Your comment sums up my views accurately. Personally, when I am watching a video, the way the advertising is presented is not what bothers me. I feel that you do it tastefully and the focus of the video is the content, not the ad. But ads seem to detract from the viewing experience by introducing an element of doubt into the equation. It makes me wonder if the video would have been made if not for advertising. I can not appreciate the comedy as much in the presence of ads.

This was demonstrated clearly by your Seaborne and Roach series. I really thought that the material was brilliant and laughed hard at each episode.  Upon my realization that there was a sponsor, however, my laughter was not quite as forceful and my thoughts turned from the jokes (which were still very good) to the ads. I don't mind when ads are not part of the content (like on TV where they typically are seperated from the show or in most movies where the ads come before the actual movie rather than affecting the film). When I see blatant advertising in a movie or a video game, though, I find myself a little annoyed. My only true objection is to the blurring of the line between content and ad.

The sponsorship lets us continue the series, because there are two women and 3 kids at our homes who really appreciate it. People make TV shows and films for "fun", but it's also what they do for a living. If professional web video is to continue, there has to be an economic model.
