@saltyhond I wasnt making a comparison as such, merely showing the difference between captive dolphins and orcas and wild ones. To get the message across that none of it is okay. As for Morgans 'caretakers', DH obtained the permit to catch her on the condition she would be released asap, they had no intention of this, she was on show to the public after only 5 weeks, you dont do that to an animal that is to be released back to the wild. Happy to send you links to her court case if you want.
omg, how can you compare Morgans situation to the dolphin slaughter? Morgans care takers where doing everything they could do to let him survive. They where not doing everything they could do to torture and kill him like the dolphin slaughters where and still are doing.
Of course i do agree that the slaughtering is one of the most horrible things that are still happening. I really hate it!
Dr. Ingrid N. Visser summed up the verdict, “Personally, I am devastated that after all these months of fighting the good fight, to find that reason and science lost over money and ulterior motives. It is sad to see that non-profit organizations are bullied and overridden by corporate greed and unjust laws.” - Nov. 21/ 2011
@metridium your right, its about the money, not about what was right for Morgan...dont give up, like they say, it aint over till the 'fat lady sings'...and she aint even warmed up yet!!!!
one of the things that really makes me sick is the doplphin at 1 min 20 seconds....on the video....is still actually thrashing around!!! the dolphins can take up to a freakin hour to die.....why? do not be fooled, this is not a food industry...this is not a scientific research issue.....Morgan, the dolphins....its all about the money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 7th 2011 is the hearing to decide if Morgan can be freed or spend the rest of her life at Loro Parque or anywhere else Sea World decides to send her. There is an excellent release plan for her which will take some time and everything possible will be done to give her the best chance of survival. If she stays in captivity her life will, without a doubt be cut short...that is guaranteed. Please repost this vid, we need the Dutch g'ment to set her free. Thanks.
makes me ashamed to be part of the human race.

@TheFrogster235 Marine parks can no longer justify their captivity under the false premise of
education, conservation and research. Today's society is sophisticated enough to
recognise these facilities as aquatic circuses. Jerye Mooney-WDCS
