@IamTheta If you mean going through the ghosts, no. It's all about the tile-based collision system used in Pac-man. The Pac-man dossier has a good explanation.

@RCC2k7 As far as I know, this has nothing to do with the state of Pac-Man's mouth, it's a collision detection bug.

When Pac-Man and any ghost are exactly next to each other in one frame (and moving towards eachother), their positions will be effectively 'swapped' in the next frame. Since their coordinates never matched, the game thinks that no collision occurred and Pac-Man lives.

The Ms. Pac Man board inside the cabinet is actually the original Pac Man board with an extension board attached, modding the game into Ms. Pac Man. Namco did it to save money by changing all their extra Pac Man cabinets rather than making a brand new batch of cabinets! In other words, remove the extra board to play the original Pac Man on a Ms. Pac Man cabinet! Google it and see for yourself.

I've also gone through a ghost, but it was the brown one, the only time I ever do it is when im coming through the tunnel at the exact time the brown one is coming from the other side. It's rare though

I did this accidentaly once when I was a kid and could never repeat it since I didn't realize it was pattern dependent. It has haunted me for years and no one would believe that I ran through a ghost. Thank you for clearing that up.
