And even if she did just mean Hamas, she was still declaring support for a terrorist organization that deliberately kills Israeli civilians, calls for attacks on Jews in its charter, and endangers even the population it controls in Gaza by deliberately putting military installations and arms caches nearby or inside schools and mosques. Dude, I saw the video clip of what she said. No amount of excuses can cover up for it. She said "for it" when the question was "for or or against Hezbollah's call for Holocaust". I cant see whats black and white about it. I have more sympathies for the girl now though. She was probably not used to the fact that outside the campus supporting Holocaust is a bad thing. Her comments about her response ("for it") is simply absurd, so if she actually said that she was talking about something from the beginning of the conversation it's evident she's backpeddling. At the beginning she was asked if she "supported" Hamas, not if she was "for it". Later, a statement about genocide of the Jews was made and she was asked specifically (for the first time in the conversation) if she was "for it or against it" (the comment). She said "for it". It's quite clear.

Yes, the middle east issue is nuanced, but he didn't ask about the whole middle east issue. In fact, he acknowledged that outright condemnation was too complicated for a yes/no answer, and then he asked a simple, pointed, specific question: are you for rounding up the Jews in one location so that Hezbollah won't have to hunt them down? She answered "for it."
