But for a real treat try fliying American Airlines ! I was stuck in Forth Worth for 8HOURS! and they gave me the full "refigee treatment" :no food no water, and pitiful facilities. No smiles there whatsoever! And by far it was the most expensive ticket! Why did I fly them? Nothing....absolutely nothing else was aviable. I really hope they fail in their bid for Japan Airlines.
Lately they hired a lot of 20 years old crew and they don't know what they doing.Professionalism??They have a long way to go to reach the professionalism of airlines like BA ,LH , AA etc etc. They are just a sad joke.On the other hand you have to understand that they treat their own employees like hell so in the end they just take revenge on any pax.
Some airline crew from the middle East keep sending me messages saying how professional the Etihad staff were!! If you enjoy being lied to repeatedly, given totally duff information about an imminent departure, upgrades and the like, and to arrive over 24 hours late with zero compensation, one proper meal, a lost hotel reservation and transportation bookings then all the added grief of a 40 odd hour journey from London including delay, then be my guest.
I thought they only treat their staff like hell (me being an ex-employee).It;s the first time i`m actually reading complaints about them online. While i was working with them i had to face many times pax frustrated by issues they had with groundstaff , ticketing etc etc but after a while i started thinking is just the way some pax like to complain. Now i know for sure that Etihad lacks everything, except their planes , the rest is just rubbish.I'm not even proud that once i used to work for them.
. Especially when the airport at Abu Dhabi was still open and flights were landing and taking off with only minor delays... how do I know ? I had friends getting off at Abu Dhabi on the same flight
as me who were in mobile phone contact with relatives waiting at the airport to collect them. They had zero information from Etihad staff at the airport... if you think this is professional I think you better change professions quick...
Etihad is based in Abu Dhabi so you would expect them to know the weather this time of year and to carry sufficient fuel to get to Abu Dhabi- our pilot diverted because they didn't have enough fuel to allow for any delays and so we didnt go to Abu Dhabi- We would have landed in Abu Dhabi ok in the first place if Etihad allowed enough fuel for the journey! so we wouldnt have been delayed 24 hours in the first place
Well Etihad could have provided hotel accommodation as they are suppossed to do according to the civil airline regulations, aswell as refreshments. They could have not kept everyone on the aircraft for hours before deciding what to do. They could have honoured their existing contracts with travel agencies aswell as existing members of the public to travel on a specific flight on a specific day, for example.
There are many answers please read the description on the right for each video, underneath the links given. If we werent all lied to consistantly and treated like animals then Etihad may have deserved more favourable reviews. The annoying thing is they do this frequently and many people have been effected, its time the public knew how they operate...
I just relaly can not see which contract Etihad broke.... I completely fail to see how Etihad should have done differently. Afterall safety comes first. And I am sure all other passengers appreciate the airline not taking unsafe risks
In my experience Etihad not only promotes a product different to that received, but you do not get what you have paid for , or think you have booked, either ... you have been warned
In my experience Etihad breaches contracts aswell as promises.
Sounds like another Etihad employee posting! Thanks for your comments, but the whole point of my arguement is the flight should not have been diverted. It would not have been diverted if we had enough fuel to reach Abu Dhabi in the first place. Most flights landed and took off that day with only a relatively short delay.
I agree nobody can help the weather but if you listen to the comments from the pilot on video number 12 you will hear that he admits they could land in virtually zero visibility using autopilot!! most other airlines did this, Etihad didn't because they didn't put enough fuel in the plane to get to Abu Dhabi!!! That's why this scenario is so appalling.
If Etihad cannot cope with fog when the airport remains open and other flights can, it means the staff are totally inexperienced and cannot deal with problems- thats why I will never fly Etihad airways again.
I understand the frustration but what passengers need to understand is that the flights were diverted to Al Ain due to fog. There is nothing anyone could have done to improve weather conditions. I can agree that the situation could have been handled better. It is very unpleasant to be delayed and it's also not nice to have to tell passengers about the situation. Crew don't always have answers or solutions and also depend on what they hear from Operations managers.
this happend me with emirates. no info etc.
but when we came in dubai. Our plane waited for 20 people including us.
Everything ther was handeld quickly fast and profesional. And the flights after the first
flight were very good. Great entertaiment and food. EMIRATES!!
