She was very wrong and it wasn't her place to say anything about kids being out what ever the time. There isn't an age limit at Denny's but she should have respected the fact that there were children present. @aubrey1015 Um... no... Instead of attacking someone for what they say, you should question them for why they say it. Granny does ask Renee why she said it, but won't even let her explain herself. "Respect oneself, Respect others" - Yes, that's a very true statement, and I commend you for it but Granny should've respected herself as well. It's highly un-ladylike to behave (scream, curse, and threaten) the way she did. Also, she doesn't even know who to accuse when she fights with the white men.

There is a thing of respect although granny didn't handle the situation correctly she is still older. We were all taught to respect our elders no matter if they are wrong or right. However, a woman who is trying to protect her grandkids from being disrespected ended up making a fool of herself. If someone were to walk down the street, see two people arguing, they would immediately say,"Look at these two fools arguing." In an argument; state why you're upset, question, listen to the other, then agree/disagree... Don't attack!
