PIXOS WORK: I got mine for Christmas and I love them! I spray mine with water. Then check it often. If it isnt sticking together spray it with a little bit of water, Not too much though. Good Luck :D

Lol, They are made by the same people who made aquadots. Aquadots were recalled for having dangerous chemicals. I am pretty sure it even brought some kids into a coma. Lol, at 1:26 "pixos are safety tested" I hope so.

It was only one factory in China that was producing the aquadots with a substitute chemical bonding agent. The company that owned AquaDots had a specific recipe they were supposed to follow (one that was non-toxic), but the Chinese factory substituted a cheaper, toxic bonding agent that caused children to become ill when ingested.

It's unlikely that the newer products contain the chemicals.

According to Wikipedia, the Pixos brand is a renamed version of Bindeez / Aqua Dots. The toy was renamed to avoid confusion with the problematic recalled brands. The problem stemmed from a Chinese toy manufacturer who substituted a cheaper, but unapproved material in the toy. Apparently, this toy is now manufactured according to the original specification with non-toxic materials.

Even with the tainted toy, as long as its played with as designed, it's not an issue. If a child ingests the beads, then the tainted toy can cause health issues. However, the Pixos brand is the re-released version of the beads (after the recall) and is using the originally designed non-toxic materials. But, there's no way to know if the coating on any of the beads has been tainted. So, if your child is prone to eating small toys, then it might be best to avoid this one.
