  • Jesus said "I am the Resurrection" . I think the little girl narrator missed this point.

  • @karlmahlmann

    there is no piont

  • @karlmahlmann That's just about the dimmest observation that I've read on You Tube !!!

  • Good stuff.

  • cryin with delighted

  • mary is really good at these... i think this one is my favourite

  • when i see theese video's it makes me proud to be irish

  • "I can make people live and die, where's the grave?". Jesus sure was a straightforward guy...

  • Love the color tone!

  • Very cool,Glad I found it!

  • "And dey haf gooorgeous names over dere."

  • This is an Irish accent not Welsh, its a group of children in an inner city school who were recorded in the 1960's and only rediscovered in the last 10 years or so,fantastic movies, these kids know more about religion than most!!

  • hiii everyone;) could i ask a native speaker to transcribe the video here;?)?being a student of english, i lovee the recording but at the same time i have some difficulties decoding welsh accent:(:( i would appreciate your responseee

  • @kokorinka Same here! I understood hardly one third of it :(

  • @kokorinka

    It's a Dublin accent!

  • @kokorinka I've posted one on blogspot called dubdisandat*blogspot*com

  • I think this video is funny in a cute way. It isn't mocking the religion at all, its more showing off how a little kid with a awesome accent would explain bible stories back then. The creator did a great job.

  • im from north dublin and love this! its not talkin the piss,i think its so nice how innocent it is, and i love all the dublin references to bible stories like "cupa tae" and "young one, and young fella" its great!

  • your a weirdo

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, enyrb, or what ever you call yourself. you are part of that "community". Pity your not a positive part.

And it is taking the piss. That's quite obvious.

  • children in pakistan , the city of lahore talk the same way these irish do.... iim surprised we pakistanis have a lot in common more than we have with english...

gosh this kidder is so cute

  • this kidder's voice is so freaking cute

  • "Our Lord and his gang of Aposels."

  • the kiddie voice is cute, but i need some subtitles

  • Are you serious? Is the Irish accent in dublin so hard to understand?

  • This is beautiful.

  • he was cryin deliraaaaaaaa

  • everytime our lord wanted a cup of tea or anything he'd go into there house haha love it

  • I'm not going to let my best friend down just because there's a bit of danger in it!" He the MAN

  • "they have gorgeous names over there"

  • Wow presented very nicely, great animation 5 stars

  • This kid is cute! The Irish accent and phrases make it all-the-more endearing. Great idea with the video. Wish I'd have thought of it. Good job!

  • this is flippin' brilliant! i'm posting it to my youth group, very refreshing!

  • wow you people write alot 0_0

  • And besides, the first few chapters of Genesis is Hebrew poetry. When we read "I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree", do we really expect to find an explaination of the mysteries of botany there, or to understand something more about the beauty of trees and, if we're lucky, the poet himself? God is soverign, mighty, and the source of all there is. He alone is worthy of praise, as His creation testifies.

  • Gentle, Pure, Loving and Humorously Hip! I love the entire 'Give Up Your Aul Sins' Series.

Bravo, and Thank you from someone who has been a long long..LONG, Way, from Catachism.

    Thank You,

    Michael

  • What a darling child! "I'm not going to let my best friend down just because there's a bit of danger in it!"Very cute. One thing that she failed to mention is that the religious leaders of Jesus day were not convinced by this miracle. The response of the Pharasees was to put a hit out on Lazarus. Maybe it's because he didn't go to a blissfull heaven or a firey hell while he was dead and that contradicted their theology.

  • Do you have proof that he doesn't exist? Don't say science has because it can't prove anything just disapprove things? It can't disapprove religious myths and evolution has its faults. Like did the meteor that killed the dinos really mutate the surviving ones into modern birds and mammals? Apes do kill deformed babies and mutated ones, too. Some parts of evolution don't compute using math which is the basic element of science. Many things of evolution have been disapproved.

  • words by people 100's of yea5s ago////big bang theroy.... words from a few years ago and pystical evidentce ///i'll belive once u find hes body and make heal my seziures

  • You assume too much. I'm not a creationist in the strictest sense. I believe in the creation account in the Bible which does not limit a "day" to a literal 24 hours. The 6 creative days are epochs of time that could be 1,000,000's years long. The miracles of Christ give us hope. We have to be patient,God does not want anyone to be destroyed or suffer. The Big Bang discovery actually supports creation. God said,"Let there be light".

  • still... just words i need pysical evidence

  • Science is the attempt to explain our universe through physical evidence. Religion deals with the paranormal. To try and explain spirituality with words is impossible. This little girl has found something that she is very interested in,there's no denying that.

  • because its an cartoon and jesus isn't an nigger either

  • Do you have any physical evidence of that?

  • thats the only thing in the bible i belive

  • INCORRIGIBLE!

  • what?

  • hi guitorb, the big bang discovery as you call it! is bolloxs! the only big bang that had any effect on you! was when your father mounted your mother and you were the fruit of there there big bang ... p.s. no offence... same went for me... and all our atheists friends?

  • haha i like how the lord is black!!! How cool

  • I love this accent. "So they can have a cup or tea" "He wouldn't leave them out" (smile)

  • Excellent - they so funny and quick witted great idea and cartoons magic (love the pope) hope they won awards

  • Ha. Loved it! That's all I've got to say. I enjoyed it. Thanks for the entertainment.

  • macro how much did you read about religions and how much did you think abou religion?

you can read everything about it but its not enough because you must think about it and if u want to understand you must think about it.

do you want to know how much time you must think? its not one day or one year its all life. if you are not thinking then you are stupid...

  • Listen, there's one thing that unites the atheists and all these Christians that post on these videos. One, great unifying truth: Ye all have no sense of humour! Please get a life and enjoy these videos for all the innocence that they display regardless of your beliefs on the matter.

  • agreed. too serious they all be. it's a vid, love it or not, but thats it.

  • It's hardly indoctrination. I've just started college, I was in all boy schools previous to that which were largely Christian orientated - I've basically been educated by Jesuits. I can certainly say that the majority of those in the schools, and who have left, are in fact atheists, myself included.

  • I can't believe I have to explain this to some of you...

Basically, it's a bunch of kids from inner city Dublin (Capital of Ireland) who are just repeating what they're teachers told them, but cause they're young kids, they're paraphrasing.

The cartoon is an attempt to express how the children see the stories from the bible - it's basically an "Aww bless" moment that your gran says to ya when you're a kid and you don't know why.

Its not supposed to be SNL humour or whatever, its family funny

  • Williametched - Well in that case its certainly useful then to demonstrate how young children are initially brainwashed into religion. As I can see from many of the comments, once the indoctrination has taken place its something that stays with the adult for life. Whats that famous quote? 'Show me the child and I'll show you the man'.

  • how is that even funny

  • This is so weird and so cool at the same time.

    Jesus has an afro. XD

  • These are so cute, I teach sunday school and love it when the kids tell a bible story.

  • Will you all dry up and lighten up?

  • I love these....the school from the outside at the end looks just like mine when I was little :D xx

  • Can everyone please stop fighting and swearing? I'm a kid, and i'm trying to enjoy the video, but it's hard with people swearing at each other.

  • wonderful!! such innocence!

  • Jus so everyone knows the main basis of this isn't christianity even though it's still a gud part of it. A teacher recorede her students back in the 60s in Dublin brown bag films used these recordings to make a cartoon out of it. Give up yer aul sins was nominated in 2002 for an oscar. Unless your from Dublin you won't see the cute and funny side to it. Everyone just leave it alone.

  • Don't tell me what the hell to do!

  • before I get any hate comments back I've worked in the adult industry for over 20 years and not a "fanatic". I've seen the aftermath of drugs and a liberal lifestyle and I think we need a little more "old fashioned" values in society. And that's from a guy who spent his life on the "other side". Liberals need to look at the real source of problems in society. It's not Christians.I have far more people who worship humanism and drugs causing me grief than Christians.

  • Thank you for your level-headed comments. The truth is that many Christians have in fact spent their life "on the other side" and abbandoned it. Additionally, many (more) Christians still hop the fence when the grass looks greener on the other side. It's no doubt that things like free sex, drugs, and narcissistic and self-serving belief systems feel really great, no matter what the cost to self or society in the long run.

  • I am not shocked by all the hatred here. People are so hateful towards Christianity, yet the same people glorify drug addicts and self centered people who have done nothing but use others and bring down society. People are silly running down these kids for telling bible stories. If it was about Martin Luther King or the death of Tupac or kids running down Bush I guess it is "acceptable" to liberals.

  • "and dey were delighre and dey were all cryin with delighre" Dont you just love the way the chislers talk.

  • Ignore him Chicken, hes a moron. And Roadwarrior, get bent. Where do you get off bashing Yanks here? It's sickening really.

These videos are great and I hope you keep up the good work!

  • Why is there so many hateful comments on this vid? It's just a bit of fun! And what's wrong with kids believing in God? Really, TheConfused99 is serioulsy confused!

  • As a teacher, it is absolutely wonderful to hear these children tell these stories from memory and be excited about doing it. Education has really taken a plunge I'm afraid to say. I really wish parents would support the teachers more so when the children learn something like this they can bring it home and share it with their family and their family will receptive to hearing it.

  • Haha, how cute. :D

  • why cant everyone have common knowledge and sense,,,, to realise des are comic pieces... TAKING THE PISS!! der brill..the irish understand these.. every1 else, yeyre just gettin confused by watching des...

  • I like how Jesus looks like Phil Lynott in the animation. Darker skin, afro looking hair, Irish...crazy...

  • So not one comment on the quality of animation, or the juxtaposition of happy innocent children with the brown, very depressing backgrounds; instead only presumed adults swearing and cussing at each other over brainwashing and indoctrination. This speaks volumes on our current state of education, and possibly at exactly who has been indoctrinated. These animations are very well done and deserve better than all of your junior high school comments.

  • I commented on the animation the day before. Good point, though. :)

Done by some pros at Brown Bag.

I've been at it for about ten years myself. It's been quite a ride.

  • I dig the designs & animation. It's my line of work when times are good-

  • So cute!!

  • Rofl @ TheConfused99.

    TheConfused indeed.

  • i love how she mentions having a cup of tea at 1:20.

and why is there so much hate on here. does it matter they are bible stories? they are just funny to listen to the way they are told.

  • are you people kidding me? this isn't a video to discuss youre religious views at. This is just a fun little film. Rediculous...

  • "Confused" seems to be a very apt avatar. I feel sorry for you.

  • Aw c'mon this was 40 years ago, stop despairing about kids learning about religion. If it makes you feel better there isn't much of it nowadays and kids these days won't speak in such acceptable grammer nor as fluently as the ones in this short clip.

  • Why would some of you be so threatened by children telling stories? Is it because they are religious stories? Would you comments be the same if they were telling stories on how to reprogram your ipod or how to win at Halo?

They are eloquent and moral and the kids in this series obviously enjoy the task of retelling them.

  • You see this is what happens when you get your views about religion from a biologist who has had hallucinations about angels. You trot out the ill-informed tripe of Dawkins and Hitchens and then laughably talk about indoctrination!

  • ballyboneman - The only ill-informed tripe I saw was your comment on 2 people who have spent a lifetime doing research in their fields on the subject. They frequently win public debates against the best So yeah, I guess your comment is laughable.

  • Neither Dawkins nor Hitchens have spent a lifetime doing research on religion. Dawkins is a great populariser of science and biology in particular but as far as religous understanding, quite frankly he is an embarassing joke. "Dawkins is brazen in his ignorance of philosophy and theology (not to mention the history of science). [. . .] This is a man truly out of his depth." Atheist Philosopher Michael Ruse

  • ballyboneman - Out of his depth? I don't think so. These guys never back away from a debate challenge and I love watching them slay so called religious authorities every time. Especially Hitchens and he isn't even a scientist. Once you've read about the 25 years of research undertaken on the new testament by Bart D. Ehrman (ex-evengelist pastor and now agnostic) you'd realise that your faith which based on 1 book is flawed from the outset.

  • "Out of his depth? I don't think so" No disrespect intended but unless you happen to be an historian, theologian or philosopher of science what you 'think' carries less weight than the experts in the fields who have exposed Dawkins' and Hitchens'ignorance and errors. As an example here are some of the howlers from Hitchens' ludicrous polemic....cont

  • cont..The Gnostic gospels are not of the same period and provenance as the canonical Gospels, but were written several decades later; the synoptic Gospels are not synonymous with the canonical Gospels; Q is an assumed source for the Gospels of Luke and Matthew, but not Mark and John; the Vulgate was what the Reformers were trying to get away from, not what they were attempting to translate the Bible into etc. etc

  • ballyboneman, Very good, I'm glad I've finally met a Christian who has at least looked at the history of early Christianity. I am still curious though. Knowing what you know and knowing how old the canonical Gospels are, plus how many of these stories are very similar to Hinduism including other older religions. How can you possibly believe that these stories are correct about Jesus and haven't been embellished? There is no way of knowing for sure. Thats why there will always be doubt and debate

  • Well that's a whole other thread much too involved for a discussion here but basically it depends how you view religion to begin with. If you regard it as made up fancifull BS then you will find the evidence to support that. If you regard religion as a human search for meaning and purpose and an everpresent impetus to find a relationship with the divine then you will find evidence for that also. Seek not to understand that you may believe, but believe that you may understand. St Augstines

  • These are great. Well done, interesting, and they send a great message. I wish all children understood and could explain with such great articulation these stories from the Bible. Judging from many of the responses given below I'd say we're falling short with this current generation.

  • how does it encourage any of those things?

  • if you lie to children and say things lie the bible is the word of god, the it indirectly asserts bullshit in the bible as truth.. such as the human sacrifice and scapegoat of christ or that people come back from the dead by magic. by giving credence to an out dated bronze age book of fear you only help continue its sexist and racist views. the bible is a pack of hateful fairy tales and lies.. these kids were lied to no matter how cute u think it is

  • woah, chill. i was just asking.

    and stop saying "you."

i didnt say i was catholic or christian or whatever the fuck and i didnt say i thought this was cute. so stop attacking me.

  • lololol

  • sorry cud u jus point out wer in d bible it condones sellin women int slavery and says dat theyr unclean?

  • sure thing just read leviticus and if you need to get rid of your daughter just go to Ex 21:7-10

and slavery is all over the place in the bible. the jealous hateful god of the bible loves the slaves.

  • why is he jelous?

    why is he hateful?

    why wud he love slaves?

he got moses to set all thoe slaves free!!!!

  • @mazza

fuck if i know, he isnt my imaginary friend. but he seems to love killing the unborn, slavery and bullshit superstitions.

  • You seem like an angry person TheConfused99. I was once a slave just like you. We were are slaves at one point, and many still are. You are a slave to that which controls you. But there is one who can free you. If you know the Bible you probably know who I'm talking about. You choose to turn your back on him and then you blame him for everything wrong in your life.

  • The Bible doesn't teach flat earth, curing leprosy with dead rabbits, magic wands,or that women shouldn't teach. It addresses issues of little more than 100 years ago in the USA such as slavery. But it also shows how you can free your mind from fear and corruption no matter what your social status is. You simply cannot blame the Bible for all of mankind's woes. 66 books written by about 40 men, over a period of about 1'600 years with one common theme is nothing to be taken lightly.

  • Good point, guitorb, but I think you might have said more. The Bible is in no way interested in giving a scientific explaination for creation. It's only purpose was, and is, to explain that God is behind it all, that God willed, spoke, and brought it all into being, and that He loves us. Science is our quest to find out the whats and hows. The Bible shows us the Who and the why. And our understanding grows with time, and God is still sustaining us all, whatever the doubters say. God bless.

  • There are a great many doubters eh? If I had to guess why someone would dissmiss the clearly defined guidelines of The Bible as myth,I might venture to guess that it is because understanding implies acountability. I might also add that where the Bible does touch on scientific matters it is always accurate. Isaiah 40:22 describes the earth as a sphere in the original language. That's pretty amazing for something that was written around 730B.C.

  • Science brings us logic truths . Religion brings us deep Truths about the wonders of life. Look, all I'm saying is that neither Science nor Religion is wrong, and that you should choose yourself which Truth to accept.

Religion sadly enough gives us conflict, while it should bring us closer to one another... That's sad, I think..

  • But why must one choose between the two in the first place? Truth is, by it's very nature, exclusive unto itself, and cannot be personalized to "my truth" and "your truth". That's more like a worldview, or a paradigm, than actual "truth". God is so big, that we need to see Three in the Oneness to even get a small understanding of Who He is. Creation is but one way that we come to know Him. The intricate structure of the atom to the vastness of space declares His glory. He is beyond limitations.

  • You have to choose, because certain items are contradictorious. Why do you think that there is so much conflict between the two branches?

Second of all, Truth cannot be generalized. We view the world through different eyes and bodies, and every vision is right! That's what religion is ALL ABOUT: believing your life, filled with individual truths. I don't exclude or include the existence of God, because I haven't met him close enough to carry out an opinion. Cool that a debate can start on youtu

  • I think we are really arguing semantics. When I use "truth", I am doing so with the understanding of how Jesus referred to Himself as "The Truth", as in "I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life." To say that there are many truths is, to my way of thinking, to say that there is nothing that is that fixed center, that immovable certainty, on which all people need to hing everything else. We all have such things, whether or not we acknowledge it in our philosophies.

  • It could be as lofty an assumption as that humanity is, at it's most basic level, good (the Anne Frank belief, something that becomes harder and harder to accept the older one gets), or it might be as pedantic as "get all you can get while the getting's good". I'd hardly call either of these truths, even in the most elastic translation of the word. And, of course, what I meant to type in my previous note was "hinge", not hing, although that sounds kinda interesting, too.

  • But whatever happens, I wish you well on your quest for "The Truth". I give you credit for your open mind and your willingness to listen to another's viewpoint, something which, no matter the topic, is a rare thing in this venue. I look forward to hearing your response.

  • But my friend, there IS a fixed center :) By Truth I meant the path of wisdom an individual must follow to reach that fixed center. To reach that sacred and fiery core of our soul, is what Jesus did. The Way there is an individual task, and everyone has his individual ways. Jesus, however, reached to us his Way of Love, which is a strong Path. Other Paths are equally good, as long as it enbodies the full length of your soul. I'm feeling stressed for the moment, so a short answer is all for today

  • Long enough for me...

  • Contradictorious? The greatest scientists of our world; Einstein, Lister, Salk, have been solid Christians.

  • Don't know about Lister and Salk, but Einstein stated several times that he did not believe in a personal god.

  • Don't know about Lister and Salk, but Einstein stated several times that he did not believe in a personal god. There are great scientists who do, but Einstein isn't one of them.

  • Dude! Einstein was Jewish.

  • "Dey have GORGEOUS names over dere" Classic.

  • u are confused my friend, the most aazing thing about these recordings is that the story telling of the children, its not about the religion, its about the innocence of 7&8 year olds from the north inner city of Dublin, maybe you have to be a Dub to understand it,children now a days could never story tell like this,to many machines entertaining them, keeping them silent,I for one love these recordings, cos they are real, and remind me of old great Dublin city center,

  • "story telling of the children, its not about the religion" they are telling religious stories;hello

"children now a days could never story tell like this,to many machines entertaining them, keeping them silent"

i suppose the irony of that statement is prob lost on you. you say that with such conviction as you type out your statement on one of the greatest inventions of all humankind, the very thing that for the first time in history has allowed anyone from just about anywhere to tell their story

  • how are they brainwashed? its their religon Mcdonalds brain washes kids into eatting fatty foods these stories teach kids good morals

  • its not their religion, its their parents religion.

  • Totally agree.

  • certanly are confused arnt ya

  • @ roadwarrior

wow never heard hat before, the only thing even remotely funny about that is you have mel "fucking monkey shit crazy loon" gibson as your avatar.

    so who again is confused?

  • what's that have to do with anything ya fukin ejit ya

  • @ o1roadwarrior about as much as your needlessly inserted comment fucktard

  • and what was the comment concerning? brainwashing children? get a fukin grip will ya

  • "and what was the comment concerning? brainwashing children? get a fukin grip will ya"

do you have a better word for the indoctrination of a set of religious beliefs in which questioning of the beliefs is a way to label oneself as a outsider and hence a potential target.

  • what in the name of fuck is up your hole.

youv completley missed the point of these videos.

and besides the bible is just a book of storys, were not americans here, we dont take everything we hear literaly.

  • ... school?

  • Well confused,i get your point, but I am talking about video games, not the internet, god you are like a raging bull on this chanel,if it annoys you so much, dont watch, dont comment, enjoy it for what it is,its about the innocence of the kids, but thanks for your reply,

  • @ xxabb

and may the love of your dead jewish zombie go with you too; and remember, dont waste all your stones on me, there are homosexuals to kill still.

  • lol

suck it up man.art of the sponge!!

  • My god...its hypontysing...(see I'm even picking up on the bad spell aspect jk)

  • why isn't jesus jewish?

  • thanks for posting all of these videos

  • I like this... it's cool, and qute :)
