (XM/Sirrius) Channel 19 is 24/7 FULL TIME Elvis rock! No other artists, just the King! Yes, he was one of the most handsome men ever in the entertainment world with a voice to die for. A shame he didn't live longer to full his dreams and keep us all listening to what type of music he would be singing today. Rest in peace Elvis, hope you're entertaining my parents that left us too young also.

  • If my memory serves me correctly .. this song was sung at his last concert... Of course I can remember the day he passed.. I was 12 years old... so in love with Elvis Presley.. of course along with the rest of the population.

  • this is NOT the best version...

  • as my nan said he is one good lookin fellow i grew up listening to him i been to his home 4 times i loved my nan not just for the american holidays but to see my favourite singer too .... alive an well in all his fans

  • If you are an Elvis fan...no explination is necessary...if you are not an Elvis fan...no explination is possible....

  • good version but prefer hawaii version 1977 but he was and always be the king /tcb

  • God gave this man a gift to sing. I love Elvis voice.

    PS:Solomon or Sheba

  • He was amazing. No one like him, even today 2011

  • Before the Beatles, Stones, etc. (WHO I LIKE!!) Elvis was my hero!!!!

  • @timzp- you are right about his three faults. Yes he was human, and not the only superstar to succomb to the stress of a life on a pedistal. Still love him

  • This was absolutely fabulous. His delivery of this song is beautiful beyond anything. What a treasure he is for us to have with us today. God gave him as a sign of His love to us, his people.

  • Im a 52 year old dad on my daughters computer. I was blessed enough to have seen Elvis live during his dynamite March 74 tour. I have been the worlds biggest fan since I was 6 .Elvis had something that just cant be put into words. Once you look at him, you simply cant take your eyes off of him ! Charisma, electricity, whatever, just doesnt describe him.He was an absolute divine spiritual presence . He had the looks of a God, the voice of an angel, and the moves of a panther. He was THE MAN !! TCB

  • @deannamarie29

I agree. Saw Elvis in 1975 and his charisma was beyond belief. A friend's father didn't like him, but somehow managed to sneak in to the end of the concert. He became an instant "convert" due to Elvis's incredible charisma.

  • @deannamarie29 I am a 51 year old mom and grandma. I never got to see Elvis in person, but loved his Gospel music and his other music. Elvis had what it took to perform, live and love. He is still the man to many and always will be. My mom is 77 and still loves him. If us kids can't figure out what to buy her, we always buy her something pertaining to Elvis and she loves it.

  • @karen48T my dad is 65 and he idolizes Elvis till today. For Christmas I gave him an ipod with only elvis songs and he was so excited we would look at him and he would be singing the songs with his eyes closed in the middle of the christmas party

  • @SuperPrincessvanessa Hi, I just wanted to say thank you for sharing that story. I'm only 45 right now, but I can see myself at 65 or even 85 doing the same thing. Your DAD knows who's the best!!

  • @Lorenzoslions thanks, and i forgot to mention one thing those sames songs I have on my Ipod and im only 41 but grew up listening to Elvis record with my father ever since I can remember I must of been 6 or 7 I didnt know what the guy looked like but in my mind I visioned him black. Also I admire how humble he was people would call him KING and he would answer only Jesus is king. He was just heaven sent to us I love Elvis

  • @SuperPrincessvanessa Well I'm not yet 26 and I love Elvis. Parents only played good music and now that's all I can relate to.

  • @deannamarie29 dude, i adore elvis and cant believe you saw him...i am amazed! please tell us more....is it true he had a magnetic presence, something undeniable and unexplainable? do tell, i just want to know what it was like to be at the concert, the atmosphere, what people said after...was it the best experience ever? i wish i was there! peace!

  • @deannamarie29 Oh, I am so incredibly jealous that you got to see Elvis in concert my friend-in the nicest possible way, of course. I have been a fan of of his since I first saw him on tv in 1973 (I was 5) and i have yet to hear a better voice/singer than Elvis Presley.

  • @deannamarie29 Beautifully put, as I often say, I'm an outrageously but I have loved The King since I was a kid. As you said, the charisma, the amazing voice, just the presence of the guy. Elvis Presley was an incredible one off.

  • @deannamarie29 You speak the truth! Very well spoken and I totally agree!

  • @deannamarie29 ABSOLUTELY HE WAS AMAZING

  • ONE FINE LOOKING MAN AND A GREAT SINGER !

  • Awesome version. I love the Flair he adds to this version.

  • The defense I have for this version: It's said that Elvis was great when he was challenged & why his early music was great & his come back music was great. I think Elvis should have gone the route Bob Dylan went -- in that, when Dylan performs live you never know what arrangement of a song you're going to get. This is how Dylan keeps his music fresh & interesting. Presley should have done it too. In this version here -- he deviated. Had fun. You can hear it. He pushed it. This was Elvis.

  • love him brillant

  • I agree with Monica. Hawaii was the definitive live version. Right down to the sweat dripping off the Kings nose. There will never be another Elvis. God rest his soul.

  • i love you Elvis, te amo de paixão

  • @matt1corey What are you, a vocal coach?

  • The King of Rock will forever live in his music and his fans....WE LOVE YOU ELVIS

  • @MrChinesecrested You're deaf!

  • A little faster paced. He seems very high too. Excellent no matter...

  • luv yah!!!

  • Awesome singer and song. Love and miss you Elvis forever and a day.

  • lol he sounds like he had a few in him lol

  • You are right! im blown away with this version, thanks for sharing. Im still a loyal Elvis fan,ive tried getting into other solo artists like springsteen ( Wembley July 5th 1985 was excellent, Bruce a real Elvis Fan ) and though i like bruce he can never top the King, in looks, performance,. Cept bruce does perform in the uk. Long live the King of R&R...Cheers, paul.Oh yes, a single release of this would crash the charts no probs..TTFN

  • Why is it so difficult to get the version released as a single? it is easily the best .

  • thanks for share really thank you

  • thank you for posting the pic's the song brought a tear to my eyes god bless u

  • Yes,,,it`s a Super Version 4 sure ! :) Thanks 4 posting it !!

  • Excellent!

  • TCB

  • Its not Elvis!!! DUH!!pretty good impersonator though.

  • @crazybob1306 You alright son?Is this the first time you've ever heard Elvis sing?

  • Im a straight bloke. I think Elvis may have been the best looking human to ever walk the earth.

  • @timzp abreed

god was in a good mood creating him

  • @timzp...I think you are right. The nose...the eyes...the lips...the hair....but the talent....amazing. He was special.

There will never be another like him. Btw....have met a few Aussie fans and I think you are all unique and special.

  • @timzp absolutely agree with you there

  • @timzp

when God tasked himself at making the perfect man, this was the result. But to God Almighty's dismay, he was still a man with faults. E's three weaknesses in order, girls, pills & then fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches. I've read on many sites that The King would eat 12 to 15 of those heart cloggers at a sitting. RIP King

  • @piatoscanoangel you stupid wonderbread jerkoff there is only 1 god and he didn`t create this fat redneck peckerwood

  • @ThePloppypop Only one God, mhm? Elvis wasn't a "redneck" either, he was from Mississippi.

  • @ThePloppypop you sir are an idiot. first of all dont you dare say those things about The King. Second of all God created everyone. third, if you are not a fan of Elvis then why did you watch this video? and fourth it takes a very stupid jackass to post a comment like your comment. go and listen to some fake popstar with too much implants. youll enjoy what you listen to and the rest of us wont have to hear about your idiotic point of view.

  • @timzp I am straight also and I agree. How can anyone not agree?

  • @timzp funny you should say that. my husband told me the exact same thing, that elvis was a beautiful man

  • @timzp I do agree with you, he was in the words of Waylong Jennings, "the most beautiful man to ever live. What a wonderful voice.

  • @timzp If you listen to the version and the others you will see that Elvis' health was not good, he never holds the long notes as he once did. I saw him the last show he performed in Indianapolis, and he was still the best.

  • @timzp MANY a straight bloke has shared your sentiments. In fact, I am thinking of one who used your EXACT words. God bless this specimen of a being that God has shined a light on us with Elvis 'presence.

  • @timzp you could be right about that that

  • The best by far would be the Hampton Roads version (1972). Just listen to the orchestration on that one. It sounds magical.

  • After all these years, nothing by Elvis Presley surprises me---except this. This is an excellent and rare variation of his American Trilogy. This is the best!

  • I think the best version of american trilogy I've ever heard, is when he performed in madison square garden. Its on the cd "an afternoon in the garden" that one blows me away everytime I hear it.

  • If anyone would like to see a very good Elvis Tribute singer, put MichaelDean001 in your search box. Best Elvis tribute i've heard. You'll be very surprised.

  • I agree no one does it better than elvis. He is the king and the King will live forever in our hearts. Great vocal power

  • American Trilogy was always a fantastic song. Elvis put all his vocal power into this exciting piece of music every time he performed it...I wouldn´t say that it is the best version, because everyone likes another version better...actually all versions are great...., just because it´s Elvis. And Elvis was, is and will forever be one of the greatest singers the world has ever seen....by the way, my favourite versions are the ones from Aloha and Dixieland Rocks.

  • greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaat

  • best version from 1972 -1976

  • This is good, but I think his 1972 version from the album "An Afternoon in the Garden" is his best version. You can find it on youtube. If you would like to hear it, add this to the end of youtube.com

  • amazing!!!

  • frikin right on man

  • I don't know if it's the BEST version -

I like the one from Hawaii better; but it's interesting to see that you could hear the different singing with the gospel touch:

  • Indescribable.

  • this made me cry the kng
