Yep, Fang's death was instant, however Hope's death was due to a shot from the dark orb, it wasn't Progenitorial Wrath cause damage numbers showed. I admit though that there wasn't much that Phil could've done to save Hope, except possibly have 3 MED's instead of two. Was mainly bad luck.

Dude i'm like legit enjoying your comments while playing this game and then all of a sudden you start saying that the entire game has been that bullshit when you get killed when you nearly had him... That's just not true at all. If you train more you get more hp and whatever. i went in there with Snow (10149 HP), Vanille (8978 HP) and Hope (7619 HP) and managed to kill his first form in two staggers which took me about five minutes and his second form in less than one stagger.

@niroj28 if he had used his instant kill ability on you it wouldn't have mattered if you had 20000+ lives it's programed to KILL you no matter what. It happened to me an I had more than 12000 lives on Snow

@niroj28 The spell that killed him is a death spell so HP is irrelevent and to be honest it is retarded. Death spells were fine in other FFs since if one of your characters died, no problem, just rez them and play on...but here it's complete pot luck: if he chooses a normal character then it's fine but if he happens to choose you're leader you're screwed and there's not a damn thing you can do about it.

@Skankyeblud I highly recommend 2 or 3 medic for healing because of orphan ultimate attack also if you using vanille as a saboteur let her use her deprotect deshell deimperill and poison but what I highly recommend for the most important debuff is the poison why because it gonna decrease orphan hp quickly which is really useful

@Shankyeblud What worked for me most of the time was that veil spell, but that isn't a guarantee. what got me through the fight in one piece was having one of my side characters be sentinel role all the time and sucking up all the attacks including those instant death things (which are really friggin' unfair!!) But when it all comes down to it the best thing is to go back to gran pulse, train and kick its ass in less than five minutes, dont give it time to do his instant death thing :p

@AJQueen me and phil where using simliar weapons .. lighting is gladis maxed .... hope airwing ... maxed .... and fang second was the spear the intialliy takes the most damage ... maxed out and in there second form .... good luck

another death that could be avoided if you had just pressed triangle to start the healing instead of waiting for ATB to fully charge up. if you expect to win against everything this game throws at you with just auto attack/heal you are dead wrong. but once again you firmly believed that everything's the game's fault not yours.

wow man dsp fought realy diffrently i know i trained more then him but he like trains all in one sitting i soent like 2 hours everyday for 2 week making everyone on my team maxed out on even role and after that it was the easiest finall boss i have ever fought

Is how you win this fight. COM/MED/COM is not good on this fight. Also, controlling Lightning and using her Army Of One ability when you stagger the boss will bring his health down low very quickly. Use Army of One at beginning of a Stagger to bring it to 999 in seconds.

Oh also, MED/SYN/SEN is good for setting up buffs without taking too much damage.

Well, if he obviously planned a little smarter know Hope has the lowest HP means you have to cover him with alot of defense especially since your using him as a leader. You could have equipped him with Imperial Armlet there to up his defense.

This battle would have been over long ago if you had poisoned him... I once watched him go from 100% health down to 50% in like 2 minutes without me landing even a blow... he gets hurt really bad with poison... I estimate he takes about 10000 damage/sec. I usually get a 5 star ranking because of it.
