If this guy had the least bit of power over what my children learned, I would move. I would not allow my children to be educated in such a backward system. This is disgraceful.
ALTHOUGH I'M A CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN (Baptist), I no longer believe that the Bible teaches eternal torment or suffering. The Bible teaches eternal punishment, but it's not eternal torment. In my popular Internet article, TRADITIONAL DOCTRINE OF HELL EVOLVED FROM GREEK ROOTS, I explain how and why teaching of eternal torment entered early into Christianity and how Scriptures have been misinterpreted and taken out of context to support that teaching. ~Babu G. Ranganathan (B.A. theology/biology)
SCIENCE SHOWS THAT THE UNIVERSE, because of entropy, could not have sustained itself eternally. Einstein confirmed that space, matter, and time had a beginning! That beginning had to be supernatural because natural laws have no ability to bring the universe into existence from nothing. The supernatural cannot be proved by science but science points to a supernatural intelligence for the origin and order of the universe ~ HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM (Article)
@Mogley52 Something having a beginning does not justify the claim that something supernatural was behind it. You need to demonstrate with evidence and theory what supernatural is and how and why it would have anything to do with our Universe. Sorry, you fail in understanding the scientific principles. On a sidenote, according to quantum physics, the Universe did not have a beginning. Beginning and end requires time. Time did not exist before the Big Bang. Do your research properly!
@Mogley52 If you knew anything about quantum physics you would know that the potential for particles to spontaneously generate from quantum fluctuations is there. Considering our universe has, overall, a zero-energy profile, it probably didn't take that much for it to come into existence.
NATURAL LIMITS TO EVOLUTION: Only evolution within "kinds" is genetically possible (i.e. varieties of dogs, cats, etc.), but not evolution across "kinds" (i.e. from worm to human). How were species living, reproducing if their reproductive system, vital structures, and organs hadn't evolved yet? Read my Pravda Internet article: WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS! I discuss: Punctuated Equilibrium, "Junk DNA," genetics, mutations, natural selection, fossils, genetic/biological similarities between species.
DEBATE IS NOT OVER. In Darwin's time not enough science was known to refute macro-evolution. There was no understanding of genetics. Darwin thought the cell was just a simple glob. No one knew about DNA, RNA, proteins. Modern evolutionists now know, but the theory is entrenched as gospel and a lot of personal motives are at stake as well. Just saying that something evolved doesn't make it so! Read my article WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS!
DAWKINS, HITCHENS, AND HAWKING REFUSE TO DEBATE with creationists who are SCIENTISTS, such as the scientists at The Institute for Creation Research. Dawkins and his friends only debate non-scientist creationists. Read my popular Internet articles: ARE FOSSILS REALLY MILLIONS OF YEARS OLD? HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM, ANY LIFE ON MARS CAME FROM EARTH, WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS! MISSING LINKS THAT NEVER WERE!
ALL REAL EVOLUTION ( i.e. varieties of dogs, cats, etc.) is the expression, over time, of already existing genes. Evolution is possible only if there’s information (genes) directing it. Only variations of already existing genes are possible, which means only limited evolution and adaptations are possible. Nature can only work with the "cards" it has. Nature is not a genetic engineer! It can't invent new genes. That’s evolutionary faith, not science. Read my article, WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS!
@Mogley52 Genes are nothing but molecules. New genes are born when replication errors produce an altered chemical structure. As such, the whole process that produces genetic variation is fundamentally dumb. No information is needed to direct it, since it is merely the result of the interaction of three-dimensional objects.
@Mogley52 The discovery of DNA did nothing but offer a coherent biological explanation for evolution, a theory that until then had had to rely on the study of phenotypic traits but without being able to ground them into anything physical. Genetics has only strengthened the theory of evolution by natural selection. As for the universe, "natural laws" are a description of its physical properties.
GENETIC INFORMATION DOESN'T HAPPEN BY CHANCE, so it's more logical to believe that genetic similarities between all forms of life are due to a common Designer who designed similar functions for similar purposes. It doesn't mean all forms of life are biologically related! "Junk DNA" isn't junk. These non-coding segments of DNA have recently been found to be vital in regulating gene expression. Read: WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS!
NOT EVEN ALL EVOLUTIONISTS agree on the fossils used to support and reconstruct human evolution. The bones are incomplete. There's no certainty of the bones belonging to the same creature. They can reconstruct whatever they want from these bones, and they have. There's no hard evidence that humans evolved from an ape-like creatures anymore than there's hard evidence that apes evolved from a four-legged dog-like creatures. Read my article: MISSING LINKS THAT NEVER WERE
IMAGINE A FISH WITH PART FINS, part feet with fins evolving into feet. What survival benefit would there be? The fish couldn't use its fins or its feet, and there are no fossils showing such a creature existed. They only exist on automobile bumper stickers! Read my Internet article: WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS!
APES ARE QUITE COMFORTABLE IN HOW THEY WALK, just as humans are quite comfortable in how they walk. Even inheriting a slight change in the position of a muscle or bone, for either, would be excruciatingly painful and would not be an advantage for survival. There's no hard evidence that humans evolved from an ape-like creature anymore than there's hard evidence that apes evolved from a four-legged dog-like creature. Read Internet article: MISSING LINKS THAT NEVER WERE.
BLIND WATCHMAKER NO ARGUMENT. Natural selection is no "blind watchmaker" because it can only "select" from variations that have survival value. It doesn't produce variations. It only operates once there is life and reproduction, not before, so it couldn't be involved in life's origins. A partially-evolved cell (an oxymoron) would quickly disintegrate. It couldn't wait ("survive") millions of years for chance to complete it and then make it living! Read: HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM
“VESTIGIAL” A USELESS ARGUMENT: At one time dozens of structures in the human body were considered vestigial until our knowledge about them increased and we realized they weren’t vestigial, after all. It’s now been published that so-called “Junk DNA” isn’t junk, after all. These non-coding segments of DNA have recently been found to be vital in regulating gene expression (when, where, and how genes are expressed). Read my article: WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS!
oh man... this guy says hes providing a more accurate representation of history and that the liberal left didnt even see that there was a pre existing bias.. if that is so than why replace the world imperialism with "expansion", or change the slave trade with "triangular trade"? cmon people!! wake up and smell the bull shit
For those dedicated to getting more religion in school instead of more math, science, history and English, Miss Teen USA demonstrates exactly what the fruit of those labors will be:

Is it any surprise that the U.S. is behind Estonia and Lithuania in 4th grade math and science?
"...the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion" John Adams. the Treaty of Tripoli. I want to write this quote on a giant mallet and hit people with it when I hear them talking about "how this country needs to go back to it's Christian values"
@theviolator23 A lot of people just like to call everything they don't like "liberal". I seriously know some people who thought Sharia Law was part of the liberal agenda.
(My best guess on THAT gem is that it's derived from the fact that most liberals will readily allow the practice of Muslim religion in our various western countries.)
I taught World Geography in a south Texas high school in the 1990's. I probably taught more about evolution by showing one video on the evolution of man than the biology teachers, who were intimidated by the religious conservatism in that community of 25,000. I now live on the island of Kauai but I support the Texas Freedom Network, who are fighting these bozos. I loved teaching, but the only place in Texas I really liked was Austin; at least I did, back in the late 60's and eary 70's. Aloha.
Fred Phelps is free to shout despicable lies at the bereaved yet our scientifically educated teachers are not free to speak about the facts of evolution to students! What kind of double standard is that? Which form of freedom of speech is the most worthy of being defended?
How is it that one of the two states not signing on to national education standards writes the text books for so many states in the country. All other US states should not use Texas school books!!!
Those wacky yanks. They are so funny. Oh wait, no they're not. They are bunch of ignorant right wing Christian nutters who are a complete disgrace. That these dangerous fools are allowed to influence the education of Children simply boggles the mind.
I presume that this chap would have the fundamental seperation of church and state removed from Texan politics textbook. It shouldn't be too hard for them since all those books seem to contain are the words 'VOTE REPUBLICAN'. Please accept if my knowledge of this is incorrect, I'm British... where this kind of politicising children would not fly.
A liberal bias in textbooks, im laughing so hard that i actually spit out some lung :/
This is so fail on so many levels, where do you find these loony toons ?
What the rest of the sane world sees as scientific fact, is downgraded to "liberal bias" by a fundamentalist sitting on the board of education in texas, im sorry you have to deal with these morons at home.
If only we could convince creationists that the Jesus character of the bible insisted that they eat their children, then these lunatics would finally disappear.
I'm pretty sure that what this guy is talking about is indoctrination. In schools, religion should be a topic to study and debate. If people want to 'teach' their kids faith, or whatever, it should be done through their local church or by the parents..
McLeroy makes a lot of statements he has to retract later. He doesn't research. he doesn't consider opposing views. He doesn't seem to care about the education of children. Who votes for these people?
it's no small wonder the U S education is slipping. When we teach unfounded beliefs as if they are established fact, we'll get psychotic people as graduates.
Like I said, it's honestly pointless to debate this with you at all. For one thing, you've now completely swung the argument to the "Big Bang Theory" when I never brought that up, and that was NEVER what this was about. Your point in the beginning was: "The laws of thermodynamics, by their nature, invalidate the theory of Evolution." (Note: You did not put it that eloquently, but I've taken the liberty of translating your sub-par writing efforts into something we can actually understand.)
@SuttaBro "Note: You did not put it that eloquently, but I've taken the liberty of translating your sub-par writing efforts into something we can actually understand.)" good job. Thanks for re-posting what i said. If you have no argument, don't start making fun of grammar. It just proves how inadequate your argument really is.
@Amritizcool66 Ok...well, in all honesty this argument isn't going anywhere. It is difficult for me to back up my point because it's not something that can be easily/quickly explained. In order for me to demonstrate why the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics does not refute Evolution, I would need to go into a huge discussion on both...and honestly, there's just not enough space in these little Youtube comment boxes for something like that.
@Amritizcool66 All I can say is that I am currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Biochemistry. All of my studies as well as the lectures I've attended on the subject have led me to the conclusion that there is absolutely no reason to believe that the Laws of Thermodynamics impede Evolution in any way.
The Creation vs. Evolution debate has many, many angles. In all honesty, we can probably know 100% because each side has things that are extremely difficult to prove with observable data.
@Amritizcool66 Therefore, I do apologize on one level. I stand firm in my beliefs that you were wrong on this subject, but I was very rude about it.
Do I believe that your sources are heavily biased in favor of the Christian religion? Yes. I don't know that I'd quite say "Fundie propaganda" because that's a bit extreme. But admittedly, I do not esteem them to be valid sources.
That still doesn't give me an excuse to be rude and completely invalidate your opinion.
@Amritizcool66 So, if you would like me to prove that my argument is not "inadequate" as you put it, I would be happy to give you a handful of links. But to support your point, you would probably just see them as "Atheist propaganda" and heavily biased.
It works both ways...so there's no point in debate. We are both far too hard-headed on this matter to ever change our opinions.
@SuttaBro I respect your opinion and I did not intend to change it. I was just simply stating facts. Weather you choose to (or not to choose to) believe them or think them credible is in your hands. I would like to see the links nevertheless. You can send them to my inbox. Thanks for your time :)
@Amritizcool66 You are a complete moron who clearly lacks a basic understanding of the principles of science.
Evolution has not been proven wrong. Natural selection has been observed in nature.
The law of thermodynamics has little to do with either proving/refuting the theory of evolution. It is simply a poor attempt by creationist fools to undermine scientific processes that they clearly do not understand.
Much research/discussion has been done on this topic and a simple google search...
@SuttaBro A simple google search will show me theories that have no factual basis, only assumptions that we cannot observe. Natural selection does not show how life was created. In fact it has been scientifically proven that life cannot start by itself from basic elements. Simple science. And If you actually understood the laws of thermodynamics You would know that energy cannot leave or enter a system. So therefore the big bang is physically impossible. Evolutionists never fail to entertain
Like all fundie idiots, I assume you will ignore this truth.
If evolution was so easily proven wrong by a well-maintained and universally accepted law such as the 2nd law of thermodynamics, why would scientists continue to promote it?
If you're going to denounce scientific principles based on antiquated scriptures...well, I can't stop you. But please don't try to use scientific falsehoods to back up your arguments...it just makes you a fool.
@SuttaBro The "theory" of evolution is still promoted due to the fact it is the only non-religious explanation.
"don't try to use scientific falsehoods to back up your arguments...it just makes you a fool." its nice you admit evolutions falsehoods. Evolution is like a clock. If one part of the clock fails, everything fails. Most of evolution fails so the said clock will never work. Enjoy trying to push your bs on me:)
@Amritizcool66 W-o-w. Just wow. Honestly, I can't even debate this with you further. You lack even a rudimentary understanding of the principles that you try to throw around so matter-of-factly. It's kind of frightening, really.
Believe whatever misinformation your brainwashing church is shoving down your throat...but please *STOP* using science you clearly *DON'T* understand!
@SuttaBro Someones getting hot around the collar. Give me ONE fact where science has empirical LEGITIMATE and TANGIBLE facts to prove the big bang. There are none. Simple physics prove otherwise to the big bang. Thermodynamics prove energy cannot leave or enter a system. The big band says otherwise. Who is right? science or the big bang theory? You evolutionists never fail to entertain me with your circular logic and your pathetic beliefs:)
@Amritizcool66 If theories like evolution and the big bang were so easily dismissed by SIMPLE, scientific truths that EVERYONE is aware of (especially people in the field who actually hold doctorates in their area of study), they would not continue to promote them.
You have absolutely no idea what the hell you're talking about. You're either a very clever troll, or a completely vapid zealot.
@SuttaBro Read " in six days" where 50 Scientists with PhD's tell of their research Into creationism and the failures in logic and science they have spotted along the way to their conclusion, That Evolution is a monstrous abhorrence of science that should be removed immediately. So dont take my word for it, Ask any person with even HALF a brain if they actually believe in evolution and they will either answer "no" or "Science has no answers" Happy trolling!
@Amritizcool66 And to that point, I said (and continue to say): That statement is a scientific falsehood.
The laws of thermodynamics (and I assume you're talking specifically about the 2nd law; that's generally where creationists cite the supposed "contradiction") do NOT in ANY WAY invalidate the theory of Evolution. PERIOD.
There has been plenty of discussion about it on both ends and ALL scientists (even those who deny the validity of Evolution itself) AGREE that...(con't)
@SuttaBro Do some research on the laws of thermodynamics. Provide PROOF as to why they are wrong instead of just SAYING its wrong. If you cant, well hey you tried :) Give me a link or a viable quote and Then I will reply.
@Amritizcool66 ...the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics does not make Evolution impossible or even unlikely.
Anyone with real knowledge of both Biology and Physics knows this to be true.
Whatever else you may feel about the "Big Bang Theory" or anything else unrelated to this argument is uninteresting to me. I'm sure there are many scientific/religious/societal issues on which we disagree, and naturally you are entitled to your opinion.
I only ask ONCE AGAIN: please do not relate scientific fallacies
On that point, you are incorrect "scientifically", "empirically", or whatever other adverb you'd like to attach.
Please cite other VALID and REASONABLE evidence to support your argument. If this is impossible, please concede your point and move along. It's a big internet and I'm sure there are many other "non-believers" you could be attacking.
@SuttaBro I like how discredit all my facts as false and don't even have the common courtesy of backing YOUR up before you start calling bs on mine. I read book like "case for a creator" and "in six days" and a physics book or two. Then again the internet is also a good place to start. If I tell you the websites where I get my facts and scientific fallacies, you will call it "fundie propaganda" or " biased facts"
@mastergremlin The laws of thermodynamics state energy cannot leave or enter a system. The big bang says all energy always existed, defeating cause and effect, and it also says that energy was CREATED in the big bang. Hence the simple logical and self inflicting error. This is what I mean.
@Amritizcool66 Now you talking about the theory of big bang, I meant the theory of evolution which have nothing to do with the second law of thermodynamics.
Big bang and evolution is two completely diffrent things. Evolution follows the laws of physics, natural selection and the Big Bang follows a complete diffrent path. Which is quite interesting since the laws of physics and the laws of thermodynamics didn't exist before and seconds after the Big Bang. But it's still just a theory.
@mastergremlin Without the big bang there would be no evolution. Not to mention it has already been proven life cannot have originated from a single cell due to the fact atoms do not create life. "But it's still just a theory." its good you realize this. A lot of atheists I talk to do not understand that a theory is different from fact. And cause and effect HAD to have been existent for the big bang to occur. Or else the universe is static and timeless. Invalidating the big bang theory itself.
@Amritizcool66 No, Big bang is a theory on how the universe were created and evolution is a diffrent theory on how life has evolved.
What you are talkin about is the creation of life not evolution. And I'm talking about evolution. let's leave the Big Bang theory alone and focus on evolution.
You claim that the second law of thermodynamics doesn't allow energy to leave or enter a system. and you are correct. However, it only implies to closed systems. Earth is not a closed system.
@mastergremlin the universe has to be a closed system, because energy cannot be created or destroyed. And if you want to talk about evolution, I'm all for it. Evolution is wrong because it has gaping flaws that are not, explained by science. Its is a hypothesis and nothing more. It has been elevated to a theory because it is the only non-religious answer to where life came from. Life cannot have been created from basic elements. Evolution is like clockwork, If one part fails, Everything does.
@Amritizcool66 My friend, the universe is not a closed system. Nor is earth. Earth has had several climate changes over the past million years which clearly show earth is not static. Summer and winter, spring and autumn.
And it is true that energy cannot be destroyed or created but it can transform.
Evolution is a theory but with todays strong evidence supporting that theory it is more or less a fact until proven wrong. Just look at our own history. We aren't the first human race.
@mastergremlin Energy cannot be created nor can it be destroyed. If the universe is an open system, it would invalidate the laws of physics. The big bang is then a result of an infinite universe that is constantly collapsing and expanding ( which is contradicting to the current theory of a finite universe). I never said the earth is a closed system. Solar radiation is how energy enters. The only reason we still follow the evolution theory is because it is the ONLY scientific explanation.
@Amritizcool66 What??? You know, let's take it slow. The universe is an open system in that it has energy that is ever changing/transformed into other types of energy. The plants use photosynthesies for example.
In a closed system, second law of thermodynamics, energy does not transform. Because it has no energy taken in from outside the system nor does energy leave the system. It will never change.
How does this go against evolution or even the laws of physics??????????????
1-the precambrian explosion, the concept that "luck' created the universe and the lack of fossil evidence of transitional phases of man.
2-no it does not. the atheistic cult imposes that on you, making you believe.
3-the flood of noah, is a scientifically accepted cause for the demise of life from earth. also, nothing of science proves the origin of life. sorry to break it to you kid. Come to my channel to argue. I will post here no longer. thanks!
@Amritizcool66 "I will post here no longer. thanks!" . Translation: My sky daddy logic has fallen flat on its face, so to save mine, I will leave because I frankly have no arguments!
@TheGreaterGood80 Amritzcool66 has already been debunked. Don't bother wasting your time trying to "argue" with someone who hasn't even completed his basic Science I classes.
@TVOham I cant prove how old you are. Neither can you. The fact you call me "kid" and "kiddo" show you are older than that. And Yes I do change my age every week. its called aging. You should do some research into it :)
I found that to be disturbing. It's obvious that these guys don't do their homework and that they don't judge a book based on its contents, but instead by the author's alleged reputation.
Men and Women activists devoted their lives to alter peoples preconceptions on the role of gender in society, which was the only peaceful and democratic method of attack!
I wouldn't let this bastard near my teeth or children.
I also love how he fails to mention that the ONLY reason that "men" had to "give" women that right was because men refused to give it to them in the first place.
Hasnt this dentist noticed how teeth are a product of natural selection with redundent teeth like wisdoms. If not I wouldnt let him near a childs teeth..
WTF? What's with all these damned cheerleaders imposing their mental retarded views in our text books? Beginning with the Governor of Texas! The women did not vote? Hell the men had to vote because the women refused them sex until they passed the bill. Only gays and people like McLeroy weren't affected!
I believe that it would be wrong of me to consider this man a member of the Texas Board of Education, in order to be a part of such a committee you have to be rational and not push your religious beliefs on others, science is not a religion it is observation and hypothetical theory based on what is observed, plus this is the big one get ready Creationists.....IT DOESN'T CLAIM TO HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS!!!! THERE'S STILL SO MUCH MORE TO BE DISCOVERED!!!!! Way to make Texas more retarded. Well done.
Then what do we learn? How do we discover? Science doesn't have an agenda, it's simply there as a means to help us better understand the mechanisms of the world around us and develop possible theories as to why those mechanisms are the way they are. We watch, we listen, we learn.
@trainman1995 how do you 'push' science? I mean are we saying that students should be able to opt out of anything, after all don't want to push math, grammar, history or anything else then?
@trainman1995 Then should a family of racists be able to opt their child out of history class because it teaches that the civil rights movement was just and that the holocaust happened? Should a family of luddites be able to pull their kid from computer classes and any class where technology is used?
@Darkstar1484 people who don't want their students to learn about computers for religious reasons should have every right not too, look at the amish we shouldn't force technology on them. Racism is teribble but people have that rght to be racist as long as it doesn't affect others and the parents have final say over the government . the government having control on what is right and wrong is tyranny and trickles up to war racism etc.
@trainman1995 If a government can't decide what's right and wrong the government can't govern. If anyone can opt out of any class for any reason with no repercussion then there can be no educational system.
@trainman1995 Part of the constitution is providing for the general welfare of the citizens, that means education. Educational standards are necessary because without them we have no means of tracking and studying the effectiveness of the education of the populace which will need to take the reigns in the future.
The United States of America is a secular nation. The Founding Fathers did not even mention God in either the U.S. Constitution or the Bill of Rights. Furthermore, they did not create any laws or issue any proclamations to promote or protect the Christian faith. There is not one single legal document that can be cited as legal precedent or that is considered binding in a court of law that supports the claim that the United States of America is a Christian nation.
texas, please secede like your governor threatened, and take the ignorant hillbilly half of this country with you and let the rest of the US move into the future...texan rationalists and progressives, we would welcome you with open arms.
Why the fuck do we have to be educating the people who are supposed to be in charge of education? When you are supposed to be teaching science, you have to, you know, teach science.
If lib's are commie atheist then republicans are Nazi Fascist. Hitler the Catholic hate the left and commies. Thanks for all you Republicans admitting you are truly Nazis.
History is the story of our origins. To tamper with it is stupid and dangerous. Every one has dirty laundry even our country, even this anti-woman rascist nut-job dancing in conservative clothing
We wouldn't even have the honor of living in this blessed country were it not for Christian men who had a love for freedom and liberty and fought and bled for those views. Liberals and evolutionists have been exerting their beliefs and wills on conservatives and Christians for 30+ years. Can you blame us for pushing back?
@graceoverall Christian men did fight for freedom and liberty, they also fought for every one to STATE their view. What they are doing is replacing facts when they shouldn't be, Washington got his but kicked yes, god helped him, but so did the french. Jefferson wrote the declaration of independence, and was the 2nd Vice president and 3rd president and doubled the size of our nation. Woe be the day when every state north of texas forgets it was bought for pennies an acre.
@graceoverall, "Liberals and evolutionists have been exerting their beliefs and wills on conservatives and Christians for 30+ years." No, we've been teaching kids facts and a bunch of cultists tried to stop us and impose their beliefs (or lack there of) on innocent, easily indoctrinated kids. Would you be happy if scientologists tried to remove, say, the civil war from history books because they believed it never happened? (They don't, it's just an example.)
@socrstreets & Grayto: That just goes to show how little you know of Christianity and the truth of the bible. In fact there is a GREAT DEAL of evidence to back up much of the bible (save those few things which cannot be proven). Anyway your hatred does not surprise me because Jesus already told us that the world would hate us because of Him (John 15:18-19). However, we are commanded to exchange hate for goodness (Luke 6:27 & Matthew 5:44). That's the bible I live by.
@graceoverall Really I thought we were talking about our american history which has little to do with the bible, unless you are into the religious sects that came over. Editing our history to impose faith is not very Christian, i thought we pulled crusades for that kind of thing
This man makes me embarrassed to live in Texas. The moment I graduate, I'm leaving. For goodness' sakes, man, BELIEVE IN YOUR RELIGION, GO AHEAD. DON'T FORCE-FEED IT DOWN OUR THROATS. YOU WANT TO BELIEVE IN YOUR TWISTED LITTLE HISTORY, GO AHEAD. JUST GO SIT IN A CORNER AND CRY WHEN EVERYONE ELSE MAKES FUN OF YOU.
I am so embarrassed to live in Texas, only four more years before i can move out of this State. anyone who voted for this nut, and the other retards that are in office to allow this shit, should be banished of the face of the planet. I mean come on how fucking stupid can you be to agree with this! MATH, SCIENCE, HISTORY, AND EVOLUTION FTW!!
I swear, i am so embarrassed to live in Texas, after the next four years i'm getting out of this state; we need to stand up and vanish this nut, and the rest or our retards in office that are allowing this shit. I mean come on how fucking stupid can you get! PLEASE EVOLUTION AND HISTORY FTW!!

It’s interesting to see, a children’s book was NOT okay to ban, but a book explaining Marxism was?
I wonder how anyone can write a thesis on Marxism or socialism without the literature, it's fucking beyond brain-dead.

Mogley52 5 months ago
@Mogley52 Genes are nothing but molecules. New genes are born when replication errors produce an altered chemical structure. As such, the whole process that produces genetic variation is fundamentally dumb. No information is needed to direct it, since it is merely the result of the interaction of three-dimensional objects.
Kalevala87 3 months ago
@Mogley52 The discovery of DNA did nothing but offer a coherent biological explanation for evolution, a theory that until then had had to rely on the study of phenotypic traits but without being able to ground them into anything physical. Genetics has only strengthened the theory of evolution by natural selection. As for the universe, "natural laws" are a description of its physical properties.

GENETIC INFORMATION DOESN'T HAPPEN BY CHANCE, so it's more logical to believe that genetic similarities between all forms of life are due to a common Designer who designed similar functions for similar purposes. NOT EVEN ALL EVOLUTIONISTS agree on the fossils used to support and reconstruct human evolution. The bones are incomplete. There's no certainty of the bones belonging to the same creature.

SuttaBro 1 year ago
@SuttaBro "Note: You did not put it that eloquently, but I've taken the liberty of translating your sub-par writing efforts into something we can actually understand.)" good job. Thanks for re-posting what i said. If you have no argument, don't start making fun of grammar. It just proves how inadequate your argument really is.
Amritizcool66 1 year ago
@Amritizcool66 Ok...well, in all honesty this argument isn't going anywhere. It is difficult for me to back up my point because it's not something that can be easily/quickly explained. In order for me to demonstrate why the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics does not refute Evolution, I would need to go into a huge discussion on both...and honestly, there's just not enough space in these little Youtube comment boxes for something like that.
SuttaBro 1 year ago
@Amritizcool66 All I can say is that I am currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Biochemistry. All of my studies as well as the lectures I've attended on the subject have led me to the conclusion that there is absolutely no reason to believe that the Laws of Thermodynamics impede Evolution in any way.
The Creation vs. Evolution debate has many, many angles. In all honesty, we can probably know 100% because each side has things that are extremely difficult to prove with observable data.
SuttaBro 1 year ago
@Amritizcool66 Therefore, I do apologize on one level. I stand firm in my beliefs that you were wrong on this subject, but I was very rude about it.
Do I believe that your sources are heavily biased in favor of the Christian religion? Yes. I don't know that I'd quite say "Fundie propaganda" because that's a bit extreme. But admittedly, I do not esteem them to be valid sources.
That still doesn't give me an excuse to be rude and completely invalidate your opinion.
SuttaBro 1 year ago
@Amritizcool66 So, if you would like me to prove that my argument is not "inadequate" as you put it, I would be happy to give you a handful of links. But to support your point, you would probably just see them as "Atheist propaganda" and heavily biased.
It works both ways...so there's no point in debate. We are both far too hard-headed on this matter to ever change our opinions.
SuttaBro 1 year ago
@SuttaBro I respect your opinion and I did not intend to change it. I was just simply stating facts. Weather you choose to (or not to choose to) believe them or think them credible is in your hands. I would like to see the links nevertheless. You can send them to my inbox. Thanks for your time :)

The laws of thermodynamics proves evolutionary theory wrong.
Sorry to break it 2 ya Atheists.
Amritizcool66 1 year ago
@Amritizcool66 You are a complete moron who clearly lacks a basic understanding of the principles of science.
Evolution has not been proven wrong. Natural selection has been observed in nature.
The law of thermodynamics has little to do with either proving/refuting the theory of evolution. It is simply a poor attempt by creationist fools to undermine scientific processes that they clearly do not understand.
Much research/discussion has been done on this topic and a simple google search...
SuttaBro 1 year ago
@SuttaBro A simple google search will show me theories that have no factual basis, only assumptions that we cannot observe. Natural selection does not show how life was created. In fact it has been scientifically proven that life cannot start by itself from basic elements. Simple science. And If you actually understood the laws of thermodynamics You would know that energy cannot leave or enter a system. So therefore the big bang is physically impossible. Evolutionists never fail to entertain
Amritizcool66 1 year ago
@Amritizcool66 ...will enlighten you to the truth.
SuttaBro 1 year ago
@SuttaBro The "theory" of evolution is still promoted due to the fact it is the only non-religious explanation.
"don't try to use scientific falsehoods to back up your arguments...it just makes you a fool." its nice you admit evolutions falsehoods. Evolution is like a clock. If one part of the clock fails, everything fails. Most of evolution fails so the said clock will never work. Enjoy trying to push your bs on me:)
Amritizcool66 1 year ago
@Amritizcool66 W-o-w. Just wow. Honestly, I can't even debate this with you further. You lack even a rudimentary understanding of the principles that you try to throw around so matter-of-factly. It's kind of frightening, really.
Believe whatever misinformation your brainwashing church is shoving down your throat...but please *STOP* using science you clearly *DON'T* understand!
SuttaBro 1 year ago
@SuttaBro Someones getting hot around the collar. Give me ONE fact where science has empirical LEGITIMATE and TANGIBLE facts to prove the big bang. There are none. Simple physics prove otherwise to the big bang. Thermodynamics prove energy cannot leave or enter a system. The big band says otherwise. Who is right? science or the big bang theory? You evolutionists never fail to entertain me with your circular logic and your pathetic beliefs:)
Amritizcool66 1 year ago
@Amritizcool66 If theories like evolution and the big bang were so easily dismissed by SIMPLE, scientific truths that EVERYONE is aware of (especially people in the field who actually hold doctorates in their area of study), they would not continue to promote them.
You have absolutely no idea what the hell you're talking about. You're either a very clever troll, or a completely vapid zealot.
Either way, get yourself a fucking education!
SuttaBro 1 year ago
@SuttaBro Read " in six days" where 50 Scientists with PhD's tell of their research Into creationism and the failures in logic and science they have spotted along the way to their conclusion, That Evolution is a monstrous abhorrence of science that should be removed immediately. So dont take my word for it, Ask any person with even HALF a brain if they actually believe in evolution and they will either answer "no" or "Science has no answers" Happy trolling!
Amritizcool66 1 year ago
@Amritizcool66 And to that point, I said (and continue to say): That statement is a scientific falsehood.
The laws of thermodynamics (and I assume you're talking specifically about the 2nd law; that's generally where creationists cite the supposed "contradiction") do NOT in ANY WAY invalidate the theory of Evolution. PERIOD.
There has been plenty of discussion about it on both ends and ALL scientists (even those who deny the validity of Evolution itself) AGREE that...(con't)
SuttaBro 1 year ago
@SuttaBro Do some research on the laws of thermodynamics. Provide PROOF as to why they are wrong instead of just SAYING its wrong. If you cant, well hey you tried :) Give me a link or a viable quote and Then I will reply.
Amritizcool66 1 year ago
@Amritizcool66 ...the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics does not make Evolution impossible or even unlikely.
Anyone with real knowledge of both Biology and Physics knows this to be true.
Whatever else you may feel about the "Big Bang Theory" or anything else unrelated to this argument is uninteresting to me. I'm sure there are many scientific/religious/societal issues on which we disagree, and naturally you are entitled to your opinion.
I only ask ONCE AGAIN: please do not relate scientific fallacies
SuttaBro 1 year ago
@Amritizcool66 ...as if they were fact.
On that point, you are incorrect "scientifically", "empirically", or whatever other adverb you'd like to attach.

If I tell you the websites where I get my facts and scientific fallacies, you will call it "fundie propaganda" or " biased facts"
End rant.

@Amritizcool66 The laws of thermodynamics (the second, I take it) has nothing to do with evolution or even life.
mastergremlin 1 year ago
@mastergremlin The laws of thermodynamics state energy cannot leave or enter a system. The big bang says all energy always existed, defeating cause and effect, and it also says that energy was CREATED in the big bang. Hence the simple logical and self inflicting error. This is what I mean.
Amritizcool66 1 year ago
@Amritizcool66 Now you talking about the theory of big bang, I meant the theory of evolution which have nothing to do with the second law of thermodynamics.
Big bang and evolution is two completely diffrent things. Evolution follows the laws of physics, natural selection and the Big Bang follows a complete diffrent path. Which is quite interesting since the laws of physics and the laws of thermodynamics didn't exist before and seconds after the Big Bang. But it's still just a theory.
mastergremlin 1 year ago
@mastergremlin Without the big bang there would be no evolution. Not to mention it has already been proven life cannot have originated from a single cell due to the fact atoms do not create life. "But it's still just a theory." its good you realize this. A lot of atheists I talk to do not understand that a theory is different from fact. And cause and effect HAD to have been existent for the big bang to occur. Or else the universe is static and timeless. Invalidating the big bang theory itself.
Amritizcool66 1 year ago
@Amritizcool66 No, Big bang is a theory on how the universe were created and evolution is a diffrent theory on how life has evolved.
What you are talkin about is the creation of life not evolution. And I'm talking about evolution. let's leave the Big Bang theory alone and focus on evolution.
You claim that the second law of thermodynamics doesn't allow energy to leave or enter a system. and you are correct. However, it only implies to closed systems. Earth is not a closed system.
mastergremlin 1 year ago
@mastergremlin the universe has to be a closed system, because energy cannot be created or destroyed. And if you want to talk about evolution, I'm all for it. Evolution is wrong because it has gaping flaws that are not, explained by science. Its is a hypothesis and nothing more. It has been elevated to a theory because it is the only non-religious answer to where life came from. Life cannot have been created from basic elements. Evolution is like clockwork, If one part fails, Everything does.
Amritizcool66 1 year ago
@Amritizcool66 My friend, the universe is not a closed system. Nor is earth. Earth has had several climate changes over the past million years which clearly show earth is not static. Summer and winter, spring and autumn.
And it is true that energy cannot be destroyed or created but it can transform.
Evolution is a theory but with todays strong evidence supporting that theory it is more or less a fact until proven wrong. Just look at our own history. We aren't the first human race.
mastergremlin 1 year ago
@mastergremlin Energy cannot be created nor can it be destroyed. If the universe is an open system, it would invalidate the laws of physics. The big bang is then a result of an infinite universe that is constantly collapsing and expanding ( which is contradicting to the current theory of a finite universe). I never said the earth is a closed system. Solar radiation is how energy enters. The only reason we still follow the evolution theory is because it is the ONLY scientific explanation.
Amritizcool66 1 year ago
@Amritizcool66 What??? You know, let's take it slow. The universe is an open system in that it has energy that is ever changing/transformed into other types of energy. The plants use photosynthesies for example.
In a closed system, second law of thermodynamics, energy does not transform. Because it has no energy taken in from outside the system nor does energy leave the system. It will never change.
How does this go against evolution or even the laws of physics??????????????
mastergremlin 1 year ago
@Amritizcool66 Evolution is wrong because of has gaping flaws ... not explained by science"

2 - Evolution explains all relevant scientifically established facts

Should a family of luddites be able to pull their kid from computer classes and any class where technology is used?
Darkstar1484 1 year ago
@Darkstar1484 people who don't want their students to learn about computers for religious reasons should have every right not too, look at the amish we shouldn't force technology on them. Racism is teribble but people have that rght to be racist as long as it doesn't affect others and the parents have final say over the government . the government having control on what is right and wrong is tyranny and trickles up to war racism etc.
trainman1995 1 year ago
@trainman1995 If a government can't decide what's right and wrong the government can't govern. If anyone can opt out of any class for any reason with no repercussion then there can be no educational system.
Darkstar1484 1 year ago
@Darkstar1484 its not for the government to choose whats right beside dealings with the consttution. its the right of people to decide whats right
trainman1995 1 year ago
@trainman1995 Part of the constitution is providing for the general welfare of the citizens, that means education. Educational standards are necessary because without them we have no means of tracking and studying the effectiveness of the education of the populace which will need to take the reigns in the future.
Darkstar1484 1 year ago
@Darkstar1484 yeah education might be in the constitutuion but not to decide which is right and wrong on a religious matter. that is tyranny

Why the fuck do we have to be educating the people who are supposed to be in charge of education? When you are supposed to be teaching science, you have to, you know, teach science.

@JOHNINCOLUMBUS Texas is an embarrassment to the United States. The next time Texas threatens to secede, I think it would be prudent to let them.

@GodlessAndHappy1 - I agree, but they can't seced until they give back the NASA and put Bush in prison.

Can you blame us for pushing back?
graceoverall 1 year ago
@graceoverall Christian men did fight for freedom and liberty, they also fought for every one to STATE their view. What they are doing is replacing facts when they shouldn't be, Washington got his but kicked yes, god helped him, but so did the french. Jefferson wrote the declaration of independence, and was the 2nd Vice president and 3rd president and doubled the size of our nation. Woe be the day when every state north of texas forgets it was bought for pennies an acre.
goronsam 1 year ago
@graceoverall, "Liberals and evolutionists have been exerting their beliefs and wills on conservatives and Christians for 30+ years." No, we've been teaching kids facts and a bunch of cultists tried to stop us and impose their beliefs (or lack there of) on innocent, easily indoctrinated kids. Would you be happy if scientologists tried to remove, say, the civil war from history books because they believed it never happened? (They don't, it's just an example.)
Houshalter 1 year ago 34
@socrstreets & Grayto: That just goes to show how little you know of Christianity and the truth of the bible. In fact there is a GREAT DEAL of evidence to back up much of the bible (save those few things which cannot be proven). Anyway your hatred does not surprise me because Jesus already told us that the world would hate us because of Him (John 15:18-19). However, we are commanded to exchange hate for goodness (Luke 6:27 & Matthew 5:44). That's the bible I live by.
graceoverall 1 year ago
@graceoverall Really I thought we were talking about our american history which has little to do with the bible, unless you are into the religious sects that came over. Editing our history to impose faith is not very Christian, i thought we pulled crusades for that kind of thing

this will be one of the biggest pushes for modular publishing, as book companies scramble to sell books to non-Texan school districts.
its certainly not outside of the reach of industry. what publisher doesn't use word processors to produce their products?

YOU WANT TO BELIEVE IN YOUR TWISTED LITTLE HISTORY, GO AHEAD. JUST GO SIT IN A CORNER AND CRY WHEN EVERYONE ELSE MAKES FUN OF YOU.
