@Bapethatboombox No man it said middle finger to the lord.. i saw on one lyric website it said LAW then i checked on like 3 other websites it said LORD
@SBIMEZM86 Okay but in some other sites it says middle finger to the law aswell so one of them has to be right and its obviously middle finger to the lord because i no what kind of industry he is in.. but your telling me that Jay-z isnt in the illuminati??
One, why a new world organization that controls buisnesses would be interested in Satanic bullshit is beyond me, but I'm sure you'd insist on it no matter what I say.
Two - no, Jay is not in the Illuminati. Or, if he is, he's never said so publically on any of his songs.
Anyway, he's talking about hustling and moving drugs right before the line. It's clearly meant to be LAW. Use your brain.
@SBIMEZM86 And obviously u need to use ur brain because why in the world will he say it publically in his songs??? Hes not aloud to do that man open your damn eyes.. dont be a moron like everyone else is... illuminati just wishes to have more blind ppl as yourself in this world
@xXxKiIluminatixXx Open my eyes? To things which apparently I have to read into? How about you take your advice and stop weaving elaborate tales. Grow up, man.
@SBIMEZM86 These arent tales man.. its the truth.. things sometimes could be so true that its almost impossible to believe in it.. do u even take a look into music videos and what the artists say.. for example u favorited one of jayz vids.. that includes the lyrics "ILLUMINATI WANT MY MIND SOUL AND MY BODY"... wtf is that about.. u like that song but dont realize what hes saying?? the song is even called Devils for gods sake ur epic man
@xXxKiIluminatixXx Yes, I do actually look at the lyrics. That's how I don't pull rediculous consciracy theories out of them.
First off - the line is taken from Prodigy. Why people never go after him as they do after Jay is beyond me.
Further, if we're going after actually looking at what the song says, the very next line is "Dear, God, I wonder could you save me?" Doesn't really sound like he's desiring this, does it?
@xXxKiIluminatixXx And, yes, the song is called D'Evils - the Evils of hustling. Which can turn into metaphorical devils in a man's life. Look past the obsession with the conspiracy for a second and recognize the artistic genius in using this common phrase subtlely in the song.
Every jumps on that line in the hook - but the rest of the damn song has nothing to do with the Illuminati.
@xXxKiIluminatixXx It's about the evils of hustling and the sins that come with that. If you actually bother to appreciate the artistic beauty of the song (someday) for what it's actually about, you'll find it to be incredible.
@SBIMEZM86 Lol wooooooooooow thats exactly what they want you to think man.. "oooh its about hustling and my pain".. that motherfucker never hustled a day in his life he's just a satan worshipper who needs the illuminati to get his gay music supported by blind fans as yourself
@xXxKiIluminatixXx Okay...now could you provide proof of this accusation? Because I seem to have evidence. A whole song's worth.
It's one - ONE - line in a song. Compared to the large rest of the song's content dealing with hustling, I'm hard pressed to believe that this one line proves anything. Burdon of proof's on you.
@SBIMEZM86 It's not one damn line man are you kidding me.. the signs and symbolism is all over the world.. movies, shows, TV, clothing.. its EVERYWHERE
jay z and nas are the best rappers living. eminem would be in there if it was for the encore/relapse bullshit. he has 2 classic albums, maybe 3, but jay has like 5 and nas has 4 or 5 classics under his belt too, including the greatest album of the 90's, illmatic. end of story!
I almost completely agree with you. Eminem's last two albums were definitely not good Eminem. Aside from that, Eminem is still the greatest rapper ever to me. No one can string together so many polysyllabic rhymes together that make sense like he does.
@paintmask you are comparing jay z to someone that came before him? that isnt fair, everyone takes the best from those who came before him and makes it his own. i am in no way a jay z fan, my favorite band is the beatles, but its unfair to compare a new rock band to the beatles....
def jay is better than too short, and cube was only on top wit nwa, amerikkaz then by death certificate he was losin it, he was still on top cuz at a time, cube was on top, but he was fadin out. jay was pretty good on reasonable, got a bit shittier, got better, got better and got better, then black album was okay, same for kingdom come, but american gangster was really fuckin great, under the radar shit
and the proof is in the pudding because even in what you'd consider his "hits" you still hear the drug, gun and street shit. Maintaining that level of success in hip hop of all genres for that long rapping solely about yourself and your life is damn hard to do in this industry, let along still make good RAP records at 40. Hardly selling out to me. Can't name one other MC in history (or musician period) to go on a 14+ year run talking about themselves ONLY. Not even the greats.
....as long as in his heart he feels that's what he wanted to make, as Kanye did with 808s and Heartbreaks. At the end of the day people make what they feel and its our choice to love it or hate it but you gotta give cats their respect as long as they stay TRUE to themselves. Since the start Jay's maintained both mainstream success AND the respect of the street rapping about himself and his life,
You couldn't be more right about that whole post. But one has to ask themselves what "selling out" is. I think it's applied too many times where it shouldn't be. To me, "selling out" means trading in who you really are or the music you really want to make, in order to follow what you think will make you the most money. I don't think that applies to Jay-Z because all money removed, he LOVES making music and he's already shown he'll ride with what we feel are his musical failures....
sounds like someone saw the "jay-'z a biter" youtube video or something.
If you know anything about rap you'll see that damn near EVERY artist, from the underground to the mainstream, has been doing for over a decade what jay does. It's a way of rappers giving props to each other and all MC's acknowledge this. To quell the nonsense you speak of is a big reason XXL created the "Borrower/Lender" segment in their magazine.
something is REALLY wrong with your brain to make a statement like that. People are still trying to get shit he said 14 years ago and you........nevermind. I can already see this is moot.
Like Eddie Murphy said back in the 80's people only judge you by what they understand. And at least 80% of what he says, goes over most people's heads.....and FYI when Big heard Jay's 3rd verse to Dead Presidents....he crowned Jay-Z as being better than himself.

Just because you're using part of the greatest music in recent music history (The Beatles) does not mean a mash-up with something else (especially rap) will automatically be good. Boo.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The Beatles were the pioneers of all music that came after them. They revolutionized music as we know it. Without them, music would be completely different today. Has Jay-z revolutionized music? No. He follows a simple formula for writing 'songs' much like every other rapper.
Jay-z may have not "Revolutionized" the music scene as much as the Beatles, But He Definitely left his mark. Jay-z is arguably one of the most successful MCs EVER. Jay absolutely changed the Hip Hop game. His unique style and flow are superior over a lot of mainstream rappers today. He built his own empire outta his career, including a successful Clothing Line, his own Bars across the world, TV Appearances, Books ETC.
As to his music, he has his own style. And has collaborated with everyone from Linkin Park to Pharrell to Coldplay and so on. If it wasn't for him Kanye West probably would've never blown up as much as he did. He is as pioneer and one of the top cats in the rap game. He has been in the game since 1989 and can still turn out a bangin album. He has a wide variety of fans. Jay recently has surpassed Elvis on "Most #1 Albums by a solo artist" That's gotta be say something
If he is still one of the top album sellers 20 years from now, then he can truly claim best rapper ever. The Beatles are still the best ever in terms of music. I'll even bet that the Beatles will still be selling more albums than Jay-Z 20 yrs from now
