It's a shame this says 'and Band'...the legendary Mick Taylor is the other guitarist here. This is from the legendary Bob Dylan ablum 'Infidels', my favorite Bob Dylan album. The guitar work on this album is absolutely gorgeous. I love Knopfler and Taylor...their greatness comes through the instrument with much more subtlety than more in your face guitarists like Slash and SRV. All are great talents...I just prefer Knopfler's subtle style that slowly compels the listener to recognize greatness.

Knopfler's skill with the guitar came so fast and so easily that I think it confuses some people as to his fame. Dire Straits' first hit, Sultans of Swing plus the Money for Nothing (the 1st vid ever on MTV in the UK) put his band into stardom in 1977-8 just one year into playing together. The greats like Dylan & Clapton were drawn to see him play and befriended him early on. He really moved with lightning speed to the top, rightfully so, I'd say!

yes, the keyboard player is Alan Clark. He and Marky played in 'Infidels' album. Mark and other Dire Straits members also played in Slow Train Coming album.
