This is a dangerous way to remove an avocado pit. You mention several times it is dangerous and have heard of people injuring themselves yet you fail to use the spoon sitting on the counter. Those people you heard of hurting themselves usually need surgery which is a big deal. I should know since I am the one operating on them. I am glad to see you using the spoon to remove the meat from the avocado but fix this video to a safer pitting technique to be good to your viewers.
@DoctorGrabow Normally you'd do this without ever setting the knife down, there is a worth while advantage. If can't control a blade you should not be using one. If we continue to dumb everyone down to the level of the least capable person in the room, we will continue to fail at life.
@mcskifter I definitely agree that if you can't control a blade you should not be using one. Unfortunately, many very intelligent people injury themselves very badly using knives in an unsafe manner. As you know, people use these "how-to" videos to learn new techniques assuming they are the best way to do something. I agree that this method may be conveinient and look cool but if you are one of the unlucky ones who cuts a nerve or tendon your perspective will unfortunately change.
@DoctorGrabow I've watched videos of 3 year old children wielding machete's in order to help their parents make dinner... and you concern is removing an avocado pit? Should we all wear helmets and bubble wrap suits too?
@chyrd I agree with you 100% that 3 year olds should not be wielding machetes. Compared to an adult with a kitchen knife they are much more likely to be injured. Considering that most accidental self-inflicted knife injuries in the US occur in the kitchen, I am trying my best to provide information on safe knife use to as many people as possible. As a triathlete, snowboarder, and rollerblader I do also recommend helmets to all my patients, but I agree that bubble wrap suits are overkill.
how much fat you eat doesn't directly determine how fat you get. it all has to do with how well your body knows how to get rid of the excess. it's all about the hypothalamus and pituitary glands in your brain!
The revolution is possible, but we need to start now so that Ron Paul will become president on Jan 20 2013. This video instructs revolutionaries on what to do:

MOVEMENT OF THE PEOPLE!
The NWO may have stopped Ron Paul from becomming president, but citizens have revolted against thier government and put a true patriot in power in other countries, so it is possible in the united states.
because it's easier and faster. with a spoon, you have to take time to get all the flesh off of the pit. if you hit it with a good knife and twist it out, very little if any sticks.
I think you're just trying to be funny, and I get your humor. Anyone who has spent any time working w/ avocados (I have an avocado orchard) knows the best & quickest way to get the pit out is w/ the knife you've just used to half the fruit. But if you're not handy w/ a knife, by all means, use a spoon.

try meshed avocado, mix with brown sugar and/or chocolate powder. then cream. it's famous in south east asia as desert and really tasty.
