I beat the game with invisible razor, and fred and sandy look at invisible razor in the ending conversation. Too bad I dont have the capability to convert from vhs yet.
This was done on my nes system, as opposed to an emulator.
@y2k890 You're right, if you leave the generator off the house will blow up after about 5 minutes. Thanks for pointing that out, I guess I just didn't include that for the sake of time.
@y2k890 You can also blow up the house by messing with the secret keypad by the security door. I show that in Part 2 of my MM walkthrough, which is now a video response to this.
@buttdisease You are incorrect. I just tried this and nothing actually happens except GT yells "The Tentacle Mating Call!! AGGGGGGG!!" I just posted a video of it, you should check it out.
@buttdisease LOL. Dude, there is no tentacle rape even slightly implied! You DON'T die and nothing happens except that GT freaks out a little. I posted a video response below - the only reason it looks like anything at all is because GT just happened to run over to exactly where Razor was standing.
@FelixNeptuneLP it's possible that the tentacle only kills you in the PC version, but I'm still not 100% positive. "I remember Maniac Mansion being pretty difficult at the time, but the game even managed to make untimely deaths fun. For example, when you'd stick Weird Ed's hamster in the microwave and then hand him the gruesome...Then there was giving the manic-depressive green tentacle a recording of the tentacle mating call. I'm thankful that the gruesome results were left to my imagination."
@FelixNeptuneLP from another source (in regards to PC version, so I was partially mistaken):
"Copy the "tentacle mating calls" record on the tape, then play the tape in Green Tentacle's room. Green Tentacle will run towards you and attempt intercourse with you (this is implied but not shown), resulting in your death."
@buttdisease Okay, it looks like the death only occurs in the PC version of Maniac Mansion. I show what happens in the NES version in my "Tentacle Rape" video response. I changed the music just for comedy purposes, but the result is just that an excited tentacle runs over to you...no death (in the NES version.) Thanks for the info about the PC version, though.
@FelixNeptuneLP yeah, dude, I thought I killed a kid that way, but maybe someone only told me that happened from their experience playing the pc version, i am going to try to beat the game with an invisible kid so fred is talking to no one during the ending. I'm not entirely sure I can pull it off yet.
The reason why the "tentacle rape" death isn't in the NES is easy to explain: Nintendo censorship.
There's a fantastic story online concerning the porting of this game over to the NES and it seems a lot was omitted and changed when Realtime Associates was doing the port for Jaleco and Lucasfilm Games.

@dezoriajin Hmm. Well, I guess it is possible. I've never played the Japanese version...and I know they took the hamster/microwave thing out of some versions. If you have a copy of the Jap. version (and can read Japanese), you're more than welcome to upload a vid response.
You missed one. If you enter the room with the meteor without the radiation suit you will die.
