  • why do all violinists turn into friggen robots when they start playing? in the works of Jack Black "loosey goosey baby, loosey goosey"

  • @gogetenks001 because of how you have to hold the instrument -_- holding a violin loose fucks with how the notes sound

  • If they were hideous, I assure you, they would not of advanced. It's unfortunate that we live in a society where you're judged by beauty instead of who you truly are... Oh well. Sorry ugly people.

  • @Charles87sf these women aren't stunners. They're just old enough to know how to make the best of themselves and they are talented. How often to you hear electric violins-this was a new experience for most people.

  • wow, supriseing, Simon saying yes. XD

  • Take a bunch of girls, dress them up, give them a very easy song to play, have them dance about a bit, what do you get ?

    yeah you guessed it.............shit

  • Finally good looking girls that acutally SO something other than looking good.

  • waggie lipsync, take a look

  • wagner sings a cappelle, take a look

  • moooooore

  • Just a cheap and not really good copy of BOND. Now those ladies really know what they're doing. This is just... meh

  • Seriously considering moving to britain just to see the show. Personally I think it's better than Americas got talent :0

  • omg beautiful!!! :)) <3

  • mediocre

  • 2:06 "really really good" lmaoo

  • They are real good if they composed the music themselves. Otherwise they are just ok, I mean, Ive heard street musicians who are better. But they are desent.

  • awesome:D

  • ridiculous the comments of the judges, but why should i be surprised one of them doesn't even know what they are holding,so how the fuck can they judge anything.

p.s-change the cellist she is ugly, bad for your biz

  • WOW¡

  • Any & Dec make me lauigh but 2.08 is soo funny after listening to simons comment

  • The one with long blonde hair could play my instrument anyday!!!!

  • A DIAMOND IS FOREVER...DE BEERS!

  • At 1:12, the speed and syncing of their playing sounds off. Is it just me?

  • love it !! nice song btw.. !!

  • real musicians don't rely on hair-flicking and big boobies to impress their audience. If anyone thinks that these girls represent the peak of British talent then they DON'T HAVE A CLUE!!

  • @lb88ful

    its television, friend

  • @Skelros of course you're right. It just bugs me that all the trully talented musicians are not given an audience with the general public. How is classical music ever going to shrug off its supposedly elitist reputation if people feel they have to compromise the music to become 'accessible' :(

  • @lb88ful "Real musicians"? Sounds like someone is jealous...

  • @mar504 Are you kidding? I would never pretend to be a better player than I am, but I work hard and give music the respect it deserves. I would rather be a mediocre player than prostitute my talent in this way.

  • @lb88ful You must hate musicals. Prostituting talent... sell your talent for money, isn't that what all professional musicians do? Some have more than just music to sell, some dance, interact with the audience, and just put on a good show. They all do this in different ways, none "respect" music any more than the next, and being purely about the sound of music doesn't mean you are a better person than anyone else... it does, however, make you appear to be elitist.

  • @mar504 not at all, while they're not usually my kind of thing, I admire and respect musicals as a medium because it's true to its nature. And of course music, being such a diverse art, is totally compatible with others like dance. These girls however, (all out of music college (which is actually quite surprising given this performance :S )) as well as performers like Katherine Jenkins, Hayley Westenra, Alphie Boe etc and composers like Karl Jenkins aren't making classical music more accessible

  • @mar504 to a wider audience. By taking traditional music and changing it this way they're giving a false impression of what classical music is all about, making it harder to integrate this great music into the general public. I resent being called elitist, all I want (and all most musicians really want) is to share the same amazing music as I enjoy and make them feel the same way it makes me feel.

  • @lb88ful They can make classical music be about whatever they want, it doesn't have to be about what you want. You don't like they way they express their art, and at the same time claim not to be an elitist????? These girls ARE sharing their amazing music in their own style that they enjoy, there really is no need to be so judgmental.

  • The camerawork on this was pretty shite. The girls were doing synchronized steps and such, and the viewers didn't really get to see that. I'm sure that wasn't easy to do, and the audience missed it.

  • Pure Talent :)

  • go string instruments :)

  • what's their talent ? the level of playing or their outfit ?

  • @bdfbern Both are far beyond you my son, sorry.

  • @bdfbern both

  • @bdfbern

Could you sound anymore jealous? go crawl back in your hole..... and take an arrow to the knee.

  • @bdfbern

Playing the violin alone takes many years of strict practice, especially playing it as well as they were. The other instruments require a lot of skill as well, and playing as a group takes perfect timing and hard work. You've no room to leave such a sexist comment, so please go away.

  • @bdfbern All of the above. Those four ladies are the complete package and the real deal.

  • my god this is terrible how can people listen to this racket? *plays lamb of god* thats better

  • i had goosebumps.

  • 2:35 "three asses." ^^

    It's actually four ^^

  • straight in my fucking face! Girls got rythm!

  • the penis in simon's mouth!:O

    oups, i mean't the pen is..xD

  • these.shows.are.the.devil.

  • What is that music? I've been looking for this tune since years, please help!!

  • @qubuzz "Allegretto" composed by Karl Jenkins, as performed by Bond.

  • Comment removed

  • @qubuzz

Allegretto, the first movement from *** Palladio *** by K. Jenkins

  • Simon wants to se them naked !

  • @MrBiggeorge23 It was probably a pre-requisite when Simon signed them to his label and got them a spot on the show.

  • pervert face of simons performance xD

  • i think the most of the likes are because of the tits :D

  • Comment removed

  • Wait...so...why is this so good? I don't play string, but I know that quite a few kids at my school could play this piece easily.... there was nothing special about this performance at all.

  • @idk1275 because they were very much so intune and intime with each other. that and they are beautiful.

  • @00hazel001 yes..and like I said, I know plenty of people at my school that could play it just as well...so now it comes down to just looks. All I'm saying is, this competition has no place for acts like this. If every decent musician came out for this competition, it would be overly flooded with acts. I've found that these shows are usually only for quirky or unique performers, which these girls are not. Are they talented? without a doubt. are tons of other musicians just as talented? yes.

  • @idk1275 Well the tons of other musicians didn't take part on the competition. I don't care how many others there might out there, i like them and i enjoy the music. You don't need to degrade them by saying that they made a career based on their looks alone.

    End of.

  • @BelladonaAtropina The show is supposed to be about unique talents, I see string quartets every day at music college, they just don't dress up in crotch high miniskirts. I like how the presenter on the left says we want to see more, not hear more

  • @RobBrooksMusic I've never been to a music college so i don't get to see those acts everyday. The skirts are not even close to their crotch. Mini skirts have been popular in fashion since the 60's, not that big a deal. As for the comment by the presenter it's a common phrase meaning that you'd like to see that person again, no reason to turn it into something else.

There is no such thing as 'unique' talent , almost all acts recreate something that it's been done before by someone else.

  • @BelladonaAtropina Well, I know my college is open to watch recitals for very cheap, and free for the students. I think the problem is that people who like this kind of music don't really go looking for it, but they say how amazing it is when it plonked in front of their faces on a TV screen.

The reason I get annoyed at this is that there are amazing musicians everywhere who get so little support and end up busking, and I'm sorry but the way these women dress is a large part of their appeal

  • @RobBrooksMusic You make a lot of assumptions. I am a heterosexual female and yet they appealed to me, i bought their cd and if they would come to play live in the town i live i would go to see them. I don't care about their clothes, i just like their music. I'm sure that there are amazing musicians everywhere, so what ? What do you want them to do ? Abandon their success because someone else isn't successful or known ? If someone hadn't come across that kind of music before-cont-.

  • @RobBrooksMusic -cont- then good for them for making it known, they might inspire kids who watch the show to learn an instrument and follow that path in music. You sound like a very miserable person who resents the success of others and usually people like you end up bitter losers.

  • @BelladonaAtropina ??? I don't resent the success of others, if it's justified, I have idols like everyone else. I'm just not going to glorify this

I can guarantee you if the sound was exactly the same and they were bald middle aged men with knitted jumpers they wouldn't get on prime time TV today. I don't think I'm miserable person, but I do find it sad a majority of people are so shallow

  • @RobBrooksMusic As i said before, you make a lot of assumptions. Paul Potts and Susan Boyle were almost what you described and they made it regardless, in this particular tv program.

  • @BelladonaAtropina Are you seriously trying to convince me that, except for very rare and exceptionally talented individuals, the music industry has nothing to do with sex appeal?

  • @RobBrooksMusic I'm not trying to convince you about anything, we exchange views on the matter, agreement is not necessary. Sex appeal matters in show biz,up to a point, and that goes for both men and women but ultimately if they couldn't play, their looks alone wouldn't be able to offer them a career. They're skillful on what they do and therefore your argument is invalid. So... stop focusing on their legs so much and listen to their music, if you don't like it go listen to something else.

  • @BelladonaAtropina The point is there are lots and lots of classical quartets with a musical talent equal to this, why don't they get a tv chance? And I disagree, in local music scenes I have been part of (as a sound engineer) there are a lot of musicians who dress well, have looks and moves and hardly any musical skill, yet still draw a crowd

I _am_ listening to something else

  • @RobBrooksMusic We're not talking about other acts you might have heard but for this particular one featured on this video. The subject is very specific. Do you think that they don't play their instruments up to a satisfactory standard ? If yes then point it out.The other classical quartets you speak of, have they entered the particular competition and refused entry ? Have they been kicked out or voted off by the audience ? No. It's a tv show and if you want a chance you have to take part first.

  • @RobBrooksMusic I find your approach on the subject very simplistic, immature and childish to say the least. I'll leave it here. Goodnight and good luck with your life.

  • @BelladonaAtropina Musically speaking Robbrooks is completely right. These girls are playing on electric instruments and their song is simple to put it bluntly. This means that 1. They cannot make errors that string instruments can make such as pushing down with the incorrect amount of force onto the string producing a high pitched screeching noise. 2. Listen to the parts that each girl plays and you'll realize that they're just playing a simple chord progression...(CONT)

  • @BelladonaAtropina (CONT) Not only is the composition of the song they played ridiculously simple but they're literally just playing roughly 7 of the same arpeggios over and over again. Haha at 1:12 the only thing they're just playing a scale! The complexity of this piece indescribably simple. 3. While I do not know how talented they are off stage they certainly did not show it on stage because they did nothing technically challenging besides a little spicatto. (CONT)

  • @BelladonaAtropina (CONT) There are however two things that were commendable. They could play together (not really that hard of a feat with such a simple song) and they were all in tune with each other. But being in tune with one another, while possibly being credited to the musicians themselves, was certainly affected by the fact that they used electrical instruments. String instruments that aren't electrical have different tones and sounds; electrical instruments can all sound the same.

  • @BelladonaAtropina My point is that Robbrooks' general idea is correct. Scala lacks true talent that distinguishes themselves from other musicians/quartets. Who wants to listen to a quartet of random people playing string instruments when they could listen to these 4 gorgeous women play cool songs? All that being said I'm not denying that the songs sound good, but the simplicity of the composition shows a lack of talent.

  • @BelladonaAtropina Oh and I've been playing the violin for twelve years and in numerous orchestras so yes, I know what I"m talking about. Don't be such a bitch to people like robbrooks if you don't know what you're talking about. 'Nuff said

  • @thewonderfulferret The only thing you've been playing for 12 years is your dick , give it a rest already.

  • @BelladonaAtropina

Maybe the reason other musicians didn't come out for this competition was because they recognize that this type of act doesn't belong here. naveedlalkhan said it pretty well.

  • @BelladonaAtropina His string instrument!!!!!

  • @BelladonaAtropina They made good points. While I really like this act, it's true that it probably wouldn't be nearly as popular if the girls were less attractive. Also, you told Robbrooks he was immature not too long ago, didn't you? I find this comment much more immature, considering you're unable to even come up with a decent side of your debate so you switch to Elementary-level insults.

  • @BelladonaAtropina it's probably been limp for much longer then.

  • 1:21 rofl...i know, i know simon...

  • Comment removed

  • @naveedlalkhan please understand that professionals need a chance too! Being in a Cathedral Choir, we aren't allowed to enter lots of things as we are already deemed professionals because we hypothetically earn money through discounted school fees. It's very frustrating and we never get to be in the limelight D:

  • the song is called "lux aeterna" and ist´s from clint mansell...from the great movie "requiem for a dream"...one of the best movies i´ve ever seen...

  • JMT Jedi Mind Tricks up in this haha thats all this reminds me of look up "On the Eve of War" JMT son.

  • they were already professionals, not fair to the other contestants, they are way above their league, this show needs fresh talent not some people whom are training and doing stuff for all their lives, but then again they were terrific.

  • @naveedlalkhan Im sorry but even when they are professionals: That what they are playing here is soo simple! Everyone playing 10 years one of these instruments could play that. But most of the people could need a professional - surgeon - with his instruments to look like that.....

  • Band better than the football team?

  • sexy

  • "Ridiculously easy to play..."

Maybe it's true, I play this on the viola, it's really easy, but it is not everyone who can play a string instrument, and make it sound good...

  • @Neyne92 with you buddy...ridiculously easy to play...nothing compared with Igudesman...my gosh he's really talented...and doesn't need this kind of tv show to promove himself!

  • @Neyne92 They aren't playing to impress you. Just the UK.

  • @Neyne92 Anything is easy to play in front of all that persons

  • @PresoTiGue But this song is easy :(
