  • Beautiful.

  • What company is this from?

  • @DanceAmazingGrace Paris opera Ballet

  • really good

  • She makes it look so easy and she does it effortless!!

  • Stunning......put me in a trance.

I love ballet and now that tune

  • Bravissimo! Beauty in motion!

  • what's the name of this song?? I'm trying to download but i cant find it :(

  • GORGEOUS!

  • Can she smile?

  • @purpleagles can you read?

  • beautiful

  • this makes tears of joy and happyness come down my cheeks....SO BEAUTIFUL <3

  • Alright, this is beautiful, now for the Nora gets hate part.

I fell in love with the music of this ballet long before I ever actually saw any clip from it. But like...I don't get it. How do you show, through dance, someone who's sleeping? Dream sequences or what? I should google this, I know, but I've never seen the ballet, just the concept of a SLEEPING beauty ballet confuses me. XD

  • @theamazingsoter I didn't assume it was for the Disney movie, I'm a Tchaikovsky nerd and knew of it that way. i never learned the story of the ballet or really watched any of it. I love ballet, I'm not a huge enthusiast who knows absolutely everything about it or a dancer, but I've always loved it. I guess I get this part then, so I guess earlier on she falls asleep and then from there it's this kind of stuff to guide the prince back to her until she awakens?

  • @TheMooseOfMayhem Oh no, I wasn't referring to you when I mentioned the movie. But I have read comments by some people saying things like "hey, they copied the name 'Aurora' from Disney!" or "yes, Tchaikovsky composed the music especially for the movie" and stuff like that :I

Since I can't write much more, I'll send you a pm with information about the ballet and different productions if you are interested. You can also read the plot, list of roles and other info about the ballet in Wikipedia.

  • @theamazingsoter can you also send that to me plz :)

  • I love ballet

  • Aurelie Dupont is like the Audrey Hepburn of the ballerinas... pure elegance. I prefer the Petipa choreography though

  • @Wotan123456789 Petipa never used this variation in his Sleeping Beauty. Instead, he choreographed a new variation for Aurora using the music of the Gold Fairy solo from Act III. I suppose you are referring to Ashton's choreography?

I much prefer this version (which is by Sergeyev, actually) to the Royal Ballet one with a zillion of enveloppés. I think this one suits perfectly an elegant and lyrical dancer like Aurélie.

  • she does this variation better than anyone else ive seen

  • LOVELY !!!

  • LOVELY !!!

  • Very LOVELY !!!!!!!!

  • Very LOVELY !!!!!!!!

  • What company is this? The tutu is beautiful.

  • @MagaliMcp

    Paris Opera Ballet.

  • @LaLeLiLoLu509 No, if you actually look there are a few mistakes. My friend told me if I could find a legitimate mistake in this one she'd pay me. It was pretty, but that's one of a few mistakes. She also has the same expression the whole time. Isn't this dance meant to be joyful? I think she's more suited to be Kristen Stewart with the number of facial expressions in this vid!

  • @chainedserendipity No, it isn't supposed to be joyful at all...

  • Why is people so obsessed with Aurelie's missing smile here? She's dancing in character, which means she is playing the vision of a young girl that was cursed to sleep for 100 years... why exactly would she have to be happy about it? You should see her dancing the adagio from this same act. She becomes Aurora.

  • @theamazingsoter I agree she definitely doesn't need to be smiling, but to me, her face is showing no emotion at all.

  • @Indierockandr0ll and what's wrong with that? The impersonality and dreamlike appearance is characteristic of Aurora's vision. I've never seen this variation performed differently. However, you can see how happy she's when she first meets the prince as a vision, and during the coda of Act II when she's reunited with him at the end of the pas. I really can't find anything negative about Aurelie's Aurora.

  • @theamazingsoter Yeah! And the first rule of dancing, do not smile. This is if it is not appropriate on what you dance.

  • shes very stifff :(

&& theres like no emotion on her face. but other than that veryyy pretty

  • Lindo.. lindo... lindo...

    Parabéns por essa postagem linda...

    Beijos da Sissa♥

  • @Edralis I know I noticed that too! lol

  • she's the perfect Aurora :)

  • everything is so perfect except for her turned in foot on the arebesques at the end. heel forward!!! it can be so disappointing when one flaw in a dancer;s otherwise perfect performance can ruin it

  • @dansergurrl123 actually the pique leg on the last arabesques is not parallel because of the french style the line of the working hip is more open which makes it look parallel now granted when she does the first set of those arabesques the leg is more turned out but nothing is ever flawless but she was pretty close to it. but love the first part of your comment

  • Wow, which company is this?? It's wonderful, and the scenery and costumes OMG!!

  • @HopePrincess7 it's Paris Opera Ballet

  • @pinkipink45 thanks so much :)

  • @HopePrincess7 you're welcome :)

  • OMG! why she can dance so gorgeous?!

  • She just floats effortlessly.

  • This is soo graceful and beautiful! I love it

  • Cool

  • it looks like shes skating on ice its beautiful

  • OMG ! this is so beautiful

  • :o i never knew they had a sleeping beauty ballet :o (favorite disney movie :P)

  • just so amazing. lovly feet work and such grace... so beautiful!

  • and deaf...

  • usually, the legs (esp the calves) of ballet dancers are too "muscular", but Aurelie Dupont's legs are just lovely! Love her dance!

  • Sooo beautiful and graceful, I love it. I took ballet lessons when I was younger, I wish I had continued.

  • THE BEST !

    RUSSIA !

    VIVAT !

  • @hulik243 that's french ballet ...

  • love the song i love your foot girl and great performans love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You know, Aurelie Dupont is my all-time favourite. But she only started when she was ten years old. Of course you can´t become a prof when you start at the age of twenty, but in every age I think working hard, passion and love for what you do and talent are much more important then years. If you really want something you can do it, and she's the prove and my biggest inspiration.

  • Perfect! I've never seen such a wonderful dancer like this before!!!

  • Everything is beautiful but is the same back and forward, back and forward.

  • A dança não é só movimentos do corpo...é a vida de uma bailarina espressa nos movimentos do corpo,ou seja, a dança...

  • :')) How kan they be so good?!

  • the ballerinas are doing an amazing job, but all of their arm movements are quiet stiff, if anyone knows what i mean.. its not flowing enough

  • appreciation comment for all the amazing hard-working beautiful dancers in the corps-de-ballet :))

  • BELLO, MUY BELLO

  • what is the name of 0:13 ?

  • @chanwing19

    rond verse

  • Comment removed

  • this music is beautiful and so is the dancer

  • Thumbs up if you cant find anything negative about this dancer

  • @CherryOnTop5000 I can! She stole my name! XD (Aurora)

  • Comment removed

  • Don't know why but i have a feeling that she kinda looks like Anne Hathaway :))

  • Oh wow!! I loved the whole thing, but her arabesque into attitude turns were breathtaking. It looked SO effortless!!!!

  • I love the music

  • My attention didn't move from the screen for the whole 2 minutes and 24 seconds that she was dancing. So beautiful :')

  • beautiful, <3

  • beautiful

  • beautiful dancing

  • 36 people will never feel a dancer heart...

  • she's so light 2:05 !

  • That was beautiful. A lot has changed since i was dancing there. The costumes were very beautiful.

  • That was beautiful. A lot has changed since i was dancing there.

  • Aurelie is one of the BESt !

  • what a gracious and beautiful performance!

  • beautiful!!!!!!

  • BELLISIMO

  • amazing

  • so pretty..cant stop staring at her movements.. *_*

  • Why hasn't Uliana Lopatkina danced Sleeping Beauty? There was some reason, but I can't remember...

  • wow, like she was a feather. amazingly beautiful

  • Can anyone tell me the name of this song?

  • 1:59

the ballerina on the left lying on the ground has a creepy smile

  • @Edralis XD ikr! creepy smiley!

  • @Edralis hahahahahahah do you mean on 1:57 ?? couldnt stop laughing :b

  • Dpont has both feet and heart. 'What a light!

  • Absolutely beautiful..

And it doesn't matter how old you are, if you want to take ballet lessons just do it, maybe you're not going to be as good as Aurelie Dupont, but what matters more is the feeling you'll get from it, it's amazing. :-)

  • beautiful.

  • why didn't my mum force me to take ballet lessons -.-

  • omfg shes like perfect :)

  • @MsAvatar2011 I'm sorry I have to disagree with you, I've just started Ballet lessons and I'm 19. People of any age can experience the joys of Ballet :). But yes, I do see your point. You cannot be a Aurelie Dupont if you start late :)

  • @catherinewheels11 you give me hope

  • just beautiful!

  • beautiful

  • beautiful!!! 1 of my fav ballets!

  • :)

  • Maravilhoso...

    Amo de paixão...

    Parabéns pela linda postagem...

    Obrigada Adri por me enviar...

    Beijos com carinho da Sissa

  • The way so dances is beautiful

  • @TheQianling correction: 36 people

  • The end is breathtaking! Actually the whole variation is !! *=*

  • amei todas arasaran

  • how could anyone dislike a hard working ballerina. five professional football players don't even work half as hard as a ballerina. screw professional sports players and their giant money making egos.

  • There's a quality about French ballet dancers which I just love. I can't pinpoint why I like it exactly other than words like--elegant, sophisticated, subtle, refined. But it's different from Russian ballet (which I also love); russian dancers excel at showing a sort of otherwordly power and perfection in ballet. The French show its softness and its beauty and its humanity. I love both. And Aurelie's dancing both sophisticated and beautiful, as always.

  • Black Swan changed mt whole prospective...but then again Ballet is such an Art...awe Jealousy rules over ;)

  • as some one whos not a dancer, just a writer writing about ballet, I have to say....wow....how do you guys do that.

  • Probably one of the best performances of this solo

  • this is so amazing

    BALLET is a amazing

  • We can see, she IS a princess, at first sight.

  • This is why she is an etoile

  • as a dancer, i respect their talent.. but ballet is so stiff to me. Although its the basis of everything modern, dance, jazz, broadway, and some hip hop, its hard to argue that classical ballet is still relavant.

  • @prettyeyessxoxo Well, I like it anyway. You know, you don't have to watch it if you don't like it.

  • @langtonian99

There is nothing wrong with it, its a great art form. I was just sharing my opionion about whats posted. It's not meant to offend anyone, but maybe to clarify why others might not like it.

  • ballet isn't just technique at all!!

It's about emotions, you must tell your story and your emotion with

movements... techniqe is just your interpretation of the story... and every interpretation is different just like a ballerina ...

  • Dang that leg can go so high!!!

  • THS IS SO BEAUTIFUL.. :)

  • Well I have seen this incredible beauty and yours truly the beast would love to give her a total roggering. :-)

  • is it just me or is she super smooth and magnificent

  • my goodness, that whole dance was one continuous movement. So fluid and gorgeous!!! beyond words!

  • 35 people are blind

  • @TheQianling 36 now they are stupid!

  • @TheQianling and deaf

  • @TheQianling 36 actually

  • @AFdancergirlio; It must have been 35 dislikes 2 months ago. . . When that comment was posted

  • @TheQianling Yeah, either that or they don't like this video.

  • @TheQianling :) i think they're blind and deaf because even if they couldnt see the dancing, they would like the amazing music ... but then again, maybe they're only blind and they clicked the wrong button because they couldnt see

  • this is utterly beautiful!!!

  • eventhough her face didnt look perfect, but her dancing makes it perfect (:

  • Wow she is sooo beautiful. Her grace, poise, and flexibility are amazing!!

  • very smooth and graceful

  • how smooth and graceful!

  • "dancing with feet is one thing;dance with the heart is another"

  • @carolzinhaaaaa100 absoulutely beautiful

  • @carolzinhaaaaa100 and she can totally do both ;)

  • oh my gosh that is like the most beautiful thing ive ever seen in my life! she is an AMAZING dancer, i sooooooooo wish i could dance like that oh my goodness!!!!! :O

    legit - no joke

  • Anyone know which brand of shoe she wears? She's so gorgeus

  • @kfmcmahon Aurelie wears FREED shoes, a old well made brand of English pointe shoes. They are hand made to the dancers individual pattern.

  • @MissBalletKitty

WOW! I'm fifteen too and always thought that I was too old to learn. Now...hearing you say that gives me hope! xD

  • Which is his stature?

  • @loReeBaLletera Aurelie est petit, 1.67m

  • going to see it tonight WOO

  • i love ballet, so beautiful, but im thirteen now, and I just can't do it. I never have tim, or the money. Man I could cry about it. Wish i could be as graceful as her </3 too beautiful for me

  • @mrssassyjesse You CAN!!! get a very good ballet book they are expensive, about £30, but they have ALL the excercises necessary in them - start doing them now, and join a class when you can afford to ! Believe me your flexibility will inprove in a couple of months! :) x

  • i love her control on point !!! beautiful !

  • I wanted to get back into ballet too - I did it until I was about 9 but left because I didnt want to do it any more even though the teacher tried to persuade my parents to make me stay! Gutted. Im 25 now and thats DEFINATELY too old :(

  • @luna1463

You are not to old! I am fifteen and recently started . Straight in at grade six.Its very hard, but maturity is in demand as you should pick up the movements better :)

  • beautiful!

  • BRAVO!!!

  • beautiful

  • She's danced beautiful, but she doesn't have the gracefulness and youthfulness for Aurora. I like the Royal Ballet's one better.

  • ive always wanted to be in ballet but now its just to late...im almost 17 years old so its way to late to join. Everyone else starts at the age of 3 or moree:'(

  • @MsGabyCamarillo

17 is NOT too late!!!!! 25 is!! Start now you could be great! x

  • The quality of the performance is wonderful, thanks.

  • I took ballet when I was 5 or 6 but my parents pulled me out because I wasn't good enough for them. I really wish I could go back, but I'm now 19, I don't think there's much point trying now.

  • @FacelessFallenAngel Don't take that attitude!! Go back, try, work hard, hey you never know, you could really be great!! BE POSITIVE!!

  • @FacelessFallenAngel please don't think it's ever too late. Even if you are not good enough, just do it for yourself as a hobby. It's excellent exercise an can even work as therapy. Just think about it, when you go to class there's so much to concentrate on that you have no time to think about problems, issues, or anything bad that could be going on...so it relieves stress. Plus, since you like it, it will be good for your spirit. I speak from experience.

  • the muic is comming out of her.

  • a ballerina can be even more tough and enduring than a wrestler

  • How old?

  • que bonito baila

  • los rusos tienen una tecnica impecable

  • ballet brings us into another world.More beautiful world

  • The Audrey Hepburn of ballerinas. Extremely elegant and graceful

  • I really want to dance like that, but I'm almost 14 and I have never had ballet classes in my life, can I still take some? And if yes, are there some classes for beginners that are teens or do I have to be with little kids, or with more advanced people who know way more than me?
