  • Not quite the high energy it used to have......but still one of my faves!

  • At 3:03, Rick Wakeman playing the keyboard with an hand in his pocket! Genius!

  • This is good. I was just watching a video of this song from 73 though....now I'm all depressed about what 30 years can do to a person.

  • Just heard this and it is like being back there when they were big - all artists have retained their ability and originality - don't think I have ever heard an almost original line up ( no Bill Bruford )sound so good after such a long time. Listen to Siberian Khatru which is just as good

Bill Bruford was amazing too. Listen to Siberian Khatru on Close To The Edge Expanded (Re-mastered 2005) and particularly the Bruford drums at the end - very difficult yet not the slightest hint of a beat out.

  • When performed in the timing as the original it rocks!!! It's a bit slower here, believe it or not, than the original and I heard Wakeman lagging a little, which I've never heard before.............ever. They must of been tired. They are STILL THE BEST!!!

  • :) Good but not as good as at Glastonbury that same month! They are still incredible.

    I LOVE YES!!!

  • EPIC!!!

  • jon anderson is the magic voice.

  • As I spoke on another line. Steve Howe and Rick Wakeman were Great. Jon Anderson was great as well. What awesome musicians. !!!

  • 1:16 & then 1:24 OMG YESSSS!!!

  • Like wine. Older and better.

  • this down 1/2 step from the studio version...still awesome though

  • why did they skip the "Along the drifting cloud..." section? Thats the best part!

  • God that rickenbacker sounds so goood

  • just like the old days :)

  • Wow, the band sounds great, except for Steve Howe. I think he was in another world. Doesn't even sound like he tried to fit in with the other guys. Don't get me wrong, he is a GREAT player...but this is not his best moment. The others sound TIGHT! Great tune.

  • no other band cant match Yes' legacy.that is, their unique blend of musical dexterity, complex arrangements and ethereal, almost spiritual melodicism.

great performance! ill buy this in bluray

  • They sound amazing here! Great version.

  • @thenucleusalbum1968

Rush, Genesis, and PFM are all good bands.

  • @TheNucleusAlbum1968

At least Rush is still performing and making new music in their original incarnation. With Yes you never know week-to-week who's going to be in the band.

  • @tedorcon The original line-up of Rush formed in August 1968, in Toronto, Ontario, consisting of Jeff Jones (bass and lead vocals), John Rutsey (drums and backing vocals) and Alex Lifeson (guitars and backing vocals). Think that!

  • Rick Wakeman and Jon Anderson, they need to bring 'em back!

  • @ChrisDeGarmo

Sadly, I think we won't see more Rick Wakeman performing live, due to health issues, that's why his son is filling in for him. I was fortunate to see Rick live 6 years ago, performing just with a piano & vocalist, because all the equipment got stuck in mexican customs. It was PRICELESS.

  • keyboards out of control

  • 2:00 his days work! .-)

  • 1:52 he farted? .-)

  • the keyboarder is god

  • This has a subtle, relaxed feel to it. I can learn from this. Intensity is not necessarily volume and killing on the downbeat.

  • whats with the singer did he just go for a jog or something

  • The Rickenbacher, such a big bass, became so small in Chris hands, rsrsrsrs...

  • i'd hate to be that one guy who hates this video

  • he brought his wife on board..noice

  • Por siempre YES! Lo mejor!!

  • They missed the middle part, wich s the best of the song. That Sucks!!! Old cocksuckers

  • @donbernamacaco You may want to reference the original,Your comment is incorrect.,as far as leaving the middle out as you termed it.Slightly adlibed but intact.

  • Thank you uploader, you just took me back nearly 40 years to my bedroom in Glasgow, where my stereo blasted this out. And for my wee sis Carol, aren't you glad I took you to their concert all those years ago. Lotsa Love Max.

  • yes - always. only the fourth ricky of that model to have ever been imported to the uk (in 1965)

  • I think that the bass is not soo audible in this live like in others

But it was a nice live version anyway

  • They skipped the best part! What happened?

  • Man , Its so slow..RED BULL time

  • @stevezane Foda-se

  • @olimpioalvares what is Foda-se?

  • @stevezane They should be burried alive.

  • @stevezane

    it means "fuck", in portuguese

  • @olimpioalvares Foda-se yourself

  • stereo Rickenbacker... that's how he gets that sound... one side is all bass, the other is treble

  • Great sound!! and vid quality!! Bravo!

  • The Rickenbacker creates his very distinctive bass sound... Love it.

  • HUGE

  • Espectacular!!

  • "no description available"

    well said, youtube. well said.

  • @SamuelLJacksonsFish LOL

    Technology is making a joke!

Oh, No! What happens when computers start making puns?

  • Keyboard solos for the win!

  • This cameraman must have an aversion to keyboardists.

  • It is unbelievable how screwed up this youtube comment mechanism is -- just like everything else these days. Why do I have the latest FireFox browser and when I try to post a comment, it says "Error, try again". What a bunch of pathetic programmers

  • Has Chris always played a Rickenbacher?

  • Always? No. Most of the time and famously associated with the Rick? Yes.

  • Yes, he's famous for playing one. He even has his own signature 4001 Rickenbacker released a while ago.

  • Yep. And he's had the same one the whole time he's been in Yes.

  • @SamuelLJacksonsFish - oops - sorry - didn't see that you'd already answered that.

  • @Tinuviel11 - Yes. He also still has the same one he bought when he was 17, and worked in a music store (his first bass).

  • @Tinuviel11 Thanks everyone, especially covenstead - I never knew he worked in a music store, let alone having played that same bass for all those decades!

  • @Tinuviel11 Yep bassiclly.. He used a few different basses when i saw them live but still hes pretty much a Rickenbacker player..!!! :P

  • @Tinuviel11

I am pretty sure he has. At the very least he has played one for the vast majority of his career.

  • @Tinuviel11 he plays a Lakland's Precision on some songs of this DVD

  • @Tinuviel11 Yes, he has.

  • @Tinuviel11 Yep. He uses other basses but during a show, at some point, usually near the end, if he hasnt used it yet, he will pull it out.

  • @Tinuviel11 almost exclusively throughout his whole career

  • @Tinuviel11 yes, always

  • @Tinuviel11 No, just since 1965 or so.

  • @Tinuviel11 Yes!!!

  • @Tinuviel11 Always

  • @Tinuviel11 Ever since 1965, and apparently he wired it in stereo before Rickenbacker offered it in stereo

  • not even one falsetto ever... JON ANDERSON VOCAL GOD

  • Comment removed

  • @MorganKai SO he talks like that in basic conversation?? I doubt it, his whole performance is FALSETTO.

  • @mrskeen94 you don't know what you're talking about

  • @mrskeen94 Nope thats literally how his voice sounds, I've seen interviews it sounds like he is even talking in falsetto.

  • @MorganKai whats wrong with a falsetto?

  • @redryan20000 nothing wrang with falsetto but a male singer with such a high range as JA is better, thats all.

And yeah they have dropped down a little here, but not the usual, full octave that so many singers suffer from so many years later.

Oh and if you have an interest in older male pop/rock vocal then Al Green beats em all. Not my cup of tea, either, but impressive nonetheless.

  • Perfect

  • fathers of prog, right there.

  • @hatecrewdrumz666

Sorry, but I would say the group that Wakeman came from, the Strawbs would hold that mantle. Dave cousins band was the first to play this Genre.

  • looking at te art of roger dean and listening to the fragile album , those where the days, and still they never end. thanks.

  • Alan White on drums?

  • Yes it is.

  • Was that Jainee during the keyboard solo?
