I've tried chocolate chips, and even done peanuts through the champion at the same time. The chocolate chips don't do much (just bits of hard chocolate come out), but the peanuts were great because you end up with a kind of peanut-butter flavored banana desert. I've also tried adding in a strawberry or blueberries every once and a while and you end up with a really nice fruit treat with swirled in fruits.
this is clearly best for the bananas over a blender, but what about adding chocolate chips and a bit of milk, especially if the chips should only be chopped a bit. is there another machine you'd recommend? thanks
@theRazdow Stay away from milk and chocolate. They, along with some other fatty animal products are the reason America is the center of obese, out of shape and diet-failers of the world.
I use my Omega juicer to do that from time to time. It`s really just homogenized bananas. It doesn`t have any of the ingredients that would constitute ice cream besides the banana.
@prowork@prowork Champion's are tanks. I bought mine in 1988 and it STILL runs although I traded up to a Norwalk two years ago. Don't worry about damaging it--just follow the manufacturer's instructions and you'll be fine.
I have the same juicer and when making this ice cream I chop the banana into about 5 pieces. Other Frozen things I mix into it like strawberries, blackberrries, maybe a piece of orange and a few blueberries.
spoken like a true Jesuit. thou shalt not slice thine bananas in more than thrice, nor shalt thou partake of sorbet on the sabbath! hell fire await thee!!
yeah but i got sick of all that Paul washer forsake your sin crap. and the hypocrites just kind of depress me ya know . I am afraid I am going around calling people Jesuits and other silly names when I am clearly wrong.
next thang you now i am gonna be dumb enough to buy this wood chipper thing a ma bob
You could use the screen mesh, but it just will be really messy because some of the banana will come out the bottom and some out the side. It's better to use the blank piece. You can get it cheap on ebay or something I'm sure.
Would this work in you vitamix?

the champion juicer is strong enough for this? I don't want to over-wear it and have it break down faster on me...

It's like a serbert instead of straight banana.
Try it.

Yeah, lately I've been alternating mango chunks (from Trader Joe's) and bananas, it makes a kind of mango-banana swirl that's really tasty.

OMG, yum! That is way too simple! Have you ever tried making it with anything other than bananas?
