  • WOW!

  • Full grown scats need saltwater to thrive. But I salute you for truly taking into consideration the needs of fish like these. Active, large, and with hearty, appetites, they also need lotsa oxygen. Hats off to a job well done

  • 2000 gallons - yeah - ill buy a river next week - just try and make sure you have a good length tank - min 48" and if you can go a bit more great

  • hey i have four tinfoils in a 100gal would this be ok to house them fully grown i hear they can grow to 40cm! but usually less in the home aquarium. just wondering if i would have to upgrade?

  • i agree with you that they need more space and grows pretty big for barbs and are fast swimmers but a 2,000 gallon is just not really needed...for all of those barbs they can simply live in a 300 gallon if not bigger but they do love the open swimming space if given! =]

  • Are you out of your mind? Who would use up a tank like that on only a school of fish?

  • wow this tank is beautiful. I just recently got some tinfoil barbs and they're my favorite fish. When its feeding time, they seriously look like little fricken pirahnas haha. I know you said the tank was 567 litres, but how many gallons is that?

  • Great looking tank and fish!!!!! Wow!! If I may ask, what size if your tank?

  • see previous comment

  • @empiredboy7 nice tank and fish please check and rate my video

  • Wow.. such an amazing aquarium. How did u do it? I want a tank that looks just like it. And by the way, what size is your gallon?

  • The complete background was built out of styrofoam and poly urethane foam, cut to form and finished with 3 layers of epoxy resin mixed with pigments. Each layer of epoxy is also covered in sand to create the natural appearance. The complete process took me 15 months.

    The tank is a 160 x 60 x 60 cm, 576 liter tank.

  • what kind of fish is the little skinny one nipping barbs?

    SCATS

  • the "little skinny one" is an 8", 11 year old flying fox (epalzeorhynchus kallopterus).

It has been in the tank from the beginning and keeps the school of tinfoils together.

It looks agressive, but that's just show ...

  • wow, amazing setup, they look so happy and active

  • any special fish food to maintain colour of the fin of barbs? my petshop people says feed them boiled egg white part and a little yellow york

  • I feed them almost anything: lettuce, peas, flakes, vegetable flakes, but mysis are especially good to maintain the red color.

They'll eat anything you give them that is small enough to fit in their mouths.

  • what kind of fish is the little skinny one nipping barbs?

  • here in india a pare of 8 inches cost 75 rupees indian money. i mean less than two dollars .lol

  • not at all; just very active, which migh scare little fish.

    But certainly not aggressive.

  • Are the tinfoils an aggresive type of fish??????

  • the scat has moved to the zoo by now and is living in a salt water tank. The substrate is a mixture of sand, gravel and pebbles.

  • Thats a real cool looking biotope tank, is there any salt in there or is that scat acclimatized to fresh water, also, what substrate did you use it looks really natural

  • how much you buy those tinfoil barbs for? i bought mine 1 that size for $25. was it worth it??

  • hmm, $25 seems like alot for a tinfoil, even that big.

I paid $5 each when they were 2".

  • Wow !!! Thats possibly the best natural tanks i've ever seen. And the combination of fishes, thats perfect! no doubt about it.Schooling TF barbs, spanners, along with the scat full of charccter(gr8 colors) and a shark like catfish(I dont know the name) hovering around with demeanor have got a lot of character, like heros among the groups. Where did u get the gr8 idea from? How much of salt did u add to that setup?

  • Hi

wow this tankis a dream :)

Now I have an pattern how to decorate my tank.

    Greets Hubi

  • Great Setup!!! Tinfoils are my Fav! What do you feed them? Did you get them all at 8inches or smaller?

Also I thought I saw some Harlequin Rasboras? how big are they?

  • I got the tinfoils at 2", some 5 years ago.

I feed them (vegetable) flakes, peas, lettuce, mysis, mosquito larvae and all other fresh waer live food that I can get my hands on. They'll eat almost anything.

The other fish you saw, are spanner barbs, definitely not harlequin rasboras. All fish in the tank are 8" or bigger, harlequins will never reacht that size ...

  • thats an awesome tank! how big is it and wat size are those tinfoils?

  • the tank is a 152 US gal, 160 x 60 x 60 cm tank.

The tinfoils are app. 20 cm long (8").
