being a man means knowing who did 9/11. and realizing Bush neocons did 9/11. and that Bush was a fake Christian. real man means the real enemy are American corporations and government, not Muslims.
christ set an example. the flaws of men in the christian faith has often been leaving their spirituality and focussing on religion. their is a huge difference betweeen spirituality and religion. christ said walk with me and do as i do. Is that possible...the answer is yes and christ talked about the seven chakras...the possibilities of our bodies(in the likeness of god) and the possibilities of our universe have to be further pursued by our people.
Conail23 i just wanted to let you know that Jesus did have long hair because he was a nazirite. In order to be a nazirite you had to have three vows: never cut your hair, dont touch dead people and dont drink strong drink. He was also a galilean and if you do some research, youll find that Galilean men had long hair and beards. That was the accepted culture back in that time.
I agree that Jesus wasn't a wimp... I think plenty of artists have tried to show at least one aspect of Jesus... but truly Jesus can't be captured on canvas well.
Probaby a more accurate depiction from my POV is Gibson's passion, where Christ's true human-ness was evident... full man, fully God, but often we neglect what "fully man" really looked like.
I'm pretty sure the length of anyone's hair is a moot point, tho.
For the same reason it's not important to bleed our meat, and for women to wear head coverings, and God no longer tells us to conquer and kill every living thing, men, women children, old and young.
Jesus came not to abolish the law, but to fulfill it. You no longer have to fulfill it. Unless, like the apostle Paul says, you WANT to try to obey the ENTIRE law.
The Law was primarily there to remind us it is IMPOSSIBLE to meet.
the hair thing is found in the New Testament. it is not part of the ceremonial law. and if u read the epistles of Paul you'll see he explains that grace is not a license to sin and do whatever you want, u should still try to do what God wants you to
Yeah, I can see how if you read what Paul is saying in a very literal sense and with no context, you could believe it is a sin to have long hair. If you believe this, it's probably best you keep short hair.
it is interestign that ppl just throw out the word context when they dont wanna believe somethign in Scripture, if i took it out of context, explain how?
Paul is writing a letter to the Corinthians, in which Paul talks about the cultural norms in Corinth then. Read the entire chapter. Do any women you KNOW wear a ceremonial head covering? If one were to try to take the comment in 1 Corinthians 11 literally, it would ALSO preclude men wearing hats, as Paul ALSO says men aught not cover their heads.
Paul was speaking into a larger issue at Corinth... your focus on this misses the point of the Gospel.
Paul says all things are lawful unto me but not all things are expedient. Well I dont wanna get into a prolonged arument about it but if u have anything else that might be helpful 4 me to look at go for it : )
Its not really for me to arugue with you, and it wasn't my intention here. Often the Holy Spirit reveals what God has for us through scripture, but don't trust your interpretation (or mine)... ask God what it means in your life. You might find God has more for you in the process of discerning than in the answer, as I have found.
I can think of many instances when a man having long hair would be counter-productive and even divisive. Interestingly, the converse is also true.

why would the length of hair not be important if the Bible specifically says that its a shame for a man to have long hair?

SO, cut your hair short if it turns your crank.
