Wooten surely acted w/ bad judgement in giving a ten-year-old a taser demonstration, but it's not as bad as they make it out to be by omitting certain facts - he was a taser instructor, and used a training version of the weapon, set to the lowest setting, with the electrodes attached to the boy's shirt, not his bare skin. When I first heard the story, that's not at all what I envisioned. Stupid, yes. Shouldn't have done it, absolutely. But like the moose, it wasn't an issue until the divorce.

Palin was mayor from 1996-2002. in her email to Colonel Grimes (wooten's Supervisor) Aug 2005. she said that she has been getting complaints about him for 4 years. 4 from 2005 is 2001 she was mayor and had a civic duty to do something and she did not. she covered it up. She was running for Gov when she wrote the email. and she has a history of firing people that oppose her.

I Googled what you said to google and all I could find is "Alaska Atty General refused the subpoenas" from a "Committee" of DEMOCRATS "investigating" her. NOT from the Alaska Senate or Legislature. They NEVER sent a Subpoena for Sarah. I couldn't find anything about her supposedly planning to "Plead the 5th".

It might arguably be a poor parenting call from a safety perspective (though if that's the case, Tasers are more dangerous than the public is led to believe), but the tasering was not done to abuse or punish the child.

Walter Monegan (former head of Alaska Public Safety) shared with the local press various emails that he received from Gov. Palin's yahoo email address. From what I read she was offering her opinion on discipline issues in general and never mentioned Mike Wooten's name.

Palin dismissed Monegan because he was soft on discipline. She wanted him to focus on alcohol related crime but he turned down that position.
