  • RibenaRush is rubbish

  • I meant Cantonese version

  • 多了一份成熟女人味.

  • Bullshit ! Priscilla's version is original, please check it before posting your bullshit

  • @leehom10 bullshit! The Japanese version is original! Both Anita and Priscilla's versions are cover! Please check before you use the word "bullshit"!

  • OH MY GOD, SHE RUINS THIS BEAUTIFUL CLASSIC SONG OF ANITA MUI. SHE CAN'T DO THAT LOW MANLY STRONG AND POWERFUL VOICE OF ANITA. PRISCILLA IS TOO FEMININE IN HER TONE AND HER VOICE IS NOT POWERFUL. SHE CAN'T DO THE VIBRATING VOICE THAT ANITA CAN. PRISCILLA IS TERRIBLE. IF YOU'RE GONNA SING AN ANITA SONG, YOU BETTER BRING IT ON.

  • @Aikynbreusov "OH MY GOD, SHE RUINS THIS BEAUTIFUL CLASSIC SONG OF ANITA MUI".

Priscilla and Anita both had lyrics to this song, but Priscilla released it first and made it popular. Priscilla's version is more popular around the world, but some music critics prefer Anita's.

  • @Aikynbreusov This was Priscilla's song. When it comes to Original vibe, you can only get it through Priscilla.

  • @Aikynbreusov

It's obvious you don't know what you're talking about, this song is neither Anita's or Priscilla's. It was adopted from a japanese song sung by Masahiko Kondo. Priscilla voice gives this song a more pleasant melody that you can actually feel. Which is the main reason it became a big hit. Anita's raspy voice ruined this song completely as it made it sound more manly. Which was why it never caught on with the HK audience. It was Anita failed attempt trying to regain her popularity.

  • @stryke822 What? Actually, both versions of the song by Anita and Priscilla were instant hits in HK. Not only that, but at the time Anita was already atop of the industry and swept the most prestigious awards with this song, beating out Priscilla and once again solidifying her status in the music world. Both songs are classics and favorites of an era, so you can't say any of the two "ruined" the song, I'd say the fact that there were two versions helped each song's success and popularity...

  • @jjjl138

Not exactly, Priscilla version came out first and became a sensation overnite. Anita release her version much later in time when her popularity had already leveled off. As you mentioned Anita had already gain recognition status before Priscilla made her debut. But like any star eventually their popularity & sales levels off or drops. Anita released her version as an attempt to maintain her image & popularity.

  • 唉,还是老了啊

  • I think her voice & look were ok,everyone change along with their ages.

  • she is back....i lost her in the 80s when she suddenly quit music t further her studies..she was such a beau with great songs..i was heartbroken and stopped doing anything for weeks...back home in KL then.........she is queen to me

  • she looks pretty fat in this video.

  • 以前我真係好鍾意佢....但係而家見到佢有種想嘔既感覺....!!!

  • she looks like shes drunk, still very good though

  • @KeithHuiK 陈慧娴把聲依然冇變,係台上支野質素差!!

  • 反正大人都喜欢,然后就经常听长辈播放,超级爱。。这首歌很经典。。经典之作

  • want to sniff her toes after a hot day walking around hong kong. Inhale that delicious stink from this lovely, cute girl. yumum

  • 少女的味道淡忘了,孤單的情路令她更有女人味....

  • 慧嫻永遠支持您

  • not sure when this video was taken, but she "still" looks great!

  • @people who thinks she sings bad, not many people sings good in lives ._.

  • 声音条件变好多,和我以前的听得差好多....

  • 其實慧嫺個樣無點變,係肥左少少!

  • shes is awesome! princilla!!!

  • 当再次听到这首歌的旋律的时候 让我想起了 大学英语课 当时课间的时候 英语老师经常放这首歌

  • I am a big fan of Priscilla, I discovered her when a friend loaned me a VCD of a concert of her in Hongkong in the 80s.

I'm from Europe and I don't understand what she sings.

I only listen to her voice and the melody. Probably more so than most of you, because I dont get distracted by the lyrics.

What I noticed in her recent songs is that she still has a great voice, I still can hear the emotion in her voice but the melody warps in and out of phase. Maybe a sound engineer can explain?

  • @theodh1960 To say that time hasn't washed her is a mistake, to say that she is bad or has lost all of it is ignorant

  • @theodh1960

Thats interestin that you dont understand chinese but still like the songs she sings. Yes shes very talented and always sings good songs.

But i assume you are into asian culture overall yes?

  • @theodh1960

Yes, you are correct. Something is missing. For each single song of hers, compared a version from the old days to one from recent time, you will see what you called "melody warps in and out of phase".

You can see the same for each on youtube.

  • @PinkyGirl008

    I'm sorry too. u just don't get it ;P

  • 2:39, she wasn't singing.... just playing tape, but great song nonetheless!

  • abusolutely not playing tape

  • if it were a tape, she would've sounded alot better. it seems like she kinda lost it here

  • She could not sing at that moment, as she was hugging a fan. The sound was from the music background, the vocal singers, recorded on the tape already. She is using a MMO (Music Minus One, which is karaoke without the melody) instead of the live band to sing this song. That's why you can hear the vocal background...

  • Sorry, Music Minus One is for musical instrument... wrong information. But, when you use a software to make an effect to remove her voice from the original file (song), you can get this effect - Karaoke without melody...

  • 係本新有

  • good but have a fermale singer sing good more than

  • Comment removed

  • wow, a LOT of fans !

  • I like 陳慧嫻's songs

  • awesome

    wonderful

    amazing

  • like like this

  • 呢隻真係CLASSIC

  • very good video , thank you

  • this more recent version...

    still same good singing...

but can hear some shaky and cant reach the high notes like her older videos.

  • Her voice is beatiful! Priscilla has great singing skills.

  • whats wrong with saying shes been out of the singing business? she has hasnt she? her voice isnt the same gentle voice like that of the early 90's video

  • I wanna know too.

Her voice was as clear as crystal.

But now, the crystal is totally broken.

I hate to hear such a "sick voice".

    My ears are suffering.

  • good good very good vido ok good the best

  • shes also older now, and been out of the singing business for a while

  • beautiful voice....

  • She sound like she's been speaking mando for a while.

...I think she sang this song very well, just why the sharp and odd high pitch in this live performance.

or maybe she's losing that Pricilla voice, and not as much emotion.

  • Wow this is one of the most awesome video of Priscilla singing. Great job! She looks soooo pretty and a wonderous voice as well. :D

  • As far as I know 陳慧嫻 is from HK so Cantonese would be her native language, not Mandarin.

  • Get your facts right, mate. Yes, she does speak mandarin, but she is from HK and is Cantonese. Her native tongue is Cantonese.

And SHE IS the original singer of this particular song...so what are you talking about??

Do you even know who Priscilla Chan is? If not, please don't silly assumptions like that...

  • this song is originated from japan not from hk. she is not the original singer. pretty ironic you telling people to get facts straight

  • how did this originate in Japan...just because the composer of the music is Japanese...There were plenty of songs back then when HK songs had music written by japanese composers

Anyways, what you're saying doesn't make sense. You're suggesting that the original singer was Japanese but the song's lyrics are in Chinese.

so no....it's not really ironic at all :P

  • most songs from 80s is not from hongkong, they just change the lyrics almost all songs are from outside of hongkong. no oringinallity

  • funny how you tell someone to get their facts straight about someone getting their facts straight when your facts aren't very linear =D

lol ok, back to the topic, she's the original singer of this chinese version (and I'm sure he was referring to the original chinese singer, and not the japanese version if there is one, but he screwed himself cause she's the original)

    Ooooowned

  • @iMPERiOUS

The original was written by a japanese composer, it seems you're the one who needs to get your facts straight. During the 80's-90's most chinese songs were mostly adopted from japanese songs. All you have to do is just look at the record/cd lyrics booklet and it shows the song writers name. As far as Priscilla, she is the original for the chinese version.

  • Yes, I heard the song originated in Japan. Written by some dude called Koji Nakaino or something like that.

Please read what I wrote, you bloody moron! I said..."This PARTICULAR song". Do I need to explain to you what the word "particular" means?

  • im very curious, i wanna hear the japanese song, can you send me the link, not being a jackass or anything

  • Sorry mate...I don't actually have it. Just google that Koji Nakaino guy's name.

  • darn, looking forward into listening to that song

  • watch?v=3cR-UfAXH-c

  • oohhhhhhhhhhh wow! sooo much feeling, i love it thanks sooooo much!

  • She is the original Hongkong singer!

  • i think she's very cold up there, her voice is shaking

  • Was this onstage performance last year? She still has that lovely singing voice of her's. Well CCTV and China really get to know this lady. Great promotion.

  • She has the most beautiful smile!
