  • What is really horrible is that most European Standardbreds end up on someones dinner plate. So even if the Europeans don't use the whip, they are part of the horse slaughter problem if they sit down to a meal of equine.

  • what a stupid sport. you fucking monkeys

  • @sigmondball FU and England, you homo.

Come to the states and I will shove a soccer ball down your ass.

  • this is a stupid sport

  • @cleanfancycircle No, soccer is a stupid sport for English faggot retards.

  • @cleanfancycircle @sigmondball dont troll a sport you know nothing about. go fuck yourself

  • boBBOOO!

  • i meant docs fella

  • Troublemaker and Socs Fella...2 of my fav of all time....glad i could see them again,,ty

  • These jockeys would have been fined, banned and disqualified here in Finland. That whipping is just... Disgusting.

  • The drivers are hittig the saddle pad (with the number on it), not he horse itself.

  • @jreijonen there striking the shaft and saddle pad, if you knew anything about racing youd know that hitting a horse makes them go backwards

  • They only catch a few for whip violation. American drivers have a reputation for bad use of whip. these guys are hitting as hard as they can. its quite obvious in the video, Would not be tolerated in Sweden. And its not hitting sulky or equipment. In Europe where use of whips is minimal, horses perform better. Shortly in australia it will be only permissable to use the whip with hands on reins in a flicking motion. Best thing that ever. Whip abuse has been going too long in this "sport"

  • bud your idiot you obviously know nothing about american harness horse racing so stfu stop trying to be such a burn out and do some research before you start saying stuff.......

  • Most of those drivers were Canadian (LeChance, Whelan for example).....

They have a rule here now that you have a line in each hand at all times.

  • Why are the carts so close ?

  • The sulkies get close simply because they can. Getting to close could cause some issues, but I've seen countless races where they are this close.

  • Racing has come along way...No more inside rails..just cones now... I think the caller passed away not to long ago.....

  • I don´t really know why they put harnesses on the horses like that? It´s not critisim, I just wonder why they aren´t allowed to trott "like normal"?

  • This is normal for them. They are standardbreds. These horses have a different pace which allows them to basically move the front and back leg in tandem. The crazy thing about this pace is how fast it goes, they can trot faster then a cantering, or galloping horse. It doesn't hurt them in the least bit and it's quite a neat sight once you understand it all.

  • CAM FELLA and SAVOIR

  • The drivers must be nuts isnt it a crime to beat those horses that bad i never use that. when im driving my horse i.m.o. if the horse thinks its fun u dont need to

  • they don't "beat" the horses. there are specific regulations on how to use the whip and they strike part of the equipment. violations result in suspensions.

  • it feels like rubbing a ruber band against your skin doesn't hurt at all...

  • your an idiot you dont know anything about the affects of whipping

  • I do since i race horses myself

  • couldn't have said it better myself lol

  • I saw Aruzzi at the now defunct GSP. He got parked the entire mile versus Mack Lobell.

    Who won the race?

    Sugar Cane Hanover 14-1

    My pick

Aruzzi was the best trotter that I ever saw in person.

  • @JR08620 I think you mean Ourasi. Your talking about the international trot where he got parked the entire mile?

  • @abetts00 Yes. Sugarcane Hanover won at GSP.

I can you that he buried Mack Lobell and John Campbell. That nose, Stan Bergstein, interviewed Campbell. Why?

  • JACK E LEE , Great Race caller !

  • O'Brien and Dream Of Glory, last to first in the RR home stretch...they don't make the great ones like that anymore, that's for sure! That Challenge Cup was the greatest RR stretch kick that I ever saw, I've never forgotten it and am so glad to see it here.

I would also like to take this opportunity to wish the very worst of health and all the bad news that life has to offer to Barry Goldstein and any who choose to be close to him - be sick Barry, and be in pain...

  • Just loved this, especially seeing Bobbo, and that "stinker" Ideal Du Gazeau. I think all Bobbo fans disliked Ideal Du Gazeau. Enjoyed your other video of Skip By Night too, we were there the night he retired. I believe it was at Yonkers and they jogged him around the track to a song, I always thought it was "A Pretty Girl Is Like A Memory" but now I doubt they would have played that song...must have been another song. But that night stuck in my memory. Thanks for the videos!

  • I wish there were more details, tracks etc. but this is great fun to watch!

  • fantastic

  • Some history on those clips! Thanks.

  • great concept and video
