Yeah ok I think I see what your doing but does that not contradict putting yourself into a see and be seen position!!!, not so important on that particular road but a road where the bends are slightly tighter and blind???
@2wheelsteve--staying to the outside gives you more visual lead, and likewise makes you easier to see. Make sense? On a blind curve, if you stick to the inside you block your vision and visibility.
@CaptCrashIdaho Yeah I know that and thats how I have always rode but your vid confused me in regard to almost looking for a racing line, ok if thats what your saying, ride safe
Crash, How about indepth on apexing, linking curves and crowned roads. Also, some roads, especially in the mountains that are reverse banked, eg, you're doing a right curve on a downward sloping hill, but the road slopes to the left side of the road.
I had a problem with a wicked one like that and my bike went waaaay over to the left and nearly caused a heart attack. Luckily, there was a concrete barrior separating the oncoming lanes at this well-known curve, but to hit a concrete wall... :(
Awesome stuff, Crash. Good to see you're using newbie-friendly turns too!
(cos if I'd have done this, I'd have used something so twisty that CW McCall would have sung about the time they had to drive a truck thru it with no brakes... )
I've noticed, when I ride to work in the morning, I"ll early apex- then in the afternoons I'll be much smoother. DOn't know if it's because I hate going to work, or just early morning motion sickness ( sarcasm ). This is good stuff.
To the burgman rider, welcome, enjoy the ride, newbie ! :)
Most people start riding bikes when they are maybe 10 years old.
Try to imagine a guy 68 years old who has never ridden a bike in his life.! I took the MSF course. I rode around a vacant airport runway for about four hours at maybe top speed of 20 mph.
I bought a 650cc Suzuki scooter that weighs in at 610 pounds.
And I am out there in the parking lots....learning to tighten up my turns. Thanks to you, I am going to do it!
Naa. 10 years old? i don't think so. i know alot of people that started riding when they're in their midlife crisis. 1 they got the money. 2 mommy can't say no.
